The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 400: Chapter 399: Is There Still a Limit?

This discovery, in a way, confirms his previous thoughts.

The creation of every method for using seasonings is always in line with customers’ desires and represents the most suitable and popular taste changes in that environment and time.

And what he needs to do now is to innovate and improve according to people’s current dining preferences, thereby finding a barbecue secret recipe that can be most widely accepted and loved by the public.

Fu Yu feels his change and progress every day.

The store’s business is good, and the number of orders in the barbecue section is on the rise.

With a large number of meal orders every day, Fu Yu clearly feels he is becoming more and more adept at handling them.

As an assistant chef, Zhang Jinyu has clearly observed the changes in Fu Yu’s work state.

Every dish on the order forms is assisted by Zhang Jinyu, who helps with preparation and packaging, and is the only person who can closely observe from start to finish.

He has witnessed Fu Yu’s constant improvements and changes in the cooking process, with noticeable progress almost every day.

Realizing this, Zhang Jinyu was very surprised.

This person, does he have any limits?

Liu Yuqing, who is also paying attention to Fu Yu every day, is deeply shocked.

From a young age, Liu Yuqing has been exposed to cooking; although not as skilled as her sister, she knows a little.

However, she’s not really familiar with barbecue.

Even with only partial understanding, having watched Fu Yu grill mackerel from start to finish once, she was deeply impressed!

To perfect grilled fish like this, especially at Fu Yu’s age, shows an extraordinary talent in cooking.

Comparing him to the current Fu Yu, the changes over a short period are worlds apart.

With the daily help of editing cooking videos at home, watching Fu Yu grill various ingredients, sometimes out of curiosity, she’d look up barbecue tutorials and information online.

As she enriched her knowledge of barbecue, she gradually developed new insights into grilling and even had opinions on grilling techniques.

But when she whimsically decided to review all the edited videos at once,

whether it was because of her newfound understanding of grilling, watching Fu Yu’s cooking videos again felt unfathomable!

Liu Yuqing inexplicably recalled her initial shock upon first seeing God Yao’s cooking videos.

Comparing the two, it seemed as if time had rewound.

At this moment, Liu Yuqing had the strange notion that Fu Yu might be even stronger than God Yao.

Fu Yu is also very serious about his research into grilling.

October transitioned to November in the blink of an eye.

Zhao Meng is on an early shift today.

Fu Yu woke up to his alarm clock.

When he went to clock in, he was surprised to find that the daily task content had changed.

[Ding! Daily Task: Improve existing grilling sauce to receive customer praise. Task Completion Reward: A key to the Taste Development Classroom.]

This wasn’t the first time the system enhanced his physical abilities.

Except for the mandatory physical training class, he previously improved his abilities with various external aids.

Improving taste?

For a chef, taste and smell are the two most important abilities in cooking.

As a chef, roasting a dish and judging its quality depend on three elements: color, aroma, and taste.

If one cannot smell or taste, it means losing two abilities to continue researching and improving dishes.

Being able to improve taste is an incredible asset in cooking, like giving wings to a tiger.

Fu Yu, although happy, focused on the words ”deep development.”

Could this deep development be different from previous practical teaching?

Noticing that this task required him to improve the current grilling sauce,

it was somewhat challenging!

After all, the barbecue sauce taught by Master Chen has been passed down through several generations and has received widespread customer recognition and praise.

However, thinking that through effort and experimentation, he could successfully improve a sauce recipe that took generations to perfect,

this opportunity is actually very rare.

At least in the store, generally, they wouldn’t allow him to experiment on customers like this.

After all, Fu Yu has already independently completed nearly 400 barbecue setups, and he has never encountered a customer who requested that the kitchen change the taste of the barbecue sauce.

If customers don’t make requests, the kitchen can only proceed with standard grilling procedures.

The sauce is always ready to use as needed.

Fu Yu is truly looking forward to improving the barbecue sauce.

Because it’s related to two task contents.

If he successfully improves Master Chen’s barbecue sauce, he won’t be far from creating a brand new sauce independently.

As the evening approached,

everything went smoothly, and Fu Yu frowned.

Impossible?

What was going on?

It was almost seven o’clock in the evening, yet there was no sign of completing the task.

Zhang Jinyu, always straightforward, wiped sweat from his forehead with a tissue, complaining to himself: ”It’s so stifling, I wonder when the newly installed kitchen will be operational, this environment is just too torturous!”

The original kitchen wasn’t air-conditioned, relying only on the big ceiling fan overhead to bring a bit of breeze.

The red case side was okay, at least the space was spacious, and the back and front doors allowed some cross ventilation.

The barbecue area was different. It was originally a carving area, with large floor-to-ceiling windows facing a side street outside, making it impossible to open windows for ventilation.

It relied on a front door for transferring food, using only exhaust to dissipate heat, which barely worked.

In the small space, two grills were set up, and once busy with coals burning, it was like a furnace.

Fu Yu was also looking forward to the new kitchen.

Since discovering that the neighboring Dayu Mall had been bought by their boss, folks in the store would periodically stroll there for a look.

The kitchen’s outline was beginning to take shape.

Walls had been opened up for expansion, underfloor heating pipes rearranged, and after the flooring and waterproofing were done, the remaining details would follow quickly.

After wiping his sweat, Zhang Jinyu grabbed another tissue to help Fu Yu.

Fu Yu turned his head to cooperate with Zhang Jinyu’s actions.

After wiping the sweat, just as Fu Yu was about to speak, his phone rang from his pocket.

Zhang Jinyu quickly stepped forward to answer, responding before holding the phone to Fu Yu’s ear: ”Chef Fu, it’s Sister Gao on the phone!”
