Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1057: Chapter 613: Last-Minute Invitation

Wei Heyun didn’t get angry, instead he laughed and said, ”Indeed, you really know me.”

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes.

In the evening, the two of them had a simple meal at a nearby restaurant.

A few stir-fried dishes, tasted pretty good.

Wei Heyun asked, ”What kind of show are you filming now?”

Zhou Yun: ”You don’t know? I thought you knew! It’s Director Kang Xin’s new movie.”

”Oh, Director Kang,” Wei Heyun said, ”How would I know what you’re filming? You’re either in this crew or that one, filming three or four shows a year. I don’t follow your news ’The Hours’.”

Zhou Yun: ”You really don’t care about your friends at all.”

”Come on,” Wei Heyun said, ”I don’t accept this moral coercion.”

The two of them bickered.

”Sigh.” Wei Heyun suddenly sighed.

”Why are you sighing?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wei Heyun said, ”It’s just that my family has been chaotic recently. It’s nothing; don’t ask, it’s a long story.”

”It can’t be helped. You have a big family, and a big family means complicated relationships.”

”Yes, it is quite complex. I never cared much before. But in the past year or two, since I started filming, many people have been hinting if I’m planning to dive into the film industry.”

Zhou Yun knows that many people in Wei Heyun’s family are in the film industry.

Thanks to several high-ranking elders in his family, everything seems to go smoothly for those in this field.

If it wasn’t for this reason, Wei Heyun wouldn’t have been able to dive in so quickly, producing two shows right off the bat. No matter how many issues arose in between, from starting the project to selling it and airing it, they never encountered an irreparable obstruction causing the project to fail.

In this context, nine out of ten projects fail.

In terms of success rate, Wei Heyun’s two shows had a one hundred percent success, one hundred percent profit.

”Don’t your family members want you in this industry?” Zhou Yun asked curiously.

”If I enter this field, it might be a competition and threat to some,” Wei Heyun explained.

”Huh?”

”Forget it, let’s not talk about my family’s troubles, it makes me unhappy,” Wei Heyun said, ”Tell me about you. Your boyfriend started a film production company and is doing well. Haven’t you thought about it?”

”I haven’t,” Zhou Yun shook her head. ”I’m already stretched too thin. Honestly, maintaining my little studio is challenging enough, and currently, I’m the only artist. Now that I’m not worried about food and clothing, and my earnings have exceeded my expectations, I don’t have much desire for money anymore. I want to explore the path of being an actress and see how far I can go.”

”Ambitious.”

Wei Heyun nodded.

Zhou Yun smiled.

Wei Heyun continued, ”You’re really different from other celebrities.”

”Don’t say that.”

”I mean it, you’re really different from them,” Wei Heyun said. ”I’ve interacted with most of the well-known actresses. How many of them can face their desires as openly as you do?”

”Haha,” Zhou Yun said, ”Why are you saying that? I don’t feel that way myself.”

”Don’t you notice? Many people when interviewed say they want to be actors because they love the art of performance. In reality, how many truly become actors out of love for acting? They’re not becoming actors; they’re becoming celebrities, artists. Many want fame, money, to stand under the spotlight being admired.”

”You’re turning sharp again like before.”

”I’m just stating a fact.”

”Even if that’s somewhat true, you shouldn’t put it that way because it might hurt the genuinely passionate actresses,” Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t like saying negative things about others publicly for this reason. Sometimes, despite our efforts, we might inadvertently harm others.”

”I’ve realized you’re really cautious about impacting others, not willing to cause trouble.”

”Perhaps I’ve developed this habit since childhood,” Zhou Yun laughed, ”Wei Heyun, I grew up differently. Maybe under the protection of family background, you’re free to say anything, act recklessly. But I’m different; I must be cautious as I don’t have the luxury of making mistakes.”
