Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1232: Chapter 667: A Woman’s Wisdom (3)

Zhou Yun shook his head and said, ”Sister Yeng, your words make me even more anxious. I’m just an actor, I just want to do my part well.”

”Ah, making a movie is like that, every crew may consist of strangers who have never worked together before. It takes time to adapt and get along, so I really envy Director Wen Bing. You’ve known him for so long already, you must understand each other well.”

”He and I simply respect each other’s work habits,” Zhou Yun said. ”He always has all sorts of wild ideas, but he won’t force me to film according to his concepts. If, in the end, I truly can’t comprehend, he’ll compromise and opt for a method that both of us can accept.”

”Really?”

”Yeah, although he seems like an unruly artist who listens to no one, in reality, with proper communication, he can fully grasp our ideas.”

Zhou Yun smiled and told Zeng Yeng, ”Sister Yeng, there are very few women behind the scenes in this industry, and even fewer who have succeeded as producers like you. Before even meeting you, I’d heard many stories about you. I completely understand the importance of a movie’s budget and financial management. I also know how challenging it is to handle this massive array of tasks, but trust me, everyone who wants this movie to succeed is just like you, aiming to complete this movie well. During the creative process, we may come up with many new inspirations and ideas, but neither I nor Director Wen Bing would ever use a method that would ruin the movie to achieve our own visions.”

Zeng Yeng nodded and said, ”Of course I believe you. Even before working with you, I’ve heard from many others how great of an actor you are to collaborate with.”

It truly wasn’t Zeng Yeng flattering Zhou Yun, trying to say something pleasant.

Compared to actors of the same level or even ordinary actors, Zhou Yun was someone with very few demands.

He wouldn’t insist on not filming night scenes, wouldn’t demand a workday less than eight hours, didn’t have any contractual stipulations about staying in the finest hotels, nor had any unbelievable meal budgets of hundreds or thousands per seating.

After filming with Zhou Yun for several days, Zeng Yeng genuinely realized that Zhou Yun’s ”good reputation” wasn’t just puffery from others.

”Sister Yeng, we still have many challenges ahead that we need to face together. Let’s keep going!” Zhou Yun said to Zeng Yeng.

On the way back, Zeng Yeng kept replaying tonight’s dinner in her mind.

She initially intended to win Zhou Yun to her side, yet ended up being moved by Zhou Yun.

While puzzled, Zeng Yeng also gained a new perspective on Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun wasn’t simple.

This, instead, made Zeng Yeng admire her more.

On the train to the next location, Zhou Yun and Wen Bing sat together.

Wen Bing asked her, ”Did Zeng Yeng ask you to dinner yesterday?”

”Yeah, how did you know?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Did Zeng Yeng tell you?”

”She posted on WeChat, saying that after having dinner with you, she profoundly realized that beneath your beauty lies a remarkable wisdom.”

”Wow, she really praised me.” Zhou Yun hadn’t seen the post from Zeng Yeng on WeChat before.

Wen Bing chuckled and said, ”That’s why I’m curious about what you said to her to make her talk about your significant wisdom.”

”What, in your eyes, do I not deserve such praise?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Are you suggesting I lack impressive wisdom?”

”You definitely have it; that’s not what I meant. It’s just that it’s rare for Zeng Yeng to praise you like that.”

”She isn’t some menacing monster. Praising me a few times isn’t unusual, right? We’re collaborating on a movie now; she praises me, and I praise her.”

”You embarrassed her in front of many people just the other day.”

”That was an unintended mistake. I didn’t purposely aim to embarrass her. I genuinely dislike others interfering when you and I are discussing roles and performances.”

”That’s just how she is.”

”So I needed to clarify things with her. If she considers my words embarrassing, then so be it. I didn’t mean to embarrass her when I said them.”

”I know.”

”Wen Bing, any conflicts between you and her need to be resolved by yourselves,” Zhou Yun said. ”You two are the most powerful figures in this crew. If you don’t settle the disputes, this movie will face numerous troubles later during filming.”

Zhou Yun said sincerely.
