Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1079: Chapter 620: Three Dramas, Part 2

Zheng Xiaojue caught on and nodded, ”Oh right, they’re bound to clash eventually.”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun said, ”Just wait and see.”

As Zhou Yun had anticipated, that night, ”Linjiang Immortal” premiered.

Su Yan and Xu Siyao, as the two main stars, collaborated with the production team for a joint live session.

Now in the internet age, joint live sessions have gradually become a common promotional method.

As a result, the two male leads dressed casually, while the two women were clad in extravagant outfits, with immaculate makeup and hair, as if ready to hit some red carpet.

The host, whether genuinely clueless or deliberately stirring trouble, commented, ”The two actresses are dressed so lavishly today, simply stunning.”

Xu Siyao chuckled twice and said, ”I’m nowhere near as dressed up as Sister Su Yan!”

Su Yan chuckled twice and said, ”What are you saying? I just finished a magazine shoot and didn’t have time to take off my makeup. It’s you, Siyao, aren’t you at home? Why’re you dressed so glamorously?”

Xu Siyao blinked her big eyes and said, ”Sister Su Yan, I’m just like you, I’ve just wrapped up work and rushed back, didn’t even have time to remove my makeup. Thankfully, you’re with me today, otherwise, I’d be quite odd on my own.”

”I’m getting ready to take off my makeup here, don’t mind me, I’ll chat with you guys while I do it, and when the session ends, I’ll be all set to go home.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Siyao certainly refused to lag behind.

”Then I’ll remove my makeup with you, I have to get up early for work tomorrow, this saves me a lot of time,” Xu Siyao said.

...

Consequently, that evening, the scene where Su Yan and Xu Siyao removed their makeup during the live session quickly spread, becoming a widely shared iconic moment.

After filming the last scene for the day, Zhou Yun saw this video while on the car back to the hotel and laughed heartily. But after laughing, Zhou Yun felt a bit disheartened. Although the two had eagerly started pecking at each other, they undeniably generated considerable buzz and attention for ”Linjiang Immortal,” which was beneficial for the show.

Beneficial for ”Linjiang Immortal,” but not so much for Zhou Yun.

In front of others, Zhou Yun might mind her image and hold back on certain words. But alone, she faced her feelings directly.

Su Yan and Xu Siyao were the two people she disliked and least wanted to see in the industry. Them starring together in a show, she just hoped the show would flop as badly as possible.

Ideally, flop to the extent it affects their reputations, making producers hesitate to hire them again.

But Zhou Yun knew that wishing for this was unrealistic.

Not only was it unlikely for the show to flop with those two boosting it, even if it did flop, a show or two wouldn’t affect actresses of their stature, especially Su Yan.

In fact, the buzz around ”Linjiang Immortal” wasn’t even lacking, it was quite high, with its premiere ratings only slightly trailing behind ”Dragon Ascending,” which had aired for several days, directly breaking the 1 rating mark.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but worry about ”Mother.”

”Dragon Ascending,” being a family ensemble drama, was steadily gaining rating and discussion heat as it continued to air, earning goodwill, with Yu Sitian benefiting too, scoring two endorsements.

Now ”Linjiang Immortal” came thrashing in, and with Su Yan and Xu Siyao stirring up, unless the show was exceedingly poor, they’d spare no effort to market themselves, implying endless buzz for the show.

Under the siege of these two shows, ”Mother” had increasingly slim chances of survival.

With only one major celebrity like Zhang Hongyu, who isn’t the type today’s youth passionately follow, Zhou Yun worried about ”Mother’s” performance ratings.

Zhou Yun was troubled by this but couldn’t discuss it with Song Chi.

Song Chi, being the producer, would be even more anxious.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to talk to Zhou Lan.

But Zhou Lan laughed and said, ”What are you thinking? You think Song Chi has wasted his years in the entertainment circle? Not to mention Zhang Hongyu, regardless, mainstream media will at least review a series starring Zhang Hongyu. You think the Movie Queen title came for nothing? ’Mother’ isn’t the topic today’s youth are enthusiastic about, too much promotion is counterproductive, gradual progress is better.”
