Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1085: Chapter 622: An Era Belonging to Her Alone

Zhou Yun asked, ”What exactly do you want to say to me? You’re not here to apologize, are you?”

”I haven’t done anything to you, so there’s no need to apologize,” Yu Sitian said somewhat impatiently.

After she finished speaking, she hesitated again.

”I just wanted to tell you that I’ve no longer have feelings for Song Chi. That’s all.” After finishing, she looked intently at Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun was very surprised.

She even felt somewhat at a loss for words regarding what Sitian had said, finding it very strange indeed.

”Alright, I understand.”

”But don’t get complacent,” Yu Sitian suddenly raised her tone.

”Hmm?”

”I’ll catch up to you,” Yu Sitian said with great determination. ”I once thought I was the best among people my age, but your appearance has given me a strong sense of crisis. Or rather, your presence has made all actresses feel a strong sense of crisis. I won’t let you leave me far behind.”

”Let’s wait and see.”

Yu Sitian opened the door and left the room.

Zhou Yun looked at the door as it closed again, tapped her fingers, and smiled a bit unexpectedly.

So... was Yu Sitian just now trying to make amends with her?

...

”Sitian, why did you go say those things to Zhou Yun?”

Yu Sitian’s assistant Zhang Hong asked puzzledly.

The person most surprised by Yu Sitian’s actions today wasn’t Zhou Yun but Zhang Hong.

She was Yu Sitian’s assistant and had been by Yu Sitian’s side for a long time.

She knew how proud and ambitious Yu Sitian was. Despite her sweet and cute appearance, she actually looked down on everyone over the years. Yu Sitian even once thought she would be the first of her age group to win Best Actress.

Zhou Yun’s sudden emergence truly gave Yu Sitian a lot of crisis, but it was also true that Yu Sitian had never truly accepted it.

Therefore, Zhang Hong couldn’t understand why Yu Sitian suddenly went to ”give in” to Zhou Yun today; it was very unlike Yu Sitian’s usual style.

Not to mention, Yu Sitian’s popularity was currently rising due to ”Dragon Ascending,” truly stepping into the ranks of a popular celebrity.

Yu Sitian didn’t say anything to Zhang Hong.

...

”Zhou Yun’s luck with awards is unmatched,” Lew Qingqing clicked her tongue twice while chatting with the person next to her. ”Look at others—struggling desperately, they can only shoot a few serious films. They could fight for seven or eight years without even getting a nomination. But Zhou Yun, after being in the business for a little over three years, is picking up awards one after another. Who has her momentum? I’d say it’s unprecedented and never to be repeated.”

Sitting across from her was a stubbly man, a bit chubby, wearing a suit and black-rimmed glasses.

”Compared to her, you’re just missing a bit of luck. But luck is something that no one can tell whose turn it might be next.”

This man was Yu Wenzhou, the director of ”Heart Palpitating.”

Lew Qingqing filmed this low-budget suspense horror web series in June, and it’s finally about to be released.

The broadcast platform is Sanwen Video, a video platform in the second tier.

Two years ago, Lew Qingqing would never have agreed to act in a low-budget web series on a second-tier platform.

Back then, she was undeniably a leading actress.

But it’s different now.

The online drama Lew Qingqing starred in earlier flopped badly, impacting her reputation significantly.

She doesn’t have high hopes for ”Heart Palpitating” either; she agreed to the web drama purely because the platform offered high remuneration, and there weren’t any better scripts among those that approached her.

Yu Wenzhou’s words didn’t bring much comfort to Lew Qingqing.

She only said, ”I’m not holding onto that idea. Director, do you have plans for your next film?”

”Not yet,” Yu Wenzhou replied, ”No one’s reached out to me.”

”No one’s reached out to you?” Lew Qingqing said. ”Recently, I read a novel that I feel is quite suitable for me to act in. If the director has availability, maybe we can work on a project together?”

Yu Wenzhou was a bit surprised.

He didn’t expect Lew Qingqing to directly extend an olive branch to him.

As they say, a camel on the verge of collapse is still bigger than a horse.

Although Lew Qingqing is somewhat past her prime, she was after all once a top-ranking actress. She just can’t get the very top-grade productions now, but she still has no worries about playing leading roles.

Yu Wenzhou, on the other hand, is a genuinely new director. ”Heart Palpitating” is his first independently directed web series, and having Lew Qingqing as a lead is all thanks to perfect timing and circumstances.
