Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1059: Chapter 613: Last-Minute Invitation (3)

”Ah?” Zhou Lan was a bit worried. ”Then what should we do? Wen Bing wants you to join the group in January for action training, ’Female Assassin’ is set to start shooting in March.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Explain to Wen Bing about it, I’ll call him. Besides, action training doesn’t necessarily need me to join the group. Can’t we bring the martial arts instructor here to train me?”

Zhou Lan said, ”I’ll communicate with them first. Sigh, it’s really a headache, time is so tight. By the way, tomorrow is the day the Berlin Film Festival announces the film list, it’s said that ’Falling Leaves’ will be shortlisted, but it’s not yet confirmed which category.”

”Berlin Film Festival?”

”Yes, ’Falling Leaves’ has been waiting for news on this side.” Zhou Lan said, ”But whether ’Falling Leaves’ gets shortlisted or not, you must attend this time’s opening ceremony red carpet. Jinling Jewelry has sponsored this event, as their spokesperson, you need to attend.”

”Got it.”

”I hope ’Chen Yin’ can be finished smoothly, otherwise the impact is quite significant.” Zhou Lan said, ”There’s a lot of work coming up, in a few days, the United States Golden Ball awards will also announce their nomination list.”

”Ah? Golden Ball?”

”Yes, ’Behind the Scenes’ has a great hope of getting a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Ball. We are also fully committed to lobbying for your Best Actress nomination.”

”Is there hope?”

”From the current situation, not much hope.” Zhou Lan said, ”We got involved too late, and indeed we faced a lot of resistance. Many people think relying on a foreign language film for lobbying a Best Actress nomination is unrealistic, they are reluctant to support us, sigh.”

”It makes sense, just keep a calm mind.” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan murmured in agreement.

”But, Xiao Yun, if tomorrow ’Falling Leaves’ is really shortlisted for the Berlin International Film Festival main competition unit, won’t attending the ’Mother’ press conference seem a bit like stealing the spotlight?” Zhou Lan reminded.

Zhou Yun thought it over, hesitating.

If the main protagonist of ’Mother’ were a man, that would be different, but this film revolves around Zhang Hongyu, the seasoned Movie Queen, as the definite main protagonist.

If Zhou Yun appears at the press conference, coinciding with the Berlin International Film Festival’s announcement, it might indeed lead to such an outcome.

Zhou Yun thought it over seriously.

This film is produced by Song Chi’s company.

Song Chi had never personally asked her to stand in for promotion before, but this time, hearing she was ”on holiday,” he took the opportunity to invite her.

From a publicity standpoint, if she attends the press conference, it will capture more attention, attracting more focus on the film ’Mother.’

But from Zhang Hongyu’s standpoint, she should be the main focus at tomorrow’s conference.

Zhou Yun called Song Chi back, sharing her concerns.

Song Chi said, ”Your concerns are actually not a problem, Sister Hongyu can’t make it, she’s filming another project and can’t come over.”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun was taken aback.

Zhang Hongyu is central to ’Mother,’ yet she couldn’t attend the press conference.

Zhou Yun was quite shocked.

She suddenly understood why Song Chi unexpectedly invited her.

If she were filming in the ’Chen Yin’ crew, even if Zhang Hongyu couldn’t make it, Song Chi wouldn’t have asked. It’s because Zhou Yun happened to have time, Song Chi invited her.

Zhou Yun said, ”Alright, I’ll fly over first thing tomorrow.”

...

Song Chi was also a bit upset about this, but it couldn’t be helped.

Being an actor himself, Song Chi could empathize with Zhang Hongyu’s situation.

It’s just that the broadcast is imminent, and this scheduled press conference holds critical significance for the promotion of the drama ’Mother.’

With Zhang Hongyu unable to attend, Song Chi had to find ways to boost the attention for the press conference.

’Mother’ was initially tailored for Zhang Hongyu, the investment wasn’t massive, but not small either; Zhang Hongyu’s own fee exceeded ten million.

Song Chi naturally hoped not to see the drama fail and be ignored.

Many media, upon receiving invitations, would inquire which celebrities will attend the conference.

And the attending celebrities determine the level of reporters they send to the press conference.

Song Chi attending is a given, but aside from him, the other actors in ’Mother’ are not well-known, too few Starlight, hardly sparking any follow-up discussions.

Zhou Yun coming over allowed Song Chi to breathe a small sigh of relief.
