Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1221: Chapter 664: Don’t Be Jealous

The nomination list for the Qingmu Award naturally attracted a lot of attention.

Zhou Yun also received congratulations from Yao Yuanfeng as usual.

Zhou Yun replied with a simple ”thanks”.

Yin Lin also sent her a message, saying: This time we’ll be competing again.

Followed by a laughing emoji.

Zhou Yun asked: Sister Lin, will you be attending the award ceremony?

Yin Lin replied: Yes, I will. What about you?

Zhou Yun said: If Sister Lin is going, I definitely have to go compete for attention.

Yin Lin sent a string of ”hahaha”s.

Zheng Xiaowen sent her congratulatory messages right away and then asked if Zhou Yun had decided on her Qingmu Award red carpet outfit.

Zhou Yun had just received tremendous support from Zheng Xiaowen at the Spring Festival Gala, so of course, she would do Zheng Xiaowen a favor this time and wear VX.

Zhou Yun said: I’m waiting for you to lend me clothes.

Zheng Xiaowen immediately sent a dancing emoji and said: Our new season’s collection, feel free to choose.

Zhou Yun had worn gowns to previous red carpet events, but this time she didn’t want to be too over-the-top.

After all, she knew clearly her chance of winning was slim, and dressing too grandly would make her seem desperate for an award.

She planned to just wear a ready-to-wear suit.

V Magazine invited Zhou Yun and Song Chi to do a joint cover shoot for the new season, which was an invitation they had accepted previously.

This shoot would be on the ”Jiangyun Platform” set, with V Magazine planning a ”main character on set” theme, using the film set as the background for the shoot.

After finishing the cover shoot for V Magazine, Zhou Yun temporarily ended her out-of-set work and prepared to go overseas with Wen Bing to shoot ”Female Assassin”.

Zhou Yun was filled with anticipation for this movie.

Especially since this shoot was different from ”Life” and ”Two Tigers”, both of which Zhou Yun had filmed for a short amount of time, while ”Female Assassin” was to be shot for nearly a hundred days, across multiple countries, without knowing if they could finish on time.

This was the first time Zhou Yun was officially starring in such an action blockbuster, compared to ”Four Killers”, which was set in the Republic era, focused on action fights and suspense, ”Female Assassin” aligned with recent years’ popular international action movies, set in different countries and aimed at large-scale scenes.

Zhou Lan was especially worried about Zhou Yun getting injured, reminding her repeatedly not to take risks.

Zhou Yun wasn’t concerned about getting hurt at all; she was eager to shoot ”Female Assassin”.

”Female Assassin” had many characters, all encountered by Zhou Yun’s character in the movie.

They wouldn’t be filming with the crew throughout, but instead would join according to the filming schedule.

Only Zhou Yun would be shooting from beginning to end.

Zhou Lan said: ”I find that when you’re filming Wen Bing’s movies, you’re at your most relaxed and creative.”

Hearing Zhou Lan’s words, Zhou Yun thought for a moment, nodded, and said: ”That’s true, maybe because Wen Bing and I are close in age, have collaborated before, and have a great rapport; I trust him completely, and I never need to worry about whether what I say or suggest is appropriate in front of him.”

Zhou Lan: ”Yes, I’ve noticed that too. Wen Bing is the kind of director you would be very willing to work with regardless of the movie or role.”

Zhou Yun nodded: ”Of course.”

Zhou Lan sighed.

”It’s actually quite good; many famous actors have directors they’ve consistently collaborated with, and Wen Bing seems to share that kind of relationship with you.”

”By the way, Xiao Yun, there’s something else I need to tell you.” Zhou Lan said, ”I heard Xu Guiying got into trouble.”

”Trouble?”

Zhou Yun was surprised.

”Yes, her backstage operations were investigated, and she got into trouble; it seems she was set up and now needs to pay a large sum of money; otherwise, she’ll face jail time. She’s currently trying to raise money everywhere,” Zhou Lan said, ”I only found out because a close friend mentioned it.”

Zhou Yun’s mind began to turn.

”What about Yu Zhiyang?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Do you think I could use this opportunity to get Yu Zhiyang to terminate his contract with her?”

Since Zhou Yun had seamlessly gone into filming, she hadn’t seen Yu Zhiyang for a long time and usually only chatted with him online.

Zhou Yun always had a bit of concern for Yu Zhiyang.

His situation made Zhou Yun care for him more.

Because of Xu Guiying, Zhou Yun often felt powerless, unable to help Yu Zhiyang progress in the industry—it was clear Xu Guiying didn’t want Yu Zhiyang to be successful.
