Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1075: Chapter 619: The Road Ahead Is Long

After hanging up Song Chi’s call, Zhou Yun was momentarily hesitant, unsure whether she should call Wen Bing.

Wen Bing hadn’t mentioned this matter to her. If she rashly called to inquire, Wen Bing might not be willing to talk. Besides, breakups are always unpleasant, and Wen Bing is in a bad mood. Is it appropriate for her to prod the wound?

But Zhou Yun felt that she and Wen Bing are friends. As true friends, knowing about the breakup, if she didn’t call to ask, it would be unreasonable.

In the end, she made a call.

”What are you doing?” Zhou Yun asked.

”Working on the storyboards for ’Female Assassin.’ You suddenly called me, anything up?” Wen Bing’s voice showed no sign of disturbance.

Zhou Yun said, ”I heard you broke up with Windsor?”

”Yeah.” Wen Bing admitted directly without any hesitation.

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised and asked, ”When did you break up? Why didn’t I hear you mention it before?”

”Do I go shouting about this all over the street?”

”True, but you’ve broken up this time, and I haven’t seen any signs of distress?” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ve been chatting with you these days and haven’t noticed anything off.”

Wen Bing sighed and said, ”Honestly, I’ve wanted to break up with her for a long time. I didn’t expect her ambition to be so big when we were together. I also didn’t expect her to have so many thoughts.”

”I told you a long time ago that her intentions weren’t pure being with you.”

”It doesn’t matter if her intentions with me weren’t pure; I can understand that. I just thought, with time, she’d change a bit.”

”Change?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Do you think you are Bodhisattva, coming to save those destined?”

Wen Bing: ”Your mouth is really sharp.”

”No, I thought you knew she was like that and didn’t care.” Zhou Yun said, ”Then you two broke up, but I heard you let her work in your team?”

”No, she’s already climbed to another high branch.” Wen Bing said listlessly, ”Why would she care about my little place here?”

”Huh? What high branch has she climbed onto?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wen Bing said, ”She went to Chen Wenjun’s company, and Chen Wenjun is willing to give her a chance to work on his company’s projects.”

Zhou Yun was astonished, ”Chen Wenjun? How did he suddenly appear?”

”Windsor has always been good at mingling with people, got acquainted earlier, and gradually got close.” Wen Bing said, ”She’s always wanted a chance to do something bigger, and there was no place for her here, so it’s normal for her to have grievances with me.”

”Come on, if it weren’t for you, she’d still be a regular clerk at that law firm.” Zhou Yun said, ”How did she get to know Chen Wenjun?”

Wen Bing chuckled, ”No need to comfort me.”

”Alright then.”

”How is filming ’Chen Yin’ going?” Wen Bing asked, ”Will it finish on time? We’ve finished scouting locations here and are waiting to start in March.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t worry, this will be wrapped up by January, with time reserved for buffer.”

”That’s good.” Wen Bing said, ”I saw Director Kang Xin got injured on set earlier; your crew halted filming, I was really worried you wouldn’t manage to come over.”

”Filming resumes tomorrow.” Zhou Yun said, ”Once ’Female Assassin’ finishes, I definitely need a good break. End of next year, I have to film ’Killing Song’; it’s been non-stop these past two years.”

”You have a lot of movies that haven’t been released yet; a break is indeed due.” Wen Bing said, ”Recently at New Shield’s internal screening, I watched ’Four Killers.’ The feedback was great, especially about you. I find you very suited for martial arts movies; you have a heroic spirit, which is rare. Compared to you, the other three looked like students, and you overshadowed them in several scenes. When this movie releases, I bet many will think you’re cool.”

Zhou Yun said, ”What do you think about the final outcome of the film?”

”Quite an entertaining martial arts film.” Wen Bing said, ”But honestly, it wasn’t quite what I expected.”

”Hmm? How so?”
