The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 368: Chapter 367: What If It Really Works?

In the past, Fu Yu hadn’t given much thought to this matter.

Ever since starting the teaching practice courses, Fu Yu suddenly began to ponder.

Personal skills are called skills not just because of countless practices.

Rather, during practice, it requires cognitive activities realized internally through mental speech.

To integrate such operational methods of personal skills into the body, reaching a state of familiarity, one must be able to utilize other related skills together.

Given this, Fu Yu wondered if he could also utilize other skills during the teaching practice courses to improve the efficiency and time of learning.

What does it mean?

It means targeted learning.

What is the reason, he clearly already has the relevant skills, but cannot reach the satisfactory operational effect he desires, what exactly is he lacking?

This is very important!

If he can understand this matter, it will greatly help his future learning.

However, because he is cooking by himself, some details in the process are easily overlooked.

At this time, it is necessary to conduct a review!

If he can find the reason and summarize the best solution, perhaps the entire industry will see significant progress.

What if it really works?

After all, one should always have dreams!

Liu Yuqing pointed her phone camera at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu had already started cooking.

The saury does not need to have its internal organs removed, they are washed clean, and the surface moisture is absorbed with kitchen paper.

Sprinkle a little salt and let it sit for 15 minutes.

The assistant had already marinated the saury while preparing, which is also to save Fu Yu’s time.

After all, he is still the main force holding the wok.

Zhao Meng’s hand condition has recovered pretty much, but both Yao Shi and Fu Yu still think he should rest well for a few more days.

Therefore, he is firmly not allowed to take up the wok again.

Fu Yu first brushed a little oil on the grill, then placed the entire saury directly on the charcoal fire so that it wouldn’t stick to the skin when taking it off.

And there’s no need to add extra oil to the fish body because saury itself is very oily.

Master Chen likes to make a few cuts on the fish when grilling saury, so it can absorb the flavor better.

However, through repeated attempts in the teaching practice classes, Fu Yu found that if you make cuts, the fish fat all slips away when grilling.

So when grilling, Fu Yu directly omitted the step of cutting.

Liu Yuqing stood quietly beside, recording the video, her eyes looking through the lens, observing Fu Yu’s every move, her attention unprecedentedly focused.

And because of this, she suddenly remembered something she had long been curious about.

She wanted to speak up and ask but worried about affecting the recording quality, feeling a bit conflicted.

Fu Yu inadvertently looked up and saw Liu Yuqing looking as if she was full of hesitations, ready to burst.

”What’s up? It’s okay, you can speak normally, it won’t affect the recording.”

Liu Yuqing hurriedly explained, ”I just suddenly thought that when grilling saury, they don’t seem to remove the internal organs. I wonder why.”

Fu Yu casually said, ”The internal organs of saury don’t need to be cleaned. You grill them without gutting, the innards have a unique flavor, some people particularly like this taste, a bit bitter and slightly fishy-sweet.”

Liu Yuqing curiously asked, ”The fish looks beautiful when grilled whole, but what if a customer dislikes the situation and breaks into the innards with chopsticks, what can be done?”

Fu Yu turned the saury over, ”You can avoid gutting the saury’s belly by extending chopsticks inside when removing the gills to clean out the internal organs.”

Liu Yuqing nodded, saying nothing more, staring wide-eyed at the phone screen, watching Fu Yu operate.

During grilling, the biggest fear is not mastering the heat properly. If the food is over-grilled, getting scorched, both the appearance and the taste will be affected.

But Fu Yu seemed not to care about this at all.

After turning the saury over, he began to handle the radish puree.

Peeled the radish and shred it into puree.

The shredded radish puree contains a lot of moisture, squeeze out 2/3 of the water.

Liu Yuqing frowned while watching.

Fu Yu usually works in the back kitchen, the first day Liu Yuqing stayed a bit longer to see him flipping the wok and plating.

At that time, she was somewhat surprised, feeling that Fu Yu’s cooking skills were exceptional.

Now, seeing him grilling at a close distance again, she couldn’t help but find it very novel, the scene very beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

Fu Yu’s hands moved very fast, as he cooked, he increasingly appreciated the advantage brought by this speed.

Moreover, while the hand speed increased, the stability of cooking operations was not affected.

Watching Fu Yu cook is a very happy thing.

It makes one unconsciously relax.

Liu Yuqing realized this when she inadvertently blurted out her thoughts, ”Watching the grilled saury looks so fragrant! If it were grilled outdoors, wouldn’t it be like in the movies, inserting it with a branch directly to grill, savoring it with hands, how enjoyable that would be!”

Fu Yu couldn’t help but look up at Liu Yuqing.

He had to admit, Liu Yuqing was really quite pretty.

Her skin was particularly fair, making her facial features look very proper and beautiful.

Fu Yu hadn’t had much education, was especially poor in language.

But in his words, she ”grows just to my liking.”

Fu Yu always liked girls who were tall and slim, with fair skin and long legs, and delicate features.

Not to mention, the girl in front of him looked much more attractive than anyone he had ever seen.

He always thought that the waitress Qu Jing from the music restaurant was already among the most beautiful women he’d seen, but Liu Yuqing exuded an entirely different, uniquely charming aura.

Now hearing Liu Yuqing utter such childish words, Fu Yu couldn’t help but slightly smile: Still quite cute!

”What’s this, are you craving it?” Fu Yu teased with a smile.

Liu Yuqing felt a bit embarrassed but still smiled and said, ”Well, mainly your cooking skill is top-notch, and the scent is too tempting!”

Looking at Liu Yuqing’s slightly flushed cheeks, Fu Yu unexpectedly said, ”I’ll have a word with procurement later and have him bring two more sauries tomorrow. If you are free during lunch, come find me. I’ll grill one for you to taste.”

Liu Yuqing was startled at first, then pleasantly surprised, ”Chef Fu, you’re inviting me for grilled saury?”

Fu Yu nonchalantly replied, ”Yeah, you just come to get it.”

Liu Yuqing quickly refused, ”No need, I can’t let you spend!”

Fu Yu casually said, ”It’s okay, things procured don’t cost money, I’m just helping to grill it.”

On hearing this, Liu Yuqing happily said, ”Alright, then thank you.”

Fu Yu glanced at Liu Yuqing, ”You’re welcome, consider it a thank you for helping me record today.”
