Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1224: Chapter 665: The Days Ahead Are Long

Song Chi crawled out of the pool in a disheveled state, completely soaked.

An assistant brought over a blanket, which he wrapped around himself as he headed over to the director to view the recent footage.

”One more take, okay?” Zuo Hang said, ”You can give it a bit more intensity at this point.”

Song Chi said, ”Alright, it’s hard to exert much strength in the water.”

”Hmm.” Zuo Hang nodded, ”Thank you for your hard work.”

This underwater rescue scene has been filming for five days, yet it’s still unfinished.

Song Chi has been soaking in the water every day, and his skin has turned several shades lighter.

He went over to take a break while they re-arranged the pool.

Upon checking his phone, he saw the message Zhou Yun had sent him.

Song Chi was a bit puzzled.

Why did Zhou Yun suddenly tell him this?

However, the fact that Zhou Yun shared this with him still brought a smile to his face.

”Brother Chi, what are you smiling about?” asked a curious actor filming alongside.

Song Chi wiped the smile off his face, saying, ”Nothing.”

He rarely liked revealing previous matters between him and Zhou Yun to others.

Song Chi sent Zhou Yun a message, saying: Did someone say something to you? Don’t worry, I don’t mind.

At this moment, Zhou Yun had already boarded the plane and was quietly reading during the long flight, needing quite a while before seeing Song Chi’s reply.

Song Chi continued thrashing in the pool until past nine at night. Once he climbed out, he felt utterly exhausted, unable to muster any energy.

Filming a disaster movie like ”Jiangyun Platform” truly wears actors out.

For the past few days, Song Chi has been soaking in the pool for over nine hours daily, which was just the basic requirement; the crucial part was that he had intense action scenes in the water.

Anyone who’s moved about in water knows that movements in water are several times more challenging than on land.

Each day after his bouts of struggle, he’s so hungry his front sticks to his back.

On this day, after wrapping up shooting, Song Chi couldn’t head straight to rest.

Wu Chengbao came over with Yu Zhiyang to meet him.

Song Chi quickly showered, cleaning himself up and changing into casual wear, before heading to the restaurant.

Wu Chengbao and Yu Zhiyang were waiting for him at the restaurant.

The two had already had their dinner; only Song Chi hadn’t.

Song Chi avoided eating carbs at night, opting for a plate of salad, corn, shrimp, and chicken breast.

Starving, even these tasted incredibly delicious to him.

After a couple of bites, once he overcame that wave of hunger, he could attend to talking to Yu Zhiyang.

”Zhiyang, your Sister Xiao Yun went to Australia today for filming. It’ll be a while before she comes back, so I called you over here. I heard from Xiao Yun that you’re an actor, right?”

Yu Zhiyang slowly nodded before saying, ”But I haven’t done much acting.”

Previously under Xu Guiying’s supervision, Xu Guiying didn’t want Yu Zhiyang to become popular, intentionally controlling his development and mostly putting him in marginal roles.

Song Chi said, ”No worries, experience can be accumulated over time. I started as a newcomer too. But do you like acting?”

Yu Zhiyang seemed a bit bewildered.

”I don’t know.”

He felt he couldn’t say he liked it or disliked it.

Song Chi said, ”It’s okay, we’ll slowly learn what acting is about. Both your Sister Xiao Yun and I are actors; maybe we can only help you on this path, but if you have other things you want to do in the future, let us know. You’re not bound to be an actor.”

Yu Zhiyang gave a subdued nod.

Song Chi didn’t know what Yu Zhiyang had gone through; he seemed even more taciturn than before, more resistant to this world.

Song Chi didn’t know exactly what Xu Guiying did to Yu Zhiyang, causing a teenager of eighteen or nineteen to become so gloomy.

At first, Song Chi’s concern for Yu Zhiyang stemmed from Zhou Yun’s concern for him.

But at this moment, Song Chi suddenly began to understand Zhou Yun’s care for Yu Zhiyang.

Ultimately, humans are emotional creatures, innately empathetic.

Zhou Yun felt empathy for Yu Zhiyang, and so did he.

Song Chi looked into Yu Zhiyang’s eyes, saying: ”Zhiyang, whatever happened in the past is behind you now. You have a long life ahead and can completely leave the past behind to walk your future path.”

Yu Zhiyang uttered a faint ”Mm” and nodded.

Song Chi looked at Yu Zhiyang, feeling a tinge of helplessness.
