Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1219: Chapter 663: Qingmu Award Nomination (Part 2)

Zhou Yun said, ”It’s okay, Sister Lan. Let Yao Yuanfeng do whatever he wants. Since he believes the box office of ’Two Tigers’ has nothing to do with me, we won’t participate in the promotion of this film anymore.”

Zhou Lan was a bit surprised and asked, ”Are we just letting this slip away? ’Two Tigers’ is expected to break thirty billion at the domestic box office. Aren’t we going to counterattack the press releases issued by New Shield?”

”There’s nothing to retaliate against; it was just a cameo film,” said Zhou Yun. ”Sister Lan, I’m about to start filming ’Female Assassin.’ Let’s talk after I finish this movie.”

Zhou Lan nodded.

”What about ’Two Tigers’ second part?”

”Let’s talk about it later,” Zhou Yun said. ”After I finish filming ’Female Assassin,’ I need to take a break. I have to go abroad later this year to shoot ’Killing Song.’ Even if we’re making ’Two Tigers’ second part, it definitely won’t start this year.”

Zhou Lan understood Zhou Yun’s intentions.

That means we’ll set it aside for now.

Zhou Lan nodded.

...

Zhou Yun didn’t have any private communication with Yao Yuanfeng either.

If things are spelled out at their level, it would be hard to mend in the future.

Neither Zhou Yun nor Yao Yuanfeng would easily reach that point.

The excitement of the Spring Festival continues.

When the box office of ’Laissez-faire’ finally broke ten billion, the box office for ’Two Tigers’ also surpassed twenty billion.

New Shield hosted a celebration party, inviting many people, including lots of media, but Zhou Yun did not attend.

Someone on-site asked why Zhou Yun didn’t attend.

Yao Yuanfeng answered on-site, ”Zhou Yun is actively preparing for the filming of ’Female Assassin,’ and couldn’t come due to reasons.”

That day, someone photographed Zhou Yun meeting and chatting with Wen Xi at a café.

Fans felt puzzled.

Zhou Yun had time to drink coffee with Wen Xi but no time to attend the celebration party for ’Two Tigers’?

These questioning voices did not attract much attention.

If the box office momentum of ’Two Tigers’ is good, no one would suspect a conflict between Zhou Yun and New Shield.

The first to notice this was Wen Bing.

Wen Bing asked Zhou Yun why she didn’t attend the celebration party.

Zhou Yun said, ”I just made a cameo. There’s nothing to celebrate.”

Wen Bing didn’t reply for a long time, about half an hour later, he sent a message: No matter what others say, you are more than just a cameo to this film; I know you have put in a lot for this film to achieve this level of success.

Wen Bing has now become the most renowned director in the industry.

Unlike directors of other Spring Festival films, Wen Bing’s films have a strong auteur presence.

Whether it’s ’Life’ or ’Two Tigers,’ the films have a vastly different vibe compared to other similar-themed films.

Not only did he accumulate a large fan base with these two films, but more importantly, through them, he showcased his ability as a director to handle different genres and his box office appeal.

Unfortunately, Wen Bing signed a contract with New Shield, and other film companies can’t get him to sign new projects.

Wen Bing has become proof of Yao Yuanfeng’s keen insight in the media.

The story of how Yao Yuanfeng signed Wen Bing, the talented ad director, directly after watching an ad film during ’Life’s publicity, has become widely circulated.

Zhou Yun said to Wen Bing, ”It’s okay, we’ll focus on making ’Female Assassin’ well.”

It was at this time that the nominations for the 54th Qingmu Awards were announced.

Zhou Yun was nominated for Best Actress for ’Behind the Scenes’ for the second time, while Zeng Lili was also nominated as Best Actress, You Jiang was nominated for Best Actor, and Wang Jing, unfortunately, did not make it as Best Supporting Actress.

For a moment, the Qingmu Awards nomination list caught everyone’s attention.

What surprised everyone most was that this year’s Spring Festival films all applied for the Qingmu Awards and were nominated.

Song Chi was nominated for Best Actor for ’Laissez-faire,’ Zhang Hongyu was nominated for Best Actress for ’Laissez-faire,’ Jiang Yuzhen was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Mo Yu was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. ’Laissez-faire’ received nominations for all four major performance awards.

’Two Tigers’ was nominated for Best Director but did not receive any nominations in the performance awards.

Meanwhile, Shen Yao was nominated for Best Actor for ’I’m the Boss.’
