The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 383: Chapter 382: How Can Someone Be So Outstanding?

Even at this moment, Zhang Zhen felt quite self-satisfied for his foresight, although he thought he handled the matter rather poorly.

Fortunately!

He had invited Fu Yu in advance.

He personally witnessed Fu Yu’s culinary skills, and had also seen the herbal cuisine done on previous occasions, which truly showcased his remarkable craftsmanship and technique.

If not for this, given the vision of his boss, they wouldn’t have specially prepared a promotional menu for Fu Yu’s herbal cuisine.

The prices listed on it even made him feel jittery.

Now, listening to Xiao Jiping mentioning it, Zhang Zhen took the opportunity to introduce Fu Yu.

”Rest assured, I’ve invited a chef who specializes in herbal cuisine.”

Zhang Zhen deliberately turned the camera toward Fu Yu.

Fu Yu smiled at the camera and greeted, ”Hello Dr. Xiao, my name is Fu Yu.”

Xiao Jiping, looking at the handsome chef on the screen, seemed somewhat surprised but still smiled and said, ”Hello, Mr. Fu!”

The two exchanged a few pleasantries.

Xiao Jiping said, ”This child’s liver is inflamed, with hormonal imbalance, and oily skin needing soothing. But she’s still young, so it needs to be gentle. You are the expert on herbal cuisine, and rely on you to help her adjust.”

Fu Yu nodded, ”Sure, I will keep that in mind.”

Having finished what needed saying, Xiao Jiping laughed, ”Mr. Fu, actually, I’m quite interested in herbal cuisine as well. I have a small request, after you finalize the specific herbal treatment course, could I have a look at your herbal recipes? I’m really not skilled in cooking, but perhaps we can discuss the prescriptions.”

Being in medicine for decades, Xiao Jiping is always rigorous and earnest in addressing patients’ issues.

The current situation is similar to him diagnosing but others treating the patient with prescriptions. The old man really can’t relax.

Zhang Zhen looked toward Fu Yu with some concern, fearing he might mind.

Fu Yu smiled slightly, ”Sure, I actually already have some ideas, I’ll organize them and then send them to you for review.”

The remote consultation wrapped up smoothly.

Zhang Zhen sincerely expressed his gratitude, ”Chef Fu, thank you so much today! When shall we start the herbal dietary therapy?”

After speaking, he hurriedly added, ”I can arrange for home service.”

Fu Yu readily replied, ”How about tomorrow then.”

Zhang Zhen beamed, ”Great, that’s wonderful!”

Having set the date for the herbal dietary therapy, Zhang Zhen felt very pleased.

If they could truly cure Zhang Xueyao’s condition, it would be a relief of sorts.

Though calling it sponsorship, he had actually invested significant energy in caring for the child, and from the heart, he had long considered Zhang Xueyao like his own child.

Zhang Zhen had some matters to assign in the kitchen and couldn’t leave.

Fu Yu didn’t delay further, bade farewell, and left.

After Fu Yu left, Zhang Zhen told Zhang Xueyao, ”Wait here for a moment, I’ll come fetch you after I’m done arranging things in the kitchen.”

Settling Zhang Xueyao down, Zhang Zhen left the dormitory and headed to the kitchen.

Passing by the front hall, he happened to run into Li Xintong who had just clocked out and was preparing to leave.

Seeing Zhang Zhen’s brisk steps and smiling face, Li Xintong guessed that the treatment arrangements had gone smoothly, and thus inquired proactively, ”Chef Zhang, how did it go? Have you contacted the traditional Chinese medicine doctor?”

Zhang Zhen, wearing a smile, replied, ”I did reach him, Dr. Xiao’s medical skills are indeed impressive. Just a glance at the photos and test reports, and he made a diagnosis.”

As the front hall manager, Li Xintong excelled at interacting with people, clearly aware that Zhang Zhen, being in a good mood now, most needed compliments and acknowledgment from others.

Thinking of this, Li Xintong smiled and said, ”Congratulations! Chef Zhang!”

”The old Chinese doctor at the Provincial Third Hospital must be exceptionally skilled! I really didn’t expect you could even make a connection there! I have a friend who tried booking an appointment at the Provincial Third Hospital and waited two whole days just to enter, and another week for the consultation!”

”Chef Zhang, your network is really extensive!”

After speaking, Li Xintong specially praised, ”And it’s just Yaoyao’s good fortune to have met you, someone kind-hearted and capable! Most people, even if they want to help, would find themselves powerless.”

This statement was rather spot-on.

Zhang Zhen indeed felt heartened and refreshed by the words and was just about to speak when his phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Zhang Xueyao’s grandmother.

Zhang Zhen quickly answered, ”Hello, Auntie!”

The other side inquired something, and Zhang Zhen smiled reassuringly, ”Yaoyao’s treatment has been arranged, starting tomorrow. I’ve invited a very skilled herbal cuisine chef to assist with the seasoning, and the optimal medicinal food plan has been designed. This set of herbal recipes has even been endorsed by Dr. Xiao from the Provincial Third Hospital. Tomorrow, I’ll send the detailed herbal recipe over and have Dr. Xiao take a look at the herb recipe once more...”

Pausing briefly, after the other party finished speaking, Zhang Zhen cheerfully said, ”Rest assured, the herbal cuisine chef I found works right here at our restaurant, so we know his background and won’t be deceived, he is particularly skilled! The few dishes tailored are identical to the therapeutic prescriptions Dr. Xiao specifically instructed!”

Zhang Zhen was comforting the old lady to put her at ease.

Li Xintong was stunned: Herbal cuisine chef? Could it be Fu Yu?

Once Zhang Zhen hung up, Li Xintong couldn’t help but curiously ask, ”Chef Zhang, are you saying, Yaoyao will continue with herbal cuisine treatment?”

Zhang Zhen chuckled as he briefly outlined the circumstances.

Li Xintong was dumbfounded.

Was it really possible to gain recognition from an expert in traditional Chinese medicine at the Provincial Third Hospital?

Fu Yu’s herbal cuisine, was it really that impressive?

Li Xintong thought back to that paper randomly scribbled with dish names... turns out they were rare prescriptions!

This guy, was he really that excellent!

After all, herbal dietary supplements are greatly beneficial to the body. Customization would certainly be unaffordable, but accidentally learning a few remedies like today isn’t bad at all.

Thinking back carefully, what dishes did Fu Yu write then?

Loquat Leaf Chrysanthemum Porridge?

Fruit and Green Bean Drink?

These are recipes specifically for acne treatment, better jot them down, might come in handy one day.

While mentally noting the remedies, Li Xintong sincerely exclaimed, ”I really didn’t expect, Chef Fu is so impressive!”

Seems like maintaining a good relationship with him in the future is essential!

Zhang Zhen nodded in agreement.

He was a bit giddy with the compliments earlier, and now walked light-footed toward the kitchen.

He felt quite awesome himself, managing to contact Xiao Jiping from the Provincial Third Hospital and have him assist with remote video consultations.

Who else, really?

But... the most impressive was still Fu Yu!

This young man, barely in his early twenties, how could he be so outstanding!

Zhang Zhen had always known that Fu Yu’s culinary skills were excellent, he was very talented, and also quite intelligent.

But he never expected that Fu Yu could also make herbal cuisine!

And it seemed not just like putting on a show, but truly possessing real skill and knowledge!

Those herbal dishes regarded as rare treatments by Xiao Jiping could easily fill up a sheet of paper in Fu Yu’s hand.

How profound must the insight be, how abundant the knowledge accumulation, and how extensive the experience gathered, to achieve such a feat?
