Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1222: Chapter 664: Don’t Be Jealous_2

But Zhou Yun was also doing everything she could, in her own way, to look out for Yu Zhiyang.

Zhou Yun had always thought that, if there was ever a chance, she had to help Yu Zhiyang get away from Xu Guiying.

Zhou Lan’s words made her realize this might be an opportunity.

Zhou Yun called Song Chi, told him about it, and then told him her decision: ”I want to give it a try, see if I can buy his contract over.”

Song Chi knew about what had happened between Zhou Yun and Yu Zhiyang. He had even gone to the hospital with Zhou Yun to see Yu Zhiyang, back when Yu Zhiyang had been hospitalized with fractures from the car accident.

After he heard Zhou Yun out, he immediately said, ”Xiao Yun, leave this to me. You don’t show your face.”

”Hm?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Why?”

”Xu Guiying has other ideas about Zhiyang. You’re a woman. If you go to her and try to buy Zhiyang’s contract, she’ll be jealous, more or less, and resistant. I’ll have Wu Chengbao go approach Xu Guiying. Since she’s short on cash right now, as long as we offer enough money, she should still, for the sake of putting out the fire at her doorstep, transfer Zhiyang’s contract to us.” Song Chi said, ”If Wu Chengbao goes to do this and if you go to do this, Xu Guiying’s attitude will be very different.”

When Zhou Yun heard that, she felt what Song Chi said made sense. She said, ”Then have Wu Chengbao hurry up. I’m afraid if this drags on, things will change, and Xu Guiying will just let everything go to hell and insist on keeping Zhiyang in her hands, refusing to let him go.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll make everything clear to Wu Chengbao.” Song Chi said, ”But when I manage to get Zhiyang’s contract transferred over, are we putting him under me, or under your studio?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Is it convenient for you to take him?”

”What’s convenient or not convenient for me? One or two, I can take them all.” Song Chi laughed. ”Besides, I don’t think you’d ever just leave him alone. Even if he’s placed under me, it won’t really be my turn to manage him.”

”That kid’s had it way too rough. I want to do everything I can to give him a hand.” Zhou Yun said, ”If it’s not inconvenient for you, then put him with you. See how much it costs to terminate his contract; I’ll pay the termination fee myself.”

”If he’s officially under my roster, then the termination fee should be covered by my side, otherwise it wouldn’t be proper or justified.”

”Who knows how outrageously Xu Guiying will open her lion’s mouth? Your cash flow is already tight as it is.” Zhou Yun said, ”If you feel it’s not proper or justified, later I’ll have my studio sign an agreement with your company in the studio’s name. For Zhiyang’s subsequent income, you give my studio a 20% cut.”

”That works too.” Song Chi said. ”Then it’s settled. I’ll first have Wu Chengbao go talk to Xu Guiying.”

Zhou Yun made a sound of assent.

Zhou Lan’s news had lifted Zhou Yun’s spirits a little.

If Yu Zhiyang really could successfully get out from under Xu Guiying, that would be the best outcome.

Zhou Yun had already started thinking about what projects she should line up for him once Yu Zhiyang signed with Song Chi’s company.

She truly hadn’t expected that, right before going abroad to film, she would hear such good news.

Zhou Yun was impatient to arrange to meet Yu Zhiyang, but she didn’t want to stir up any unnecessary trouble before this matter was settled, so she could only force herself to hold back for now.

She definitely did not want Xu Guiying to find out that she had secretly met with Yu Zhiyang at such a sensitive moment. If Xu Guiying got provoked and resolutely refused to let him go, it would be a complete loss.

Two days later, Wu Chengbao brought back good news.

Xu Guiying agreed to transfer Yu Zhiyang, but she named a sky-high price of five million yuan.

On the open market, Yu Zhiyang certainly wasn’t worth a five-million-yuan termination fee.

He wasn’t famous, nor did he have commercial value. Any halfway normal agency wouldn’t touch this deal.

But Zhou Yun and Song Chi weren’t trying to bring Yu Zhiyang over to make money off him. To put it bluntly, this was still Zhou Yun wanting to use this opportunity to help Yu Zhiyang escape from Xu Guiying’s clutches.

Zhou Yun agreed on the spot.

All the paperwork took about a week. On the night before she flew abroad, Zhou Yun saw Yu Zhiyang, who had been brought over by Wu Chengbao.

He was alone, dragging a large suitcase, following silently behind Wu Chengbao. Only when he saw Zhou Yun did his eyes light up faintly.

”Sister Xiao Yun.” he called.

Yu Zhiyang’s voice was a little hoarse.

When Zhou Yun saw him, she couldn’t hold back her excitement. She pulled him into a hug, patted his back, and said, ”I finally get to see you!”

Yu Zhiyang pressed his lips together, saying nothing, not moving either, just letting Zhou Yun hold him like that.
