Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1230: Chapter 667: A Woman’s Wisdom

Song Chi’s point is that Zhou Yun doesn’t need to directly clash with Yao Yuanfeng.

Right now, there’s already some awkwardness between Zhou Yun and Yao Yuanfeng because of the success of ”Two Tigers” Part Two. If she goes to talk to Yao Yuanfeng about the filming of ”Female Assassin” at this time, it will be easy for Yao Yuanfeng to develop other thoughts, even if Zhou Yun has no such intentions.

For instance, Yao Yuanfeng might think Zhou Yun is exploiting the situation.

Zhou Yun put aside the idea of calling Yao Yuanfeng.

As Song Chi said, there’s indeed no need.

Zeng Yeng looks amiable and easy to talk to, but in reality, it’s not quite so. Zhou Yun had a deep understanding of this during the next few days of interacting with her.

The first few days of shooting involved filming some less significant scenes.

But what’s considered less significant is only in terms of the main storyline of this movie.

These scenes themselves are very meaningful for shaping the character of Qiu Qian, the female assassin.

These scenes are all shot outdoors.

Zeng Yeng is on-site every day. Her presence on the set doesn’t affect Zhou Yun’s mood for acting, but Zhou Yun doesn’t like how every time she goes to discuss the quality of the just-shot scene with Wen Bing, Zeng Yeng always pops up, smiling and joining their discussion.

Once or twice can be tolerated, but when Zhou Yun and Wen Bing talk about trying different effects for a shot and decide to shoot a few more takes for safety, Zeng Yeng suddenly says, ”Is it necessary to waste time shooting these few more takes? Director Wen, Xiao Yun, our filming progress is already a bit slower than planned.”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, turned directly to Zeng Yeng, and said, ”Sister Yeng, could you please stay away when I’m discussing filming with the director?”

Zeng Yeng was taken aback.

”Xiao Yun, have I upset you somehow? Sorry, let me apologize first. I didn’t mean anything by it, but given that the film is shot abroad, the financial pressure is huge, and I’m just ensuring that we don’t struggle so much in filming later,” Zeng Yeng said. ”After all, the scenes we’re filming now aren’t particularly important content, they’re just transitional scenes, right?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Sister Yeng, I don’t mean to target you, but I don’t like being interrupted by others when I’m discussing performance-related matters with the director.”

She felt that Zeng Yeng would frequently and boldly interrupt with suggestions because she hadn’t expressed her resistance the first time it happened.

Zeng Yeng showed an embarrassed smile.

”I see, well, I’ll pay attention next time.”

”Thank you, Sister Yeng.”

Many staff members witnessed Zhou Yun’s attitude.

This matter also spread among the crew.

This was the first time Zhou Yun showed a strong stance after joining the ”Female Assassin” crew, and it was aimed at Zeng Yeng.

Zeng Yeng held significant power in the ”Female Assassin” crew.

Those who manage the money always have power, especially when backed by New Shield and Yao Yuanfeng.

Wen Bing, although he is a contracted director with New Shield, mostly has an externally sourced filming team.

For a major production like ”Female Assassin,” New Shield doesn’t have enough talent reserves to provide top-notch talent for every role.

Zeng Yeng has always gently but firmly controlled everything in the crew, big and small, requiring her approval to proceed.

Everyone working for New Shield would show some deference to Zeng Yeng.

No one expected Zhou Yun to suddenly show no deference to Zeng Yeng.

Face is an enigmatic existence, but it’s a crucial aspect of interpersonal relations, and no one would lightly disregard it.

If possible, Zhou Yun wouldn’t take the risk of offending someone by disrespecting them.

It’s just that she has things she values the most, and nothing should affect that.

Moreover, only certain words can be spoken by her.

Because only when she says them, would Zeng Yeng take them seriously and listen.

The urban scenes were filmed for five days, finally coming to a close.

These five days were all spent filming her solo scenes.

Most of the time was spent filming Zhou Yun moving through crowds, transitioning, or buying things.

These, when placed in the movie later, will mainly serve as transitional scenes. As Zeng Yeng said, they are scenes that aren’t important for the main film.
