Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 138: Chapter 134: Sichuan Huaxi Hospital VS Fancheng No. 1 Hospital

Professor Liang Ang was a visiting scholar and jointly-trained doctoral student at Imperial College London, sponsored by the State Ministry of Education. He was a doctoral supervisor and a Level-1 expert at Pinfan Hospital.

He was also a leading figure in Lin Province’s health sector, proficient in various surgeries for liver cancer, hilar cholangiocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer, as well as complex and difficult hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and Liver Transplantation surgeries.

He had repeatedly broken Pinfan Hospital’s records for difficult surgeries, setting and still holding the record for the largest documented liver cancer resection—a tumor weighing six kilograms with a diameter exceeding forty centimeters.

Normally, he was either in the operating room or out attending various conferences and academic exchanges. As a junior attending physician, Wang Wanguang didn’t dare make a big scene trying to find Professor Liang. He could only wait for the right moment to ask.

So, Wang Wanguang could only tell his father he’d have to wait until he could consult with Professor Liang before giving a reply.

Meanwhile, at Bei City Hospital.

After receiving Wang Wanguang’s reply, Wang Hongqing decided to pursue a two-pronged approach.

”Lian Jun, still no word from your cousin. Professor Liang is no ordinary doctor, after all; he’s extremely busy. We have to wait until he has some free time to ask.”

”How about this: you go and ask Director Huo from Fan City First Hospital to come over and do a preoperative examination on your grandfather. We can be flexible with the fees.”

”It’s best to have them move quickly. Even though it’s just a hospital in Fan City, it’s still better than Bei City Hospital. If Director Huo can get us a result quickly, I can forward their diagnosis and surgical plan to Wanguang and have him ask Professor Liang to take a look.”

His words implied that with the possibility of Professor Liang Ang’s involvement, Wang Hongqing’s attitude toward Fan City First Hospital had already grown lukewarm.

However, this was understandable. After all, Professor Liang Ang was a nationally renowned top expert, while Director Huo wasn’t considered top-tier even within Jin Province.

Although Wang Lianjun felt a little uncomfortable after hearing this, he contacted Director Huo nonetheless.

Director Huo was quite keen on such difficult and complicated cases. The last time, Professor Shen Guofeng had enjoyed the top-tier assistance of Wu Ting’s team, and watching that had made Huo Yun’s own hands itch with anticipation.

So, this time, when Director Huo learned of a patient with cirrhosis complicated by liver cancer, he was very proactive about taking on the case for surgery.

Bei City First People’s Hospital and Fan City First Hospital were quite close to each other.

Director Huo brought Wu Ting along and personally rushed to Bei City Hospital as quickly as possible.

Wang Lianjun came to welcome them, feeling rather overwhelmed by the honor.

”Director Huo, thank you so much for taking the trouble to rush over here to see my grandfather.”

”My father is also in the ward. Shall we go see them now?”

As they walked, Wang Lianjun also noticed Wu Ting beside Director Huo. Wu Ting had performed freelance surgery at Bei City Hospital before, and Wang Lianjun had also heard about Wu Ting’s astonishing achievements at Fan City First Hospital.

”Dr. Wu, you’re so young! I heard that you were the one who led the team that developed this new auxiliary combined technique. We’ll have to trouble you to assist Director Huo with my grandfather’s surgery this time.”

Wang Lianjun was very respectful and admiring of Wu Ting.

Wu Ting gave a faint smile. He was also very happy to get this kind of opportunity.

’If I can get this patient admitted to the research center, such a classic case would make an excellent case study. It would be very helpful in making my auxiliary technique more persuasive.’

’Besides, operating with Director Huo might drop some new skill entries. If I could get a radical resection for a hepatobiliary tumor, that would be perfect.’

So, as soon as he heard about the opportunity, Wu Ting had readily agreed to come with Huo Yun.

Just as Director Huo and Wu Ting arrived at Bei City First People’s Hospital, on the other end, Wang Wanguang had a stroke of luck and managed to catch Professor Liang right as he was coming out of surgery.

Although Professor Liang held a transcendent status in Pinfan Hospital’s hepatobiliary surgery department, he wasn’t arrogant at all and listened carefully as Wang Wanguang made his report.

After Wang Wanguang explained his grandfather’s situation to Professor Liang Ang, he asked expectantly:

”Professor Liang, do you know any experts you could recommend to be the chief surgeon for my grandfather’s operation?”

Liang Ang’s schedule was extremely busy, packed with major surgeries and various academic conferences.

Normally, it would be impossible for him to operate personally, nor would he travel to Fan City amidst his busy schedule.

An expert like Liang Ang wasn’t short on money, and he certainly wasn’t someone a Fan City billionaire could simply hire.

Of course, he wasn’t about to make a trip to Fan City just for a junior attending physician from his own department, either.

However, by a stroke of serendipity, Liang Ang thought for a moment and said:

”Wanguang, normally, I might help you ask around for a relevant expert. But this time, you’re in luck. In a few days, there will be an expert consensus meeting on Daytime Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in your Fan City. It’s being initiated by Professor Ma Mengchao from Qinghe City Jiuhua Hospital, and I’ll be attending.”

”Here’s the plan: you’ll come with me to Fan City this time. During the consensus meeting, I’ll find some time to go to Bei City and check on your grandfather’s condition.”

”All the well-known hepatobiliary surgery experts in the country will be at this conference. When the time comes, I’ll ask an old friend, Vice President Liu Rong from Jin Country General Hospital, to perform the surgery on your grandfather with me.”

With his level of expertise, Liang Ang was naturally unfazed by any liver tumor surgery.

Hearing Professor Liang’s promise, Wang Wanguang was overcome with excitement and thanked him profusely.

”Thank you so much, Professor Liang! I’ll go tell my family the good news right away. This is wonderful!”
