Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1214: Chapter 661: About Time_4

”Thank you, Brother Chi!”

Everyone ate, drank, had fun, and then welcomed the New Year together.

Zhou Yun drank a lot of alcohol, wanting to drink to her heart’s content, and have a good sleep.

”Aren’t you returning to the set tomorrow?” Zhou Yun suddenly remembered and asked.

Song Chi said, ”It’s New Year, the set is on a three-day break.”

”That’s good.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I thought you had to return to the set tomorrow and couldn’t rest even for a day.”

As the boss of the production company for the movie ”Jiangyun Platform,” Song Chi actually didn’t want to stop working.

But the Spring Festival is the most traditional holiday for Chinese people, and Song Chi could sacrifice himself, but it’s not good to make the entire set not go home.

Especially since the film’s completion time is still unknown.

Song Chi said, ”But don’t you have work tomorrow?”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”I have to promote ’Two Tigers.’”

Song Chi nodded and said, ”I also have to promote ’Laissez-faire.’”

The two laughed.

At this moment, Zhou Lan came over and said to Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, New Shield wants you to post on Weibo tonight to promote ’Two Tigers,’ which is released tomorrow.”

Zhou Yun agreed.

Immediately after, Song Chi’s phone rang.

He answered the call and exchanged unknown words with the caller, then shrugged helplessly at Zhou Yun.

After hanging up, Song Chi said, ”It’s another request for me to post on Weibo.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

The two shared another smile.

When the clock struck midnight, Song Chi and Zhou Yun tightly embraced each other.

...

Online discussions about the program ”About Time” are increasing.

Some say the format of this program isn’t that innovative and relies entirely on Guan Xiaohe’s singing and the performances of Song Chi and Zhou Yun.

Others say it’s essentially a song combined with a situational performance; in three minutes, the three portrayed a complete story without any dialogue, seamlessly switching between acting states without distinguishing between being in and out of character. Through positioning and transitions, like a face change performance, they portrayed the changes under the fate of generations, yet touched everyone to tears. How can one improve on such quality?

Someone says, ”I need the link to the outfit Zhou Yun wore at the start within a minute!”

Someone says, ”Song Chi is killing me. A young, handsome, talented actor without being greasy is the white moonlight in my heart; seeing him sit against the wall looking at his wrist, I wish I could rush into the screen, hold him in my arms, and tell him ’Mom’s here!’”

Someone says Guan Xiaohe, as a singer, achieved exceptional acting skills within the atmosphere created by the two movie kings and queens.

Others say these performances can’t distract from the simplicity of the overall program format.

...

Despite the loud online discussions, the performance was crazily shared online.

No matter what, there’s one agreed-upon point: the program is moving, and the ending is very joyful.

A particularly pertinent comment from a netizen says, ”During the New Year, making people laugh and cry, that’s quite something.”

Both ”Two Tigers” and ”Laissez-faire” actively shared the video, riding on the hype, saying: ”This is the strength of our Song Chi/Zhou Yun! See you in theaters tomorrow!”

Zhou Yun and Song Chi received many WeChat messages that night praising how amazing the program was.

After some thought, Zhou Yun and Song Chi decided to post on Weibo.

Zhou Yun posted, Song Chi shared.

Zhou Yun wrote: When invited to participate in this program, the time was tight, and the pressure was immense. Yet, it’s the Spring Festival Gala; despite the pressure, I wanted to perform on this stage and deliver an outstanding performance. Originally, Song Chi and I were to sing this song, but I was worried about being off-key, so we discussed with the director team to change the way the program was presented. The director team seriously told us we only had one chance; if the program we presented wasn’t satisfactory to them, we’d perform according to the original plan. Only if the director team unanimously approved could we perform in the format shown tonight. This gave rise to the previously mentioned five-day rumor online. Song Chi and I wanted to present what we are best at, and so we accepted this challenge, this impossible challenge. Therefore, we must especially thank Guan Xiaohe; if it weren’t for her willingness to believe in us and join us in accepting the challenge, this performance wouldn’t exist. Special thanks to Director Kang Xin, who flew over to accompany our rehearsals for two days during our most challenging times and provided guidance and improvements throughout. Thanks to Teacher Li Chunhong and Teacher Li Li for designing the styles and managing multiple costume changes in our three-minute performance. Finally, thanks to my good friend Zheng Xiaowen from VX and her design team for the three sets of original Chinese-style outfits in just five days. You’re incredible, and I love every one of you!

Zhou Yun’s Weibo post not only responded to previous controversies but also thanked everyone who contributed to tonight’s performance.

The top comment in the comment section says: ”Proven fact, I can always trust Zhou Yun!”

During this time, Zhou Yun’s fans were the most aggrieved.

They fully trusted Zhou Yun and continued to believe she wouldn’t perform perfunctorily despite the many doubting voices online.

In the midst of a storm of pessimistic views, as her fans supported Zhou Yun, they faced attacks and ridicule from many.

But finally, Zhou Yun proved through tonight’s program their support and trust in her!

Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s fans experienced a sense of vindication.

At the same time, they were proud and excited about Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s performance tonight—even though for the two of them, it wasn’t an especially surprising performance. For their acting skills to deliver tonight’s level, it was entirely possible, more than capable, but this was live, and the levels and changes in the three-minute performance, even though not challenging for them, still astonished everyone.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi proved to everyone that their acting skills were not mere reputation.

The next day, viewer ratings were out, ”About Time” became one of the most-watched programs among all song and dance shows. Moreover, the song ”About Time” climbed to the top of the popular charts on all music platforms, with shining results.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi were still lounging in bed.

They were very tired in the recent period, and now they finally had a chance to rest for a while, wanting to lay in bed a bit longer. Because after lying a bit longer, they had to start streaming and connecting with fans to promote their respective movies.
