Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 112: Chapter 111: The Significance of the Research: Establishing a National Expert Consensus

When Huo Yun called out, both Wu Ting and Jiang Ming were a bit stunned.

’Professor Ma is asking for Wu Ting by name?’

At Huo Yun’s urging, Wu Ting jogged over.

Professor Ma was clearly surprised, yet delighted, to see the young man jogging toward him.

”You’re Dr. Wu Ting?”

Ling Ling also hadn’t expected Wu Ting to be so young.

”Dr. Wu is this young?”

”Wu Ting, hurry and greet Professor Ma. The professor is very impressed with your surgical technique and is also quite interested in your latest research topic.”

Huo Yun pulled Wu Ting to his side.

”Professor Ma, it’s an honor to receive your attention.”

Wu Ting was thrilled. So many directors and experts only got to exchange a few simple words with the professor, yet he was being called over personally. What an honor.

Ma Mengchao had originally assumed Wu Ting was a very senior doctor. Seeing how young he was, his evaluation and expectations of him grew exponentially.

Youth represented infinite potential and possibilities.

”Dr. Wu, I’ll review your paper and research materials thoroughly when I get back. Time is tight at the conference today. Come find me afterward; I want to have a proper talk with you.”

”Also, I’ve already arranged with your Director Huo to visit the emergency department at your Fan City First Hospital for an inspection. I also want to see for myself how patients are recovering in your wards after the Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Combined with Qi Mechanism Ascending and Descending.”

Ma Mengchao enthusiastically shook Wu Ting’s hand, then took out his phone and personally showed Wu Ting his messaging app’s QR code.

Wu Ting quickly took out his own phone and added the professor’s personal account.

The surrounding experts and directors were green with envy, shocked that this young doctor could garner so much of Professor Ma’s attention.

Professor Ma chatted with Wu Ting for a few more moments before leaving to meet with other experts and scholars.

The moment Professor Ma left, the surrounding experts swarmed over, especially the provincial specialists who knew Huo Yun.

”Director Huo, impressive! What kind of research did your department come up with this time to earn such favor from Professor Ma?”

”Exactly! For Professor Ma to personally visit your department for an inspection... that’s incredible!”

Those who didn’t know Huo Yun before now certainly remembered the Emergency Department of Fan City First Hospital. A few directors from other cities even hurried over to exchange contact information with him.

”Director Huo, a pleasure to meet you. Let’s exchange contact info.”

”Director Huo, I’m the director of general surgery at Ning City First Hospital. Let’s add each other. I’d love to ask how you managed your research project to get Professor Ma to take the initiative to connect with you.”

...

In an instant, thanks to Professor Ma’s favor and their private conversation, the reputation of Huo Yun and Fan City First Hospital spread throughout the annual conference, making them the center of attention.

It was the first time Director Huo had ever enjoyed such acclaim. He received warm greetings from many experts with whom he’d only had a passing acquaintance before, exchanged contact information, and even established intentions for future collaborations.

Director Cai was also thrilled to watch. Even he had a few unfamiliar directors add his contact information simply because he was associated with the director from Fan City First Hospital.

Director Huo was in high spirits. He never expected that, late in his career, he would become a hot topic and build so many new connections, all thanks to Wu Ting.

Of course, aside from Huo Yun, Wu Ting—the one specifically praised by Professor Ma—also received admiration from many experts and professors.

Many directors came over to exchange contact information with him.

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for gaining Professor Ma’s favor at the general surgery annual conference and making the City First Hospital’s Emergency Department a hot topic. You have obtained an Entry from Professor Ma Mengchao: Cholangiocarcinoma Diagnostic Technique (Purple), Professor Ma’s signature skill for diagnosing cholangiocarcinoma.]

[Obtained an Entry from a certain director at the conference: PTCD Technique (Yellow), Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangial Drainage. An important technique for biliary drainage that can reconstruct the biliary excretion pathway, thereby promoting bile excretion and improving the patient’s liver function. It can effectively treat obstructive jaundice.]

[Recommended Entry Synthesis: PTCD Technique (Yellow) + Yinchen Lidan Soup (Yellow) + Cholangiocarcinoma Diagnostic Technique (Purple) = PTCD combined with Yinchen Lidan Soup for treating cholangiocarcinoma with concurrent obstructive jaundice (Purple). A novel, original auxiliary treatment for cholangiocarcinoma that offers better liver function recovery, improves clinical symptoms, and enhances treatment efficacy compared to conventional plans.]

[Synthesize Entry?]

Seeing this entry, Wu Ting didn’t feel much of anything. ’With my current qualifications and experience,’ he thought, ’surgery for cholangiocarcinoma is still too far off.’

’However, if a special case comes up later, I could use this auxiliary treatment method during a consultation with the top doctors to perfect and optimize the overall treatment plan.’

’I wonder when I’ll get the chance to participate in a consultation for such an advanced surgery.’

Wu Ting wasn’t greedy. He knew the right thing to do was to improve steadily, as he still had plenty of time.

As Wu Ting processed the entries he had just acquired, the annual conference moved on to its next stage.

Huo Yun, Cai Qi, Jiang Ming, and Wu Ting had come to the conference without ever expecting to achieve their goals in such a dream-like fashion.

The four of them were in a relaxed mood for the remainder of the event and enjoyed the rest of the conference.

Finally, with concluding remarks from bigwigs like Ma Mengchao, the annual conference came to a successful close.

After the meeting ended, Wu Ting received a message from Ma Mengchao’s PhD student, Ling Ling.

”Dr. Wu, after the conference, could you, Director Huo, and the others come to our hotel room for a chat?”

Ling Ling sent the room number to Wu Ting.

”Incredible! This time, it was really all thanks to Wu Ting!”

”Yeah, I never would have guessed. Turns out Wu Ting’s reputation preceded him, and he’d already caught the attention of Professor Ma and Dr. Ling.”

Huo Yun then explained the history between Ling Ling and Wu Ting.

Jiang Ming was in complete awe of Wu Ting.

The four of them soon arrived at Professor Ma Mengchao’s hotel room.

After they arrived, Ling Ling welcomed them in and had them sit down.

Professor Ma had used the fragmented moments of time to once again look over Wu Ting’s research materials, the first draft of his paper, and Cai Qi’s plan for the accelerated recovery ward.

A grand, entirely new idea had taken shape in his mind!

Seeing the four of them, Professor Ma put down the papers and stood up to welcome them.

After some pleasantries, Professor Ma turned to Cai Qi:

”Director Cai, I’ve reviewed your application for the accelerated recovery ward. With Dr. Wu’s paper and his new surgical technique, I believe your department has a very good chance. When it comes to the final review, I’ll cast a vote for you!”

Professor Ma was very direct. In academia, good was good, and there was no need to hide it.

Hearing Professor Ma’s promise, Director Cai was overjoyed. He thanked him profusely, feeling incredibly fortunate. ’This Wu Ting is truly a great benefactor for hepatobiliary surgery.’

After discussing Director Cai’s accelerated recovery ward, Professor Ma finally began to talk with Wu Ting.

”Dr. Wu, I’ve taken a look at your surgical techniques, and they hold immense clinical value. Especially the Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Combined with Qi Mechanism Ascending and Descending that you are currently performing.”

”Regarding your research, I have an idea. I wonder if you’ve heard of the concept of ’Daytime Surgery’?”

Hearing Professor Ma’s words, Wu Ting, Huo Yun, and the others all shook their heads.

”It’s normal that you haven’t heard of it; it’s a very cutting-edge theoretical concept at the moment. So-called Daytime Surgery is when a patient completes admission, surgery, and discharge all within one day—24 hours. This is also a new concept proposed just this year by the National Health Commission, and it’s a direction I’m personally working to implement.”

”Currently, Jiuhua Hospital is serving as the starting point, and we’re preparing to gradually promote it in the near future.”

”Of course, promoting Daytime Surgery requires the establishment of a comprehensive quality control system covering all key stages—pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative. This mainly includes assessing pre-operative surgical risks and indications, standardizing key surgical steps, and establishing a post-operative quality monitoring and data follow-up system to continuously provide feedback and improve clinical practice...”

Professor Ma looked at Wu Ting, his eyes full of expectation:

”And this new surgical technique of yours, Dr. Wu, can absolutely serve as a classic, model procedure. That’s why I’m also planning to conduct an inspection at your Fan City First Hospital.”

”Wu Ting, I hope you can broaden the scope of your research. Don’t just focus on the surgical technique itself, but place it within the larger concept of Daytime Surgery.”

”Use cholecystectomy as the vehicle to develop a research project on Daytime Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.”

”I also have a plan. Once your project is mature and well-developed, I want to invite you, Wu Ting, as an expert representative, to work with me, Jiuhua Hospital, and experts from several hospitals in Qinghe City to establish a national expert consensus on daytime laparoscopic diagnosis and treatment!”

”Laparoscopic diagnosis and treatment techniques have the advantages of being minimally invasive, causing less pain, requiring shorter hospital stays, and being safe and effective. They align with the developmental philosophy of minimally invasive surgery and have become the gold standard for treating these types of diseases.”

”And accelerated recovery surgery—which is Director Cai’s area of exploration—complements the development of daytime laparoscopic techniques. Compared to non-daytime surgery, daytime laparoscopy can shorten hospital stays, reduce patient costs, and lessen the societal medical burden. It has profound significance!”

”So, I’ll be frank with you. Your hospital’s accelerated recovery ward and daytime laparoscopic surgery align perfectly with the grand concept of Daytime Surgery that I am researching and promoting. It gives me a sense of finding a kindred spirit, and this is the true purpose and significance of my planned visit to your hospital.”

”Wu Ting, Director Huo, Director Cai, thank you for taking a concept that was still just a grand idea and vision in my mind and making it blossom and bear fruit!”

Listening to Ma Mengchao’s high-level summary from the perspective of a top expert in the medical industry, Wu Ting and the others were filled with admiration.

More than that, they felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. It turned out that, by what felt like a stroke of luck, they had become pioneers and a testing ground for the cutting edge of their field!
