Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1058: Chapter 613: Last-Minute Invitation_2

Wei Heyun looked at Zhou Yun and nodded twice.

”Only now do I feel like you also have human weaknesses.”

”Ah?”

”Think about it, you are beautiful, your acting is outstanding, everything has gone smoothly for you, you’re incredibly lucky with awards, and you have a boyfriend like Song Chi. Yet, despite all this, you are someone who holds herself to very high standards, morally almost flawless, with virtually no real shortcomings—But just now, I suddenly felt like you’ve finally revealed something. Of course, it can’t be called a flaw, it should be described as a weakness.”

”What?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wei Heyun said: ”You seem able to face all your good and bad attributes candidly, acknowledge your selfishness, honestly admit your desires, unlike all those other vain people. However, there’s one thing you dare not easily mention or touch upon, that is your past. Whenever you bring it up, you gloss over it vaguely, never detail any events from your past. You said earlier, you were very cautious since childhood, but you never told me why.”

Zhou Yun suddenly felt a bit flustered inside.

She hadn’t expected Wei Heyun to be so perceptive.

”But don’t worry, since you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t press you.” Wei Heyun said, ”I just wanted to tell you, in the eyes of someone attentive, some things may not be as well-hidden as you think.”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

This dinner reached a point where Zhou Yun felt uneasy eating.

Wei Heyun had become even more perceptive.

He hadn’t been this sharp before.

After dinner, Zhou Yun asked where Wei Heyun was staying, only to find out their hotels were very close, less than two hundred meters apart.

So, Zhou Yun first let Cao Jun take Wei Heyun over there.

Before getting off the car, Wei Heyun said: ”Zhou Yun, I’ll be here for two more days. If you ever feel like going out, just call me anytime.”

”Alright.”

Wei Heyun got out of Zhou Yun’s car.

...

”Click! Click!”

The shutter of Lin Xiaomiao’s camera kept pressing down.

Old Huang by her side asked: ”Xiaomiao, after following Zhou Yun for so long, and finally getting her with Wei Heyun on camera, do you think they might really have some kind of affair? This isn’t the first time they’ve been caught together.”

”She and Wei Heyun are friends, and you saw today, they clearly met by chance.” Lin Xiaomiao said, ”I feel like there’s nothing suspicious between them, but we need to earn a living too. Let’s publish some photos today, otherwise the bonus won’t be in hand.”

”How can that be, you being a top entertainment reporter? Didn’t two other teams contact you yesterday to stir up scandals?”

”That only brings in some money.” Lin Xiaomiao said, ”To really produce something worthwhile, you need real substance caught on camera, that’s where the value is.”

...

That night, Zhou Yun called Song Chi, mentioning her accidental meeting with Wei Heyun, who was there for the scenery.

Song Chi said: ”Let him mess around, anyway his family is backing him, he won’t end up losing money.”

”This guy is actually quite smart, just too laid-back before. If he’d treated it seriously from the start, with his family’s connections and capabilities, he might have succeeded.” Zhou Yun felt it was a pity for Wei Heyun, ”Of course, starting now isn’t too late.”

”Xiao Yun, since the crew will stop shooting for a couple of days, why not come help me out?” Song Chi said, ”I recently worked on a drama starring Sister Hongyu, titled ’Mother’, and it’s ready to air. There’s a press conference tomorrow, if you’re available, could you attend and help us with the promotion?”

”Sure, when?”

”The press conference is at two thirty in the afternoon, is that okay? It’s in Beijing.”

”Okay.” Zhou Yun agreed immediately, ”But I’m not familiar with this show, I wouldn’t know how to respond to questions from reporters at the event.”

”We’ll coordinate the questions beforehand.” Song Chi said.

After hanging up, Zhou Yun immediately informed Zhou Lan about this.

Zhou Lan said: ”I understand, I’ll have the brand send over the outfit for the event to Beijing. But when will ’Chen Yin’ resume filming?”

”I don’t know, I haven’t received any news yet.” Zhou Yun said, ”I think the director’s injury is quite severe, and perhaps won’t be discharged for a while.”
