The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 380: Chapter 379: That’s Wonderful News

Zhang Zhen looked at the messily scribbled page and was very concerned about the customized medicinal diet, so he asked, ”Chef Fu, how is it? Can this illness be adjusted?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”There’s somewhat of a clue now.”

Watching the two start to chat again, Li Xintong couldn’t hold back.

On one hand, she originally thought that Fu Yu should be quite capable, otherwise the store wouldn’t specifically promote medicinal cuisine for him.

But seeing Fu Yu scribble a bunch of fruit and vegetable names on paper like a ghost drawing, and then constantly cross them out and change them back and forth, her previous belief that Fu Yu was unfathomable began to waver a bit.

She thought he really had some skills and was a remarkable person!

Now it seems, he’s purely bluffing!

But then again, when it comes to seeing a doctor and taking medicine, the most reliable action is definitely to go to the hospital to find a doctor.

Did you think that treating illnesses and saving people was something anyone could do?

Can you just eat and drink carelessly and expect medicinal effects?

On the other hand, she specifically came to find Zhang Zhen for some serious matters.

”Chef Zhang, just now President Ma called, saying he couldn’t reach you and dialed the front desk instead. It seems the senior TCM doctor from the Third Hospital you previously asked him to contact has agreed to help with a consultation. Since you can’t go there, he said you could take a photo and send it over, and the old doctor can do a remote consultation via video.”

Zhang Zhen was about to speak to Fu Yu but was startled upon hearing this, and looked at Li Xintong in surprise, ”Really? Just taking a photo can lead to remote consultation?”

Li Xintong candidly conveyed, ”This is what President Ma said. He asked you to call him back when you have time; they need to confirm a time for the consultation.”

”Oh, that’s really wonderful!”

Zhang Zhen clapped excitedly.

”I need to quickly call President Ma back.”

Zhang Zhen reached into his pocket, only to realize he was in such a hurry that he didn’t even bring his phone.

He was truly particularly worried about Zhang Xueyao’s condition, having visited all the major dermatology departments in the city’s hospitals.

No shortage of prescriptions, having tried various treatments, but nothing was effective.

Later, he inadvertently heard that a long-time patron of the music restaurant had a family member who was a leader at the Provincial Third Hospital. He hurriedly got in touch with them and, after much effort, finally managed to arrange an appointment with a very famous senior TCM doctor in the provincial capital for Zhang Xueyao’s consultation.

The TCM department at the Provincial Third Hospital is renowned nationwide, and this doctor is said to be an expert in the TCM field. With him helping with the consultation, Zhang Xueyao’s skin disease might actually be curable.

Thinking of this, even Li Xintong felt full of anticipation.

The matter of Zhang Zhen privately supporting underprivileged students is unknown to others, but the leaders in the store are all aware.

Li Xintong has a son about the same age as Zhang Xueyao, so after understanding the girl’s actual situation, she feels especially sympathetic towards her.

Fu Yu, upon hearing this, was a bit surprised as well. The senior TCM doctor from the Provincial Third Hospital is definitely an expert!

If the senior doctor could take a look and then confirm Zhang Xueyao’s specific condition, it would certainly make his medicinal cuisine treatment much more effective.

Fu Yu was originally not very skilled in medical matters, even though he has obtained advanced skills in medicinal cuisine, he definitely still pales in comparison to doctors with more experience.

If he could have some communication with the other party, it might also better help in adjusting Zhang Xueyao’s condition.

Zhang Zhen left his phone in the kitchen, and now, eager to return President Ma’s call, he didn’t want to waste even a second.

Nonetheless, he didn’t underestimate Fu Yu’s side either.

Zhang Zhen narrated the process of how he managed to contact the senior TCM doctor from the Provincial Third Hospital to Fu Yu in detail.

”Previously, President Ma didn’t give me any definite answer, it was really hard to contact that senior doctor, and after waiting for so long, I kind of lost hope here. I never expected this actually worked out!”

After saying this, Zhang Zhen sincerely invited, ”Chef Fu, do you have any engagements tonight? Let’s have a meal together; Yaoyao is here as well, and I’ll discuss arranging the consultation time with President Ma. If possible, could you join the remote consultation as well?”

Zhang Zhen has always been quick-thinking and astute. Regardless of the outcome, he’s already acknowledged the favor from Fu Yu, and even if Zhang Xueyao’s condition gets effectively treated by the senior doctor, he still needs to maintain a good relationship with Fu Yu.

”I think this opportunity with the senior doctor is rare, let’s let Yaoyao try the consultation first. Skin diseases aren’t like others, eventually, it still requires long-term adjustment, and if the medicinal cuisine works, it would be best to continue eating it.”

Fu Yu naturally had no objections and nodded.

Zhang Zhen settled Zhang Xueyao and hurriedly took Fu Yu back to the kitchen.

President Ma was very decisive in agreeing to help contact the senior doctor.

Zhang Zhen nervously waited for a while, and soon received a message from President Ma stating that the consultation was scheduled for 6 PM.

Although the senior doctor was quite aged, after being rehired by the hospital, quite a number of people came to seek treatment because of his reputation.

Every day, he had to consult in the hospital until night, and working overtime was a common occurrence.

Today, the senior doctor precisely could finish his work by 6 PM, thus arranging Zhang Xueyao for the remote video consultation at this time.

Zhang Zhen treated the dinner, choosing a local restaurant specializing in whole lamb dishes.

Fu Yu suddenly discovered Zhang Zhen also had a keen insight into food.

This whole lamb restaurant was quite unique; although the store wasn’t big, the business was thriving, and the chef’s culinary skills were truly authentic.

After not having lamb for a while, once you have some out of the blue, it really leaves a lingering fragrance in your mouth.

In fact, Zhang Xueyao’s condition warranted avoiding lamb, which can easily cause gastric heat, but Fu Yu thought that after the senior doctor’s consultation, dietary restrictions would certainly not be lacking, so one meal didn’t hurt.

After dinner, they returned to the music restaurant.

The staff in the kitchen had either finished their shifts and left or stayed without much work to do.

Zhang Zhen went over to give brief instructions and then took Fu Yu and Zhang Xueyao to his room.

Earlier, taking advantage of the sunlight outside, Zhang Zhen took some high-resolution photos of Zhang Xueyao and sent them to the senior doctor.

There was no reply from the other side.

Zhang Zhen was anxious, afraid there might be last-minute changes.

Finally enduring until six, he hurriedly made the video call to the senior doctor as scheduled.

Thank heavens!

The call was almost immediately answered upon dialing.

The phone’s screen size was limited, but it was enough to clearly see the elderly doctor in a white coat appearing in the frame, as well as the office-like file cabinet behind him.

The senior doctor, looking white-haired and at least sixty or seventy years old, smiled when he saw the video connected and asked, ”Were you waiting anxiously?”

Zhang Zhen hastily responded, ”No, Dr. Xiao, hello!”

Once the conversation started, the consultation atmosphere instantly took off.

This made Fu Yu have to marvel at the professional difference.

Even if the senior doctor did nothing but show his face in front of the camera, it inexplicably exuded credibility.
