The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

In a hurry, the Female Police Officer could only whisper a reminder to her mother: ”Mom, we have to move. Be careful and watch out in a bit!”

As soon as she finished speaking, the Female Police Officer stood up and walked towards the stage.

She was in the second team, prepared to go on stage to cooperate with the purchasing activity and seize the opportunity to control the suspect.

The elderly lady was reaching with her chopsticks to grab a piece of pork shoulder when she heard this and her first reaction was to turn her head to look at her daughter.

The Female Police Officer walked forward, her expression calm, with her chest hunched in, her steps small, her disguise realistic, and her bodily actions vividly mimicking.

Just as she was about to go on stage, a figure suddenly darted out from the left side, wearing a comfortable tracksuit. Although he looked old, his back was straight, and his gaze was piercing.

Before anyone else could react, this person had leaped onto the stage with a quick move, heading straight for the host.

The scene instantly turned chaotic.

The Female Police Officer had no time to think, her first reaction was to pounce on the suspect nearest to her, blocking from the bottom of the stage.

Even though she moved quickly, she was still a step behind, watching as the suspect rushed past her, grabbing at nothing.

”Bang! Crash!!”

”Ah!! Damn it...”

The Female Police Officer instinctively turned her head and was stunned.

The suspect attempting to escape had fallen hard to the ground in a sorry state.

And her mother was standing just a step away from the suspect, still maintaining the motion of having hit someone.

The suspect’s head was drenched with soup, and the floor was covered with shards of shattered plates, splattered everywhere.

At the suspect’s feet was a trampled pork knuckle, clearly due to being hit on the head and then slipping on the pork knuckle and falling.

”Quick, catch him!” The elderly woman’s voice boomed as she shouted.

The Female Police Officer rushed up and subdued the suspect.

This scene was clearly captured by the surveillance cameras.

All the plainclothes officers mobilized collectively, quickly controlling the group of suspects.

Only then did the Female Police Officer hasten to her mother’s side.

”Mom, are you okay? Were you hurt just now?”

In her urgency, the Female Police Officer completely overlooked her mother’s previous brave feat, checking her mother up and down with concern, as the elderly could hardly withstand such jostling!

The elderly woman, still a bit shaken, tightly grasped her daughter’s hand and shook her head: ”I’m fine, he didn’t hit me. As soon as he came over, I knocked him flat!”

This police arrest operation went very smoothly.

And the person who had dashed onto the stage, causing the whole arrest operation to be chaotic, was actually a male police officer in disguise, just that this guy was a rookie with no case-handling experience.

When the team leader gave the order, he was so excited that he only heard the word ”action” and rushed out.

Afterwards, the male officer was thoroughly reprimanded by the leadership, blushing and repeatedly admitting his mistake.

Meanwhile, the brave act of the Female Police Officer’s mother was praised by the police bureau leadership.

Because the incident happened suddenly, the staff at the music restaurant mistakenly thought someone was causing trouble and reported it in a panic.

Other customers also took videos and photos of the scene and posted them online.

The news spread quickly, even attracting reporters from the city’s TV station.

After communicating with the police department leadership, the reporter decided to use this incident as a legal publicity opportunity, with the elderly woman’s courageous act of subduing the criminal being a highlight for the interview.

However, to protect the elderly woman’s personal safety, the interview was specifically conducted in the VIP room of the music restaurant, with a pot of trailing plant placed in front of the camera, faintly showing the silhouette of the elderly woman.

The reporter sat opposite the elderly woman, gently prompting: ”Auntie, I heard that this arrest operation was initiated by you offering to cover for the plainclothes officers, is that correct?”

The elderly woman nodded: ”That’s right.”

The reporter asked: ”Could you tell us why you made such a decision back then?”

The elderly woman said: ”Because I have always bought health products here before, until my daughter discovered it and told me it was a fraudulent gang specifically deceiving the elderly. I was persuaded, and since I was a member, I proposed helping them as cover to catch these bad guys.”

Reporter: ”...Oh, so you turned from a wrong path... Then, can you tell us when the suspect tried to escape, you didn’t care about your own safety and stood up, what were you thinking at that moment?”

The elderly woman sighed: ”At that time, I was eating braised pork knuckle, and my daughter suddenly said we were about to take action and told me to be careful! I instinctively picked up the plate in front of me.”

”Mainly because the braised pork knuckle was just so delicious! My reaction was purely reflexive.”

”The suspect escaped from my daughter and happened to run in front of me, I didn’t even think and just smashed the plate in my hand down.”

”He was hit by me, the plate shattered, and as he tried to keep running, he stepped on the pork knuckle, slipping and falling.”

”In the end, it’s my daughter who subdued him!”

The elderly woman spoke with quite some pride.

Reporter: ”...”

The reporter took a deep breath and tried hard to steer the topic back to the theme of this arrest activity, leading the elderly woman to talk about the time she was deceived into buying health products.

Then they had a thought-provoking discussion criticizing the fraudulent organizations that deceitfully target the elderly in such malicious ways.

Successfully elevating the topic.

Finally, the reporter asked the elderly woman with a smile: ”Auntie, for your brave performance, the police department will issue a commendation. Besides that, our TV station also prepared a gift for you. Is there anything you want or like? We might be able to fulfill a small wish for you.”

The elderly woman, quite pleased, quickly said: ”Yes! I especially want to meet the chef who made this braised pork knuckle, the dish is so delicious! I’m not trying to steal the recipe! I just want to know which chef made it, so I can order from him next time.”

Reporter: ”!”

The reporter, laughing and crying, asked: ”Can’t you come here anytime to eat it? Why do you have to meet the chef?”

The elderly woman seriously said: ”It’s not the same! One chef makes a dish with a unique flavor, even if it’s the same dish, made by a different person, the taste changes. This chef is superb, his cooking is authentic, exactly like the taste I had when I was young! It’s been so many years, and I’ve never come across another chef whose cooking is this good!”

The reporter didn’t expect the elderly woman to be so earnest. In shock, after seeing the director’s cue card, he composed himself to continue.

”Sure, since this is your wish, we will definitely make it happen for you!”

The reporter said with a smile as the cameraman stopped recording.

Everyone present collectively heaved a sigh of relief.

No wonder they say ’old kids, little kids,’ this elderly woman truly doesn’t play by the rules!

Luckily, the interview eventually ended smoothly. Later, they would shoot another segment, fulfilling the elderly woman’s wish by letting her meet the chef.
