The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 382: Chapter 381: The Gap Between People

After Xiao Jiping finished speaking, he pondered over the new plan he had just proposed, furrowing his brows slightly.

He was thinking about which fruits and vegetables would be suitable for simmering with herbs, effectively treating acne symptoms and perfectly balancing the bitter taste of traditional medicine.

For example...

While pondering, Xiao Jiping said, ”Acne patients need to be extremely mindful of their diet since a good dietary environment is an effective way to improve acne.”

”Eating plenty of leafy vegetables is definitely good, and one should ensure a daily intake of water-rich fruits.”

”Though it’s best to keep the diet light, it doesn’t mean avoiding meat; protein intake is still necessary, so lean meat should be consumed, though fatty meat can be reduced.”

”As for traditional Chinese medicine, I know a few herbal recipes you might want to try.”

”For instance, garlic and Bletilla striata with boiled carp is an old recipe that has shown significant effects on acne treatment.”

”Then there’s mung bean and coix seed soup, which is also good—simmer it and drink as water.”

”Actually, in traditional Chinese medicine treatment, the essential aspect is the effectiveness of the herbs. As long as it addresses the symptoms, there are not many restrictions or requirements on the method of consumption.”

Just as he finished speaking, there was no reaction from Zhang Zhen’s side, but suddenly a round of applause came from the phone.

There was a young assistant physician in Xiao Jiping’s office who hadn’t left yet. Upon hearing his insights on traditional Chinese medicine treatment, the assistant physician couldn’t help but clap in appreciation.

This was truly an ingenious suggestion!

After all, there has long been a saying, ”medicine and food share the same source.”

It shows that the matching of traditional Chinese medicine and ingredients follows the principles of the Five Elements and Zang-Xiang theory.

Now, the remedies mentioned by Xiao Jiping are actually two recipes from medicinal cuisine.

However, traditional Chinese medicine mainly relies on herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping therapy, and the four diagnostic methods.

Medicinal cuisine is categorized as a folk remedy.

”Dr. Xiao, it turns out you also have research in medicinal cuisine! The two herbal recipes you mentioned are really excellent! They can clear heat and detoxify, reduce swelling and disperse nodules—perfect for acne patients!”

The assistant physician praised repeatedly.

Hearing the young physician’s compliments, Xiao Jiping couldn’t help but smile slightly.

He then looked at the camera and asked, ”Mr. Zhang, what do you think of this herbal culinary approach?”

On this side of the camera.

Zhang Zhen was a bit surprised but also a bit at a loss.

He originally placed his full hope on Xiao Jiping, believing that Xiao would definitely come up with a very ingenious treatment plan.

Given Xiao Jiping’s status and expertise, he was sure to have his own unique insights and treatment methods for acne.

Indeed, Xiao Jiping was very impressive,

knowing the acne treatment methods like the back of his hand.

Many of his statements indeed coincided with what dermatology experts had previously advised.

Acne really needs to be controlled through diet.

Many fruits and vegetables actually have significant effects on treating acne symptoms, and if herbs can be combined with ingredients in the preparation, the effect would be even better...

Combining fruits and vegetables with herbs results in medicinal cuisine prepared through cooking certain herbs and foods with medicinal value, right?

It turns out after all the trouble, you’ve come back to its original form.

The real expert sat right in front of him, now smiling, approvingly looking at the phone screen.

And when Xiao Jiping listed the names of the two medicinal cuisines,

Zhang Zhen was completely taken aback!

Such familiar names, such familiar ingredient combinations...

Just a few hours earlier, he saw the exact same names on a page scribbled all over by Fu Yu!

Zhang Zhen was shocked, looking at Fu Yu in disbelief!

The feeling was like climbing a mountain to worship a Buddha, but halfway up, meeting the Buddha and thinking that since you’re not at the top yet, this Buddha must be fake, deciding to continue climbing.

After the initial surprise, Zhang Zhen listened even more carefully to Xiao Jiping’s explanations on the benefits of medicinal food therapy.

The more he listened, the more astonished he became!

Every word, every phrase matched exactly what Fu Yu had said before!

By the end, Zhang Zhen had to admit that this was clearly the medicinal dietary plan Fu Yu had designed for Zhang Xueyao before.

Zhang Zhen widened his eyes, looking at Fu Yu in disbelief.

It turned out he had already designed the most suitable medicinal cuisine therapy for treating acne.

Yet, when interrupted halfway, not only did he have no complaints, but he also calmly and humbly followed along to consult.

Thinking about it, if I were asked to prepare a feast and mid-way they changed their plans and invited someone else, then still slapped my face by having me watch the cooking?

Flipping the table wouldn’t be out of the question!

What tremendous composure Fu Yu must possess to face it all so calmly!

Zhang Zhen found it unbelievable.

Because he himself definitely couldn’t maintain such a state.

But looking at Fu Yu now, not only had he cooperatively come along to listen to the consultation, but he hadn’t said a word since arrival, quietly listening—occasionally nodding during Xiao Jiping’s diagnosis, indicating his agreement.

No complaints.

Did he not feel neglected at all?

Upon reflection, Zhang Zhen sincerely felt this might just be the difference between people!

Because of his excellence, being exceptionally confident in his medicinal culinary skills, he simply didn’t mind these things...

At this moment, Xiao Jiping suddenly shifted the topic and said, ”It’s been said that food is medicine; while drugs become food, food is given medicinal properties.”

”Medicinal cuisine is unlike ordinary herbal prescriptions, nor regular food; it’s a unique diet that combines the efficacy of medicine with culinary delight. However, seeking both gastronomic pleasure and health benefits, where illnesses are treated through the enjoyment, is indeed challenging.”

Different trades are worlds apart.

The medicinal cuisine treatment method was devised.

However, at the same time, a problem emerged.

And that is the cooking of medicinal cuisine.

All herbs must be processed with the optimal cooking method to effectively release components, maximizing medicinal effects through decoction.

But the method of decoction directly influences the efficacy.

If the correct method is not used in cooking, even the best medicinal cuisine will not fully deliver its intended benefits, preventing effective treatment of diseases.

A recipe for medicinal cuisine isn’t enough.

Generally, the more refined a medicinal cuisine, the more it relies on exceptional culinary skills as a foundation.

Xiao Jiping suggested, ”In the provincial capital, I know two chefs skilled in cooking medicinal cuisines, but they’re quite far away, which isn’t very convenient. I’m not sure if there’s a place nearby where you can get medicinal cuisine done. Best if you can find a reliable one since mishandling the herbs might not only fail in treating but might even harm the body!”
