Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1097: Chapter 626: Unexpected Events After the Group Photo (Part 2)

”Don’t force it,” Zhou Yun said.

Gu Huaichun, who wasn’t aware of the situation, couldn’t help but tease: ”Are you two suddenly realizing you like each other and planning to ditch your men?”

”...” Zhou Yun rolled her eyes at Gu Huaichun, ”Shut your mouth.”

Gu Huaichun chuckled.

Zhou Yun said, ”I heard your role got snatched, and you’re still laughing?”

Gu Huaichun shrugged, saying, ”I’d rather it airs later than in this messy competition. Besides, I don’t want to compete against Sister Hongyu.”

Zhang Hongyu said, ”Xiao Gu doesn’t want to compete with us old folks anymore?”

Gu Huaichun quickly waved his hands, saying, ”Please don’t say that. I wouldn’t dare compete with you. Who could beat you anyway?”

Zhang Hongyu said, ”You’re still as eloquent as ever.”

”Of course,” Gu Huaichun said with some pride, ”But, Sister Hongyu, didn’t you promise we’d act together? Why haven’t you contacted me yet?”

Zhang Hongyu said, ”Haven’t found the right opportunity.”

Gu Huaichun clicked his tongue.

He shrugged.

Song Chi asked, ”What about the script I showed you last time? Are you interested?”

Gu Huaichun said, ”I am, but my agent isn’t happy. He’s trying to persuade me to take another role, and I’m negotiating with him.”

”Which other role is it?”

”’When Love,’ produced by Seapool Film and Television,” Gu Huaichun said. ”They offered a higher pay, so he doesn’t care about the script quality and insists I take the one with higher pay.”

Song Chi said, ”Seapool Film and Television? They really like making contemporary idol dramas, one after another.”

Gu Huaichun shrugged, saying, ”Also, because this show will broadcast on Yuehai, they hope I’ll join.”

”If it really won’t work out, just let it go,” Song Chi said. ”Don’t make things difficult for yourself.”

”Sigh, I’m not feeling difficult, just afraid I won’t win the argument,” Gu Huaichun said. ”Brother Chi, I’m touched that you’re looking out for me, but sometimes circumstances are beyond my control.”

”Understood.” Song Chi nodded.

He himself had come from Zuo Jing and understood the difficulty and pain of not having control over the roles an actor takes.

Sometimes, one script is obviously better than another, but the company insists you take the worse one. No other reason than the fact that the worse script pays more, or because the production company has another collaboration with the company.

Zhou Yun, listening to the conversation, curiously asked, ”What kind of show is it?”

Song Chi said, ”A romance drama, telling the story of a man and a woman falling in love.”

”Gu Huaichun’s face is quite suitable.”

The main audience for romance dramas is women, and the first thing female audiences look for in a romance drama is the face.

Gu Huaichun’s face is suitable.

Zhou Yun initially thought to suggest Zhou Jianfeng perform if Gu Huaichun couldn’t.

Zhou Jianfeng’s face is also very suitable for romance, but she figured Song Chi had his considerations, so she didn’t give her opinion lightly.

They chatted for a long time, and finally, the ceremony was about to officially begin, and the host began guiding everyone back to their seats.

Zhou Yun then sat down again.

Ren Sumin went on stage to speak.

Zhou Yun initially thought she wouldn’t speak for long, but who knew, she talked for five minutes and wasn’t done, talking about the entire magazine team’s efforts this year and every one of their breakthroughs.

Zhou Yun listened with a bit of boredom, catching a glimpse of Wen Xi with absent eyes, daydreaming, and showing a hint of disinterest and melancholy.

What happened to Wen Xi?

She nudged Wen Xi slightly with her elbow.

Wen Xi snapped back to reality, looking at Zhou Yun in surprise.

Zhou Yun asked, ”What’s up with you?”

Wen Xi shook his head, saying, ”Nothing.”

”What nothing, last time when we were eating you took a call and left in a hurry. Today you seem off too. Did something happen?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Tell me, really, if something’s wrong, don’t keep it to yourself, it’s tough.”

Wen Xi sighed.

”It’s inconvenient here, I’ll tell you later,” Wen Xi said.

Zhou Yun nodded at these words, ”Find me anytime, I’m always here.”

Wen Xi lifted the corner of his mouth, smiled slightly, and nodded.

At the tenth minute, Ren Sumin finally finished speaking.

She invited everyone to come on stage for a group photo.

This big group photo session is always the most watched part of this fashion ceremony.
