Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1084: Chapter 622: Her Era Alone

Song Chi, who was filming ”Arrival,” was being teased by a group of actors.

”Song Chi, you need to work harder, look at your wife, winning one award after another these past two years.”

”Exactly, Brother Chi, soon you won’t match up to her anymore.”

...

The cast of ”Arrival” had a harmonious relationship, and everyone joked freely.

Song Chi smiled, waving his hand, ”Stop messing around.”

The smile on his lips was deeper than anyone else’s.

In the United States, the Golden Globe is the second most prestigious film award after the Oscars and is one of the most important indicators for the Oscars.

Zhou Yun’s nomination was an unexpected surprise for everyone, something beyond imagination.

Song Chi had heard Zhou Yun mention it in passing—Zhou Yun said that Zhou Lan just wanted to first familiarize herself with the PR game, to try it out, but never expected to actually get nominated.

Not just the Oscars, Zhou Yun never expected the Golden Globes either.

They all knew that the waters here run deep and are complex; it’s not just about acting well or spending money to win.

To be honest, the world’s most recognized film awards often do not pursue artistic value enough according to professionals, while in the eyes of non-professionals, the audience, many award-winning movies are not appealing, seeming to please neither side. But generally, to make an award globally recognized, you need to combine artistic and commercial value to a certain extent, otherwise, you either face isolation, with audiences uninterested, or end up mundane, leaving nothing behind after a vulgar awards ceremony where everyone’s just being nice.

The reason Zhou Yun and the others didn’t think there was a chance for a nomination was because Zhou Yun was a newcomer, and ”Behind the Scenes” wasn’t a blockbuster, lacking buzz. Moreover, ”Behind the Scenes” was a non-English film, and Americans hate reading subtitles. All these factors limited Zhou Yun, and Zhou Yun couldn’t understand why she got the nomination.

Shi Luoqi and Xue Qin both sent congratulatory emails.

After all, it’s something worth celebrating.

When Zhou Yun arrived on set, everyone was smiling and applauding for her, including Yu Sitian.

Zhou Yun felt embarrassed and said, ”It’s just a nomination, no need to make such a big deal out of it.”

Jiang Yuzhen said, ”But it’s a Golden Globe nomination!”

Kang Xin even gave her a hug and said, ”Congratulations!”

Zhou Yun felt that Director Kang Xin was sincerely congratulating her.

”Thank you, Director,” Zhou Yun said, ”Let’s work hard too.”

Kang Xin smiled and patted Zhou Yun on the shoulder, ”Do your best.”

Zhou Yun thanked everyone and went to her dressing room to get ready for today’s shoot.

After the makeup artist finished her look, she left, and Zhou Yun sat inside, waiting for someone to notify her to start filming.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

”Come in,” Zhou Yun glanced back.

It was Yu Sitian who walked in.

She leaned against the wall by the door with her arms crossed and smiled, ”You must be very happy now, right?”

Zhou Yun nodded, not denying it, ”Happy, why wouldn’t I be?”

She paused, looking at Yu Sitian, and asked, ”Did you come to say something to me?”

A complex expression flashed across Yu Sitian’s face.

”I used to think you were just lucky.”

As she said this, she seemed a bit unwilling.

”So now you’ve finally realized I have talent?” Zhou Yun raised an eyebrow in surprise, asking Yu Sitian.

Yu Sitian bit her lip lightly and said, ”Your luck is indeed good.”

”I don’t deny that,” Zhou Yun said, ”I always manage to seize every opportunity that comes my way.”

”As an actress, I’ve always thought you’re outstanding,” Yu Sitian said, ”Especially these last few days, watching you perform on set; you’re better than me.”

Zhou Yun was surprised.

For someone as proud as Yu Sitian to admit she wasn’t as good as Zhou Yun, it was unimaginable before.

Zhou Yun looked at Yu Sitian in confusion and asked, ”What’s with you suddenly? Coming over to compliment me like this is too strange.”

Yu Sitian took a deep breath and said, ”I’ve had some conflicts with you in the past. Why there were those conflicts, you know well. I was unwilling for a long time, but now looking back, there’s nothing really worth being upset about.”
