Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1202: Chapter 658: Golden Ball Awards Ceremony_6

Zhou Yun: ”This feels like I’m completely exploiting my own name.”

”You consume yourself, no one can say anything about it.”

”But won’t this drain my energy too much? I’m just worried that handling this will take up a lot of my time.”

”You can find reliable partners to work with you, but this can’t be rushed. You’re not going to start this company as soon as you return, are you?” Zhou Lan said, ”First, look and see if there’s anyone suitable. If there’s no one suitable, everything is just talk.”

Zhou Yun chatted with Zhou Lan for a long time, and the more they talked, the more excited she became.

After discussing this matter, they went out to have lunch at a restaurant, then prepared to go to the airport to return to the country.

It was at this moment that Zhou Yun received a last-minute invitation to the Spring Festival Gala.

The rehearsals for the Spring Festival Gala had already started long ago, with rounds of selections filtering through many rounds. Zhou Yun didn’t expect to receive an invitation at this time.

When she received the call, they were still at the airport in the United States, not yet boarded.

The directing team wanted to invite Song Chi and Zhou Yun to sing a song together.

Upon hearing about singing, Zhou Yun nearly fainted.

She wanted to politely decline, considering many concerns, but the director strongly persuaded her and mentioned it was the instruction of a senior leader.

Zhou Yun then understood why after several rounds of rehearsals, she was suddenly approached.

It turns out it was the intention of someone in a high position of power.

The exact words were: ”In recent years, who’s better representative of our country’s artists than Zhou Yun? Why haven’t you invited her to the Spring Festival Gala?”

Thus, the director’s team called.

After some hesitation, Zhou Yun finally agreed.

The Spring Festival Gala holds a very special meaning for every Chinese person.

Zhou Yun also hopes to participate in one Spring Festival Gala, to leave her mark.

However, she proposed that the performance with Song Chi could include a few more people.

She thought that since she and Song Chi are both bringing up newcomers, it would be nice if they could make an appearance at the Spring Festival Gala.

The directing team found Zhou Yun’s request quite difficult.

For the Spring Festival Gala, what programs and artists appear must be approved from above.

When Zhou Yun heard they were troubled, she said forget it.

She didn’t want to complicate anyone else’s work. She thought that since it was her and Song Chi’s performance, bringing a few newcomers in would just mean she and Song Chi sang a bit less, and she didn’t intend to sing much anyway.

...

After returning to the country, Zhou Yun hurriedly went to meet with Wen Bing.

”Female Assassin” is scheduled to start filming in March, and she and Wen Bing need to communicate about many ideas concerning the script and characters.

This movie is planned to be shot on location, so most of the scenes will be filmed abroad. Such a subject, if not shot with a foreign background, wouldn’t be able to be released in the mainland.

Wen Bing had been conducting on-site inspections abroad, scouting locations.

Thanks to having a big company like New Shield as a backer for coordination, it saved Wen Bing a lot of trouble in this cross-country filming.

Wen Bing was worried she had no experience directing overseas and feared issues, if unable to be promptly solved, might prevent the planned shooting schedule.

Zhou Yun told Wen Bing: ”It’s okay. I have no other work scheduled afterward. If it’s delayed, then it’s delayed. I’ll definitely stay with you until the last day.”

Wen Bing smiled, saying: ”That’s good.”

”’Two Tigers’ is about to be released. Aren’t you doing promo runs?”

”I don’t have time to promote ’Two Tigers’ right now. If I don’t finalize the location for ’Female Assassin’ during this period, then in a week ’Two Tigers’ will enter an intensive promotional period, and I really won’t be able to escape then.” Wen Bing said, ”I heard you’re going on the Spring Festival Gala?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded, saying: ”That’s the current arrangement. I originally wanted to promote ’Two Tigers’ after my performance, but the directing team didn’t agree, not even an extra sentence.”

Wen Bing laughed, saying: ”Well, that’s unlikely. Every line on the Spring Festival Gala has to be pre-written and submitted for approval.”

”If I could promote ’Two Tigers’ on the Spring Festival Gala, the box office wouldn’t be a worry.”

”The competition during the Spring Festival season is fierce. Currently, ’Two Tigers’ presales are alright, but it’s a large investment film. If the box office doesn’t hold up in the first few days, there’s no extra space, and the screening schedule could be immediately squeezed out by other films.” Wen Bing said, ”I’m really afraid it’ll lose money. This is the first film I’ve directed with such a large investment, and I also invited Liang Yuanpu to star. You don’t know how much Yao Yuanfeng has invested in marketing this film. I can’t sleep thinking about this at night.”
