Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 140: Chapter 134: Sichuan’s Huaxi Hospital vs. Hecheng City No. 1 Hospital (3)

”Director Huo, Dr. Xiao Wu, I’m very sorry to have made you rush all the way over here today.”

”Ah Qian, bring over what I had you prepare.”

Wang Hongqing shoved a red envelope into Huo Yun’s hand and explained with an air of superiority:

”My sincerest apologies, Director Huo. After Lian Jun contacted you, my son also reached out to his department director.”

”My son is an attending physician in the Department of Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery at Pinfan Hospital.”

Wang Hongqing’s wife chimed in at the perfect moment, her voice swelling with pride. Even in front of doctors from City First Hospital, she felt she had reason to be boastful.

Wang Hongqing also smiled.

”That’s right. Originally, we were just going to ask Professor Liang Ang to consult with some relevant experts on our behalf. But as luck would have it, Professor Liang happens to be coming to Fan City for a top-tier academic conference.”

”As a favor to my son, Wan Jun, Professor Liang said he’s willing to team up with the other national experts at the conference to perform my father’s surgery.”

”So... heh...”

Wang Hongqing looked at Huo Yun, pausing deliberately for a few seconds. He didn’t even spare Wu Ting a glance.

”Director Huo, this is a small token of my appreciation. I’m so sorry for the trouble.”

”Lian Jun, I’ll have to trouble you to see Director Huo and this... junior doctor out.”

By the end, Wang Hongqing’s tone had grown cold. It was a clear dismissal.

Wang Lianjun hadn’t expected this at all and was utterly mortified.

”Director Huo, Dr. Wu, I never imagined things would turn out like this...”

Wang Lianjun began to explain.

But Huo Yun was a seasoned veteran; how could he fail to understand Wang Hongqing’s meaning? In the past, he really wouldn’t have dared to put on airs in front of someone like Liang Ang. He would have just swallowed his anger and gone back feeling dejected.

Now, however, armed with his new techniques, he was brimming with confidence.

Besides, Huo Yun and Wu Ting knew perfectly well why Liang Ang was coming to Fan City. There would be plenty of time to ’exchange notes’ with Professor Liang Ang later.

”In that case, we won’t trouble you any further.”

It was just one surgery. To someone like Huo Yun, whether he performed it or not made no difference at all.

They had only come because this patient’s condition was a perfect match for their Surgical Technique. Plus, Huo Yun’s hands were itching for a chance to operate with the assistance of Wu Ting and the three PhDs.

Otherwise, given the number of patients at City First Hospital’s Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Research Center, this patient wouldn’t have even made it onto the waiting list if Director Huo hadn’t spoken up for him.

As for Wu Ting, he couldn’t care less.

He was busy preparing for the expert consensus meeting on Daytime Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy; he hardly had time to come all the way to Bei City.

And he had no personal connection whatsoever with this so-called President Wang.

He had only come to operate with Director Huo in the first place.

Huo Yun handed the red envelope back to Wang Hongqing and replied coldly:

”President Wang, I can’t accept payment for services not rendered. Please, take this back. Having Professor Liang perform the surgery is a truly rare opportunity. I wish the old gentleman a speedy recovery.”

Huo Yun still respected and acknowledged the skill of Professor Liang Ang.

But he wasn’t about to put on a pleasant face for someone with Wang Hongqing’s attitude.

In a sense, with the assistance of Wu Ting and the three PhDs, Huo Yun as the lead surgeon for this patient would not be the least bit inferior to Professor Liang Ang.

This was a revolution in technique, an advantage so overwhelming it was like an attack from a higher dimension—enough to completely erase the gap in raw talent between Huo Yun and Liang Ang.

After all, while Huo Yun might not be on the same level as Professor Liang Ang in the hepato-pancreato-biliary field, he was no slouch either.

Seeing Director Huo’s displeasure, which Wang Hongqing met with only more indifference and dismissive contempt, Wang Lianjun grew indignant. His uncle’s actions put him in an impossible position.

There was nothing Wang Lianjun could do about his uncle.

All he could do was apologize profusely as he led Director Huo and Wu Ting out of the room.

Watching Wang Lianjun’s pathetic display, Wang Hongqing shook his head and sighed, feeling his nephew was a disgrace to the Wang Family.

”Dr. Wang, you are your own man; your uncle is his. Our research center would welcome a young doctor like you for advanced training anytime.”

Huo Yun offered Wang Lianjun a few words of comfort before heading back to City First Hospital with Wu Ting.

As far as Huo Yun and Wu Ting were concerned, it was simply the patient’s loss.

’If Professor Liang Ang ever witnessed the combined assistance technique of Wu Ting and the three PhDs, he’d surely regret not having seen it sooner.’

In a contest of radical resection for hepato-pancreato-biliary tumors, between Lin Province Pinfan Hospital and the Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Research Center at Fan City First Hospital, it was truly anyone’s guess who would come out on top!

If Professor Shen Guofeng were the lead surgeon, working with Wu Ting and the three PhDs, it would be an absolute blowout.

...

...

As the date of the expert consensus meeting on Daytime Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy approached, Professor Shen Guofeng received an urgent phone call in the emergency department of Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital.

The call was from Director Shen Xiaofei of the Department of Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery. There was a unique case; both the patient’s identity and medical condition were highly complex, and he needed Professor Shen to join a consultation.

When he arrived at the conference room, Shen Guofeng was somewhat surprised.

A truly formidable team of specialists had been assembled for the consultation.
