Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1206: Chapter 659: An Idea (3)

To be honest, many celebrities and artists sing off-key, after all, not everyone is a singer.

But few people would frankly expose this as a problem.

”Uh...”

After hearing about this issue, the chief director said, ”Xiao Yun, here’s the thing, we will work hard to practice this song well, and if we really can’t, we’ll record a version in advance and play that version at the time.”

Zhou Yun: ”...Ah, is it lip-syncing?”

The chief director said, ”We can’t let the whole nation listen to an off-key performance, right? This is the Spring Festival Gala.”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath and said, ”Sigh, that’s why I really can’t participate in any singing activities.”

Her eyes suddenly lit up and she said, ”How about letting Song Chi sing this song, and I just won’t sing?”

”Then what are you doing standing next to him?” the chief director asked.

”How about I do a martial arts performance?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Actually, I’ve been doing motion training recently and I’m about to play a killer. I think a martial arts performance would definitely be better than singing.”

The chief director looked speechless at this young beautiful celebrity in front of him and said, ”Our song is about love; you’re going to do a martial arts performance during a love song performance?”

Zhou Yun sighed awkwardly.

Song Chi knew that Zhou Yun was a bit afraid of singing.

But in this matter, he didn’t have any good solutions either.

Zhou Yun and he were named to perform at the Spring Festival Gala. If she didn’t sing, Zhou Yun could only recite poetry or perform a skit.

But other people’s skits have been polished for half a year or a year; who is she going to perform for at this time?

No matter which skit she performs, another actress would inevitably have to be replaced.

If that’s the case, Zhou Yun would definitely not accept it.

In the end, Zhou Yun could only grit her teeth and sing this song with Song Chi.

The chief director listened to the whole performance and said, ”It’s not bad; you’re not tone-deaf.”

”Don’t you think I’m breathless and can’t hit the high notes?” Zhou Yun asked.

She had a face full of awkwardness.

The chief director said, ”No worries, you’re an actress; the audience doesn’t have such high expectations for your singing.”

When Zhou Yun heard the chief director say this, she sighed.

The two left the studio and returned to the dressing room.

In the corridor, there were many staff and actors coming and going.

The Spring Festival Gala stage is flooded with dancers.

Every program has lots of dancers to enhance the magnificence of the whole stage.

As Zhou Yun and Song Chi reached the dressing room door, they heard someone crying inside.

Zhou Yun stopped in her tracks.

She looked inside in surprise and asked softly, ”What’s going on?”

Inside, someone was lying on the table crying.

Song Chi shook his head.

Today, the singer Zhang Huaiqiu, who also came for the rehearsal, returned.

He saw the situation inside, was somewhat surprised, and immediately went in to ask, ”Xiaohe, what’s wrong?”

The person crying on the table inside was Guan Xiaohe, a young singer who became popular this year.

Guan Xiaohe raised her head, showing her red eyes, and looked at Zhang Huaiqiu in grievance, saying, ”My program got axed.”

Zhou Yun and Song Chi also went in and sat down, hearing Guan Xiaohe speak with Zhang Huaiqiu, they exchanged glances.

As the grandest and most high-profile event of the year, many programs want to be on the Spring Festival Gala every year; due to reasons such as broadcast duration, program direction, celebrity status, or proportion of different program types, many programs get axed.

The same goes for the rehearsal stage.

Guan Xiaohe, as a young singer, was going to perform on the Spring Festival Gala with an old senior this time, but unfortunately, this old senior was suddenly exposed to have an illegitimate child and an affair.

She was directly implicated and her program got axed.

After Zhou Yun and Song Chi heard everyone explaining it clearly, they both felt that Guan Xiaohe was quite unlucky.

Because of something unrelated to her, the program she had prepared so hard for so long got axed.

Not only the hard work, but a young singer like Guan Xiaohe who just became popular had to leverage a lot of connections to successfully secure a Spring Festival Gala entry ticket.

Zhou Yun thought about herself again and sighed, ”Oh well, what is there to worry about, since the Spring Festival Gala needs me, even if I go off-key, I must do it.”

Zhou Yun does not have the pure artist type of personality.

Her thinking has been influenced since childhood by ”not troubling others” and ”considering the bigger picture”, resisting stubbornly, but if others really need her, she’ll often feel obliged to do it if she can.

”Xiao Yun.” Song Chi suddenly thought of something, eyes brightening, ”I have an idea!”

Zhou Yun looked at him puzzled and asked, ”What idea?”
