Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1072: Chapter 618: Where There Is Division, There Is Union

”Who knows, I won’t talk to you anymore, I’m hanging up.” Zhou Yun said.

”Alright, hang up then.”

Zhou Yun hung up the phone and looked at the two people walking straight towards her.

”Are you reporters?” Zhou Yun asked right away.

The two exchanged glances and shook their heads simultaneously.

”Hello, Miss Zhou, we’re not reporters,” said the taller one on the left, ”Let me introduce myself, I’m Chen Ping, a staff member at the Little Star Foundation, and this is my colleague, Lu Chenqi.”

The shorter one said, ”Miss Zhou, we’re very sorry to bother you, but could we take up ten minutes of your time?”

Zhou Yun hesitated a little and asked, ”Do you have any identification to prove your identity?”

Chen Ping immediately took out his work ID and handed it to Zhou Yun.

Lu Chenqi also handed his over promptly.

Zhou Yun opened it for a look; the seal, photo, and name all matched.

She handed it to Zheng Xiaojue, saying, ”Xiaoju, help me look it up online.”

Following Zhou Yun’s instructions, Zheng Xiaojue picked up the phone to research this foundation and search for information on these two people.

Zhou Yun asked, ”What brings you two to see me?”

Chen Ping said, ”Miss Zhou, the thing is, you previously made a donation to our foundation. We plan to use this donation to support children’s education in mountainous areas. Since you’re a celebrity, we boldly came to invite you to our donation ceremony.”

”Donation? Donation ceremony?”

Zhou Yun couldn’t remember ever donating to this Little Star Foundation.

When did this happen?

She indeed makes regular donations, but it’s usually Zhou Lan who handles them, and she generally only reviews the reports every quarter.

At this point, Zheng Xiaojue confirmed the foundation’s existence and found information about these two people on the official website, verifying their identity.

She told Zhou Yun, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I’ve confirmed their identities. They are indeed staff members of the Little Star Foundation. Their information is on the website, and I’ve heard of this foundation before. Sister Lan had me organize some materials, which she should have coordinated with this foundation to donate money in your name.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Confirm with Sister Lan.”

She smiled at Chen Ping and Lu Chenqi and said, ”Sorry, I tend to be busy with work and don’t really recall the specifics of where I’ve donated. Firstly, thank you very much for coming to invite me to this event, but I’m currently filming with a crew, as you might know from the news. I have to head back to the set early tomorrow morning and won’t be free for the next few months. I’m afraid I don’t have the time. Also, I prefer not to attend such events. Nowadays, the online atmosphere is poor; celebrities who do good deeds are often criticized for showboating. I just want to help where I can within my capability. Thank you.”

Chen Ping and Lu Chenqi exchanged a glance.

Chen Ping said, ”Miss Zhou, could you reconsider? We... need your help.”

”Hmm?” Zhou Yun was slightly taken aback.

Lu Chenqi seemed a bit impatient, and seeing Zhou Yun refuse, he couldn’t help but say, ”Miss Zhou, our Little Star Foundation primarily helps children in need with donations and support. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to maintain operations, but there are just too many children in need. We’ve been diligently seeking donations but are still falling short. You’re a big celebrity, and since you’ve chosen to donate to us, you surely understand and recognize us. If you’re willing to attend our donation ceremony, it would help more people become aware of our Little Star Foundation...”

Zhou Yun waved her hand, uninterested in hearing more.

Chen Ping and Lu Chenqi looked at Zhou Yun puzzled.

”Here’s the thing, I won’t participate in this donation ceremony. Also, I don’t want my name appearing in any promotional reports. When I donated the money, my intention was merely to help people within my capacity. I’ve explained my reasons to you.” Zhou Yun smiled slightly, ”I have to head back to the crew early tomorrow morning. Sorry, I need to get some rest now.”

Seeing this, Chen Ping and Lu Chenqi suddenly panicked.

But Zhou Yun paid no attention to their pleas and walked straight away.

Inside the elevator, Zheng Xiaojue cautiously glanced at her and asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, were you a bit upset just now? Why do I feel you’re not in a good mood?”
