Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1089: Chapter 623: Enjoying the Show as Onlookers (Part 3)

”I’ve seen a lot of viewers saying that after watching ’Linjiang Immortal,’ they really look forward to the day when they can see you and Lew Qingqing play dual female leads. Is there a chance for that?”

Su Yan laughed heartily and said, ”That would depend on future opportunities and whether there’s a suitable script for the two of us. I haven’t acted in a dual female lead drama yet, but working with Siyao was quite enjoyable. I even told her that she performed so well in this drama that she could go for the Best Supporting Actress award. Of course, if there’s a suitable role for Qingqing and me, I’d definitely take it. It hasn’t been easy for Qingqing these past two years, and I’m more than willing to support her.”

That afternoon, Xu Siyao was interviewed at a commercial event and said, ”Huh? Sister Su Yan said she praised my performance in this drama and said I could go for an award? She must have remembered wrong; she never praised me like that.”

When Lew Qingqing was interviewed by Weibo Drama, she laughed and said, ”I’ve never acted in a suspense horror drama, so I was really interested when approached. I never consider the investment scale when accepting a role; I just look at the script and whether the character is someone I want to play. I’m honored that ’Heart Palpitating’ was liked by so many people on the first day of its premiere. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a drama that the audience could watch, and I didn’t expect so many fans to still be following my shows. Please help with the promotion, everyone.”

”Have you been following ’Linjiang Immortal’? Many people are saying they’d like to see you and Su Yan in a dual female lead drama.”

Lew Qingqing smiled and said, ”Su Yan and Siyao did quite well together; they make a pretty good pair as dual female leads. I still have other dramas to shoot later.”

”Many netizens have praised that your acting in ’Heart Palpitating’ has greatly improved compared to before. Can you share some insights with everyone?”

”What insights? I just reflect on how to act whenever I take on a new role. I definitely can’t perform in a formulaic way.”

...

Throughout the day, the interviews and talks of several people spread all over online media, with a bunch of onlookers applauding: What a spectacle.

Especially the insinuations among Su Yan, Xu Siyao, and Lew Qingqing were analyzed by a bunch of ”scholars” into having lots of scheming palace intrigue.

Zhou Yun saw this news on her phone and said, ”This is really a special coincidence.”

If it were just Su Yan and Xu Siyao in the drama, that would be fine, but now Lew Qingqing has been dragged in too.

Would Lew Qingqing pass up the chance to step on Su Yan?

This is a pair of arch-enemies.

At this moment, ’Victor’ held its annual gala, inviting a bunch of celebrities to attend.

Zhou Yun also received an invitation, and it wasn’t just her; Yu Sitian also received one.

Zhou Yun initially wanted to decline, but Zhou Lan said she still had to go because the sponsor for this annual gala is VX.

Zhou Yun is a spokesperson.

So, with no choice, Zhou Yun had to take a day off from the production team.

The same went for Yu Sitian.

To attend this gala, Song Chi and Zhang Hongyu also took a day off.

The two mainly wanted to promote ’Mother’ because tonight’s event was highly publicized.

’Victor’ arranged for Zhou Yun, Song Chi, and Zhang Hongyu to close the event together. The three walked together.

It made sense because Song Chi is the producer of ’Mother,’ Zhang Hongyu is the lead actress, and Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend. The three walking together avoided stage position issues and prevented anyone else from trying to steal the show.

Who would dare to compete with this trio?

No face to fight for it.

Yuk Chu, Wang Jing, Wen Xi, and Gu Huaichun were also invited.

Nowadays, Yuk Chu’s belly was slightly protruding, but it wasn’t obvious. A loose gown could cover it.

Zhou Yun was quite happy thinking about seeing so many friends at this event.

When the list of attending celebrities was published online, the top-liked comment was: What I see isn’t starlight but the bloody battle of a Shura field.

’Victor’ made a huge effort, inviting the year’s most popular celebrities, especially those currently promoting something.

Among them, the spotlight was on Su Yan, Xu Siyao, and Lew Qingqing once again.

Their veiled interviews were widely circulated these days, giving people endless gossip over tea and lunch.

Gossip enthusiasts even secretly hoped they would best see the three of them fighting on the red carpet.

Watching the drama unfold, what a joy.
