The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

When the banquet hall on the second floor in the front started to make noise, the back kitchen didn’t hear the news yet.

Today, the restaurant had taken three full booking orders.

The lunch session was the largest, and there were two in the evening, but those were smaller banquets with only about a dozen tables.

Once the lunch banquet was set up, everyone in the back kitchen quickly seized the time to grab a bite to eat and settle their stomachs.

The noodle section made some pulled noodles. Once cooked, they were mixed with a spoonful of lard simmered with onions, and sprinkled with a few drops of soy sauce, making them chewy and refreshing.

Fu Yu was eating and heard someone next to him exclaiming that something had happened in the front hall!

Immediately, those with good connections in the back kitchen quickly made calls to inquire about the situation.

Before long, they got a full understanding of what had happened.

It’s said that in order to capture a fraud gang, the police directly surrounded the banquet hall on the second floor and have already apprehended all the suspects.

Fu Yu’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. He hadn’t expected something usually seen only on TV to happen right beside him.

Someone asked, ”What about the restaurant’s losses?”

Zhang Zhen casually said, ”Logically, the police station would compensate, but knowing our boss, he’ll probably take the cost upon himself.”

Others nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

In fact, a similar incident happened in the restaurant a couple of years back.

But at that time, a kind-hearted bystander accidentally knocked over a whole table’s dishes while doing a good deed.

After understanding the situation, Yao Shi not only didn’t ask for compensation but also gifted the person a souvenir from the restaurant.

Because of this, that kind-hearted person became a regular customer, always coming to them for booking banquets during holidays.

Later, when Yao Shi found out about this, he specifically gave the person a VIP card.

After hearing Zhang Zhen’s words, Fu Yu was more convinced of Yao Shi.

As a person, Yao Shi was indeed impeccable.

While the back kitchen was discussing this, Yao Shi finally came over upon hearing the news.

It was said that Yao Shi was the owner of the music restaurant, and the TV station staff quickly approached him to communicate, hoping the chef who cooked the fried pork knuckle could be interviewed.

Understanding what had happened, Yao Shi politely declined, saying, ”No need for an interview, but I can introduce him to the elderly personally.”

The staff understood that they did not want the chef to appear on TV and did not insist.

Knowing the elderly person was now arranged in the VIP room, Yao Shi sent someone to the back kitchen to call Fu Yu over.

Yao Shi glanced at Fu Yu in his well-cut chef’s uniform, whose appearance and demeanor were excellent, and could directly represent the back kitchen.

Yao Shi nodded satisfactorily and explained the situation to Fu Yu.

Fu Yu was very surprised after hearing this. He hadn’t expected the brave elderly woman to want to meet him.

Yao Shi asked for Fu Yu’s opinion, ”Would you like to meet her?”

Fu Yu didn’t hesitate at all and nodded, ”I would!”

Having heard of the elderly woman’s brave actions, Fu Yu was very impressed, as she disregarded her own safety to cooperate with the police, ultimately leading to the successful capture of the fraud gang.

This alone made Fu Yu quite like the elderly lady.

Upon entering the VIP room and seeing the kind-faced elderly woman inside, Fu Yu smiled slightly and greeted, ”Hello, Aunt.”

The elderly lady turned her head to see Fu Yu, her eyes brightened, and she exclaimed with some surprise, ”Oh, such a young chef!”

Fu Yu introduced himself.

The elderly lady nodded repeatedly upon hearing this. ”Fu Yu, what a nice name! And you look great too!”

Fu Yu grinned.

This lady certainly had an eye for people.

Though it’s probably the first time anyone had ever complimented his name.

Fu Yu had a good impression of the elderly lady, so he behaved in a very friendly and polite manner.

The elderly lady said her surname was Cheng, so Fu Yu started calling her Aunt Cheng.

Aunt Cheng praised Fu Yu’s cooking skills, complimenting the delicious dishes, especially the fried pork knuckle, saying it was very authentic.

When it came to cooking, Fu Yu immediately perked up and chatted for a bit with the elderly lady.

Since he still had work in the kitchen, as he was about to leave, Aunt Cheng suddenly said, ”Xiaofu, you probably don’t have a girlfriend yet, do you?”

Fu Yu: ”!”

Was his single status really that obvious?

Fu Yu gave a wry smile, ”No, not yet.”

Aunt Cheng, hearing this, was delighted, cheerfully saying, ”That’s great!”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Fu Yu was baffled. What’s so happy and congratulatory about being single!

Aunt Cheng continued, ”My daughter is also single! She’s a police officer and works in Xiangyang District! If you’re willing, you can get to know her!”

Fu Yu looked at the elderly lady in astonishment, asking incredulously, ”You mean to say...”

Just because of a delicious fried pork knuckle, she was ready to set him up with her daughter?

This seemed a bit too hasty, didn’t it?

However, Aunt Cheng decisively argued, ”You’re a chef, and my daughter is a police officer. Your professions match perfectly! Moreover, you’re good-looking, and your cooking is delicious; such a talented person must be very outstanding!”

The accompanying manager couldn’t help but chuckle.

Fu Yu, unable to contain his laughter, said, ”Aunt Cheng, you’re really funny.”

Being able to cook hardly counts as being talented!

Just as Aunt Cheng was about to speak, Yao Shi entered the VIP room with an elderly lady who walked briskly.

As she entered, the elderly lady called out crisply to Aunt Cheng, ”Mom!”

Fu Yu: ”!”

Aunt Cheng frowned and complained, ”Haven’t you changed back yet?”

Then, introducing her to Fu Yu, ”Xiaofu, this is my daughter Liu Nuannuan.”

Fu Yu now understood. Liu Nuannuan had clearly made a meticulous disguise.

But the wig and makeup were so realistic that seeing Liu Nuannuan at first glance was indeed like looking at a woman in her early sixties.

Aunt Cheng likely felt her daughter’s get-up was too embarrassing, so she quickly explained to Fu Yu, ”Xiaofu, actually, our Nuannuan is quite pretty. She dressed like this specifically for a mission!”

Liu Nuannuan was stunned, giving her mother a strange look.

Why did that sound so odd?

Fu Yu smiled awkwardly, ”Oh, I understand.”

Aunt Cheng, hearing this, was pleased, ”Let me tell you, my Nuannuan is quite capable. She just graduated from police academy this June. She’s been working for less than three months and is already undertaking missions with her team!”

At first, Liu Nuannuan might not have understood what was happening.

But hearing her mother start her usual promotional spiel again and seeing the young, handsome Fu Yu, she had no doubt that her mother was reverting to her old habits.

Clearly, seeing the young chef who was good at cooking, her mother was starting to market her again.

Liu Nuannuan reluctantly said, ”Mom, please stop! We’re out of time. We need to pack up and leave. You can ride with me, and I’ll drop you off at your doorstep.”

Aunt Cheng, still a bit reluctant, was quite friendly while saying goodbye to Fu Yu, ”Xiaofu, next time I come, I’ll tell the waiter to have you cook, alright?”

[Ding! Long-term task for NPC Chef Yao Shi: Excel as a chef, develop well in this industry, gain one loyal customer, and receive customer recognition. Reward: Skill point +1]

Fu Yu: ”!”

So the reward for this task included developing loyal customers!

If things continued like this.

The opportunities to earn skill points would increase!

That’s great!

After all, skill points are more useful than money!

Fu Yu looked at Aunt Cheng, who had officially become his loyal customer, and smiled, ”Alright!”

Aunt Cheng actually wanted to chat with Fu Yu a bit more, but Liu Nuannuan eventually led her away.

Watching their backs as they left, Fu Yu shook his head with a smile, finding Aunt Cheng quite interesting!
