Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1235: Chapter 668: Stirring Up Controversy_3

The reporter continued to ask, ”Was Wei Ru Xue originally considered for the drama ’Deep Sea’ as well? So she declined, and that’s why Zhou Yun was chosen?”

Sui Yu said, ”I don’t know the order of events, and it’s not important. I just want to say that there’s no need to compare Zhou Yun with other actresses. Not every actress is as lucky as Zhou Yun—a boyfriend who’s an acclaimed actor helped her become famous overnight and starred with her in ’Heart Inquiry,’ which was a big hit featuring her in the second lead role, allowing her to make significant progress in her acting career. Of course, Zhou Yun is very talented, that’s beyond question. I’m just saying many actresses are skilled, but not everyone gets the opportunity to showcase their exquisite acting. Comparing one actress to another is unfair.”

Upon hearing this, the reporter asked, ”Do you think Wei Ru Xue has had the opportunity to showcase her acting skills?”

”Of course, of course,” Sui Yu replied, ”Ruxue has been quite lucky too, getting one role after another. After ’Spring Cold’ aired, many people said she could live off that one drama for the next five years, but Ruxue is an aspirational actress who refuses to be complacent. In the past year, she’s been striving to find good scripts and teams, which led to the drama ’Flying with Phoenix.’

The reporter asked, ”Does Wei Ru Xue have plans to be in films?”

Sui Yu: ”We’ve been in contact with various film crews, but finding suitable film projects isn’t easy, so we’re still looking.”

The reporter said, ”Previously, you mentioned that when you first saw the script for ’Deep Sea,’ you thought it was good and worth filming but were also worried about the lack of a good director and unable to deliver. This concern sounds odd to me, so does Wei Ru Xue prioritize the team over the script when selecting projects?”

Sui Yu: ”That’s confidential, I’m afraid I can’t disclose it.”

...

The lengthy interview with Sui Yu spread online with the headline: ”Wei Ru Xue Rejected ’Deep Sea’ and Starred in ’Flying with Phoenix’ Instead.”

The headline clearly suggested favoring one over the other.

It implied that ’Deep Sea’ had initially sought Wei Ru Xue, who declined, leading to Zhou Yun being chosen.

This subtly instilled in the audience’s minds that within the acting circle, scripts initially approached Wei Ru Xue, and only after her rejection did they approach Zhou Yun, meaning Wei Ru Xue was the first choice, while Zhou Yun was merely an alternative.

On the other hand, this headline hinted that ’Flying with Phoenix’ is superior to ’Deep Sea.’

If it weren’t, why use ”instead”? It suggests that Wei Ru Xue had to reject the slightly inferior ’Deep Sea’ to seize the opportunity to star in ’Flying with Phoenix.’

Reading the full interview reveals another layer of Sui Yu’s intentions.

—Understand that not every actress is as fortunate as Zhou Yun, having a boyfriend who’s an acclaimed actor helped her become famous overnight and starred with her in ’Heart Inquiry,’ which was a big hit featuring her in the second lead role, allowing her to make significant progress in her acting career.

Zhou Yun found the comment glaringly offensive and instinctively frowned.

Sui Yu blatantly made these remarks, utterly dismissing Zhou Yun’s efforts and talent, attributing all her current success to Song Chi.

Zhou Yun felt furious.

The interview was irritating.

She immediately called the editor-in-chief of the media outlet that published the interview to inquire about the situation.

The editor seemed prepared for Zhou Lan’s call, laughing and saying, ”Zhou Lan, we’re not using clickbait titles. If you read the full interview, you’ll understand that’s precisely Sui Yu’s message.”

Zhou Lan felt frustrated.

But dealing with these media industry veterans was pointless, merely wasting time.

Zhou Lan didn’t say much more and directly called Sui Yu.

”Sister Yu, what do you mean by this? Are you trying to provoke a fight?” Zhou Lan unreservedly questioned Sui Yu.
