The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 391: Chapter 390: A Role Model Right Before You

Fu Yu returned to Qianlima in the afternoon and just heard that the four newcomers from the chef school had already reported in the morning.

With payday tomorrow, two people from the finance department teamed up to go to the bank to schedule tomorrow’s withdrawal.

Accountant Xin Li and cashier Su Hong, who are usually inseparable, happened to see Fu Yu as they passed through the front hall, so they greeted him with a smile.

Fu Yu is energetic and polite, leaving a good impression on everyone.

The three of them stood and chatted.

Knowing Fu Yu went out for home service, they asked him a few more questions.

Ever since the incident with the former manager Jia Rundong, the interest in these matters has remained high among the staff.

After all, how long has it been since Jia Rundong’s downfall?

Everyone knows that it was because of Fu Yu that he was made a pariah.

When the restaurant staff are busy, they are really busy, and when they’re idle, they’re truly idle. With various rules and regulations, the biggest pastime is gathering to gossip.

Recently, people have been talking about everything.

Regarding Jia Rundong’s downfall, people have been following it closely and know all the details.

However, the one person who remains most mysterious to everyone is Fu Yu.

He used to seem like an ordinary young man, but now he’s more difficult to figure out.

In such a short time, news about Fu Yu has been continuous.

First, he smoothly became a full-time employee, then toppled Jia Rundong, took over Zhao Meng’s role during the October event, participated in a cooking competition, and won first place.

With such an impressive record, he has become the most interesting topic and point of discussion in the restaurant now.

Xin Li and Su Hong were so warm and friendly that Fu Yu couldn’t help but check their affection values.

To his surprise, Xin Li’s favorability was unknowingly up to 20 points, and Su Hong’s was up to 10 points.

Fu Yu couldn’t help but touch his face.

Is this based purely on looks?

After all, he usually doesn’t have much chance to interact with the finance people.

Fu Yu couldn’t help feeling a bit pleased with himself.

...

Sun Qingning familiarized Liu Junrong and Sun Weixing with the kitchen environment, and also took them to the dormitory and changing room.

”Since you guys are from other places, you’ll definitely need to stay here. Later, find a leader to arrange a room, then you can move your luggage over.”

The newcomers were here today just to get familiar with the environment; they would officially start work tomorrow.

Four newcomers, two were assigned to Zhao Meng’s side.

Liu Junrong has an ordinary appearance, a calm demeanor, doesn’t speak much, and dresses conservatively—seems like a very reliable person.

Sun Weixing is short, very thin, a bit shy, and polite when speaking, just a little unsophisticated—a particularly honest type.

The other two, who were more flamboyant, were assigned to Gu Yunwu’s side.

One is named Lu Yao, a burly man with a dark complexion and a loud voice, with a good personality.

The other is named Qi Shun, an energetic young man with a trendy style.

When he first arrived at the kitchen, some servers even came over to take a look, claiming the second handsome guy in the kitchen was born.

After the tour, Sun Qingning had to get back to cooking, while Liu Junrong and Sun Weixing went to find the front hall manager to arrange their dormitory.

The two of them left the kitchen side by side.

Sun Weixing whispered excitedly, ”As expected of Qianlima, the kitchen is really spacious, and the dormitory is nice. It’s way better than our school!”

Liu Junrong nodded and whispered back, ”It’d be great if we could stay. My family hopes I can stay in Bei’an.”

With that, he made Sun Weixing feel a bit bittersweet.

But... for a big restaurant like this, it’s not up to them to decide if they can stay. Figuring out if they can successfully transition to full-time after the internship is hard enough on its own.

They’ve long heard how such prestigious places like Qianlima have high turnover in the kitchen staff, making it even harder for newcomers to establish themselves.

Being assigned to intern at Qianlima is already a huge stroke of luck.

Thinking of this, Sun Weixing encouraged, ”We’re already very lucky. Let’s work hard and maybe we really can stay!”

Liu Junrong smiled, ”You’re right! Let’s do our best, buddy!”

Sun Weixing nodded, ”Yeah, let’s work hard!”

Having already taken the first step, no matter how hard it gets, they must give it their all.

When the two approached the front hall, Sun Weixing suddenly saw Fu Yu!

”Junrong, look! Isn’t that Fu Yu?”

Sun Weixing pointed to Fu Yu, who was standing not far ahead, talking to someone.

Liu Junrong turned to look and indeed recognized Fu Yu.

The two had seen Fu Yu’s cooking performance at the school celebration before and were deeply impressed by his culinary skills.

Liu Junrong curiously asked, ”Why is he here? Doesn’t he have work today?”

Sun Weixing casually replied, ”Maybe it’s his day off. Should we go over and say hello?”

Meeting an acquaintance here, even though they weren’t close, was still more familiar than others.

Liu Junrong nodded, ”Let’s go. We’ll be working together later; knowing someone can make a difference.”

As they talked, they headed over.

”Chef Fu!”

Fu Yu turned at the sound and saw two unfamiliar young guys greeting him.

”We’re students from the chef school here for kitchen reporting today!”

Facing Fu Yu, the shy Sun Weixing immediately chickened out, so Liu Junrong stepped up and greeted him first, prompting Sun Weixing to follow.

Fu Yu remembered, smiling, ”Oh, it’s you guys! Have you been to the kitchen?”

Liu Junrong nodded, ”We’ve already been there. We’re now going to find Manager Jia for dorm keys.”

Fu Yu asked, ”How do you find the place?”

Liu Junrong honestly replied, ”It’s nice, spacious kitchen, and the dormitory is fine too.”

Fu Yu thought of something and asked, ”Which side are you assigned to?”

Liu Junrong hurriedly said, ”We’re with Chef Zhao.”

Fu Yu smiled at this, ”Alright then, do well here. Qianlima is quite good, and the work atmosphere in the kitchen is nice. Chef Zhao is fair and skilled. I think you can really work hard here, aim for full-time in the future. It’s quite good.”

Liu Junrong grinned, ”I dare not think about full-time yet; just getting through the internship is all I ask.”

Beside them, Xin Li laughed, ”What’s there to be afraid of aiming for? The example is right in front of you! Chef Fu turned full-time in less than a year.”

This left Liu Junrong and Sun Weixing dumbfounded.

Less than a year and already full-time?

This... this is too amazing!

They looked at Fu Yu with eyes full of admiration!

Fu Yu said, ”You can go fetch your keys now. I also stay at the dorm; if there’s anything, feel free to come find me.”

Liu Junrong and Sun Weixing thanked him repeatedly.

After they left, they both felt quite fortunate.

Meeting someone familiar in a strange work environment really is one of the luckiest things.

Especially when this person seems very easy-going.
