The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 362: Chapter 361: This Dish Looks Amazing!

Fu Yu was startled at first, then realized.

Liu Yuqing.

This name differed from his cheap teacher Liu Yunong by just one word.

It sounds as if they could be sisters.

What a coincidence.

The thought flashed by, and Fu Yu didn’t dwell on it.

The kitchen hand soon brought over the cleaned turtle.

Fu Yu began cooking.

He put the turtle into boiling water until the outside turned white and wrinkled, then took it out.

Placed it in warm water, scraped off the membrane with a knife, chopped off the tail and head, opened the back shell, and removed the innards.

After cleaning, he chopped it into two pieces, put them into a pot of boiling water to blanch, took them out, cleaned them, and removed the yellow oil from the four legs.

Zhang Jinyu stood nearby, watching Fu Yu skillfully and swiftly handle the turtle, and couldn’t help but request: ”Chef Fu, next time there’s turtle to handle, can I do it?”

Fu Yu responded casually: ”Sure.”

Zhang Jinyu was quite pleased. He’s learned a lot of cooking methods from following Fu Yu around lately, benefiting greatly.

Moreover, he found that opportunities to practice hands-on like this, as long as he asked, Fu Yu would generally agree.

[Ding! Gained +5 favorability from kitchen hand Zhang Jinyu]

Fu Yu paused for a moment, smiled slightly, and continued cooking.

Chopped chicken breast into paste, placed it in a bowl, and mixed it with chicken broth.

Blanched slices of ham, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms in boiling water and took them out.

Placed the turtle pieces on a plate, added cooking wine, scallion sections, and ginger slices, then steamed them until tender.

Took out the steamed turtle pieces, removed the bones, and put the turtle meat into a clay pot.

Poured in the chicken paste, neatly arranged the ham slices, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms on top.

Added scallion sections, ginger slices, cooking wine, refined salt, and pepper, and simmered for 15 minutes.

Removed the scallion sections, and added MSG to taste.

Fu Yu instructed, ”It can be packaged now.”

Zhang Jinyu quickly put on gloves and carried the clay pot.

The server soon came to take the packed turtle soup away.

The elderly lady, taking the exquisite takeaway box, headed towards the restaurant door amid the server’s enthusiastic farewell.

Just as she was about to reach the door, the elderly lady suddenly remembered something, turned around, and walked back.

Originally intending to find the server just now, she didn’t see anyone and ended up heading to the ordering area instead.

Liu Yuqing was following not too close nor too far from Jiang Mo, watching her adeptly introduce the restaurant’s dishes to the guests and promote various seafood.

Suddenly, someone bumped her arm.

”Young lady!”

Liu Yuqing turned around in surprise, seeing it was the elderly lady who ordered the takeout earlier.

She hurriedly asked, ”Ma’am, is there anything you need help with?”

The elderly lady said, ”My husband just got out of the hospital. The doctor mentioned quite a few dietary restrictions. I want to ask, what ingredients are in the turtle soup from your restaurant?”

Liu Yuqing: ”Huh?”

The elderly lady earnestly asked, ”Also, what shouldn’t be eaten with the turtle? I should be careful about it later.”

Liu Yuqing: ”This...”

Isn’t it just a turtle soup?

Is there really so much fuss about it?

Her own family runs a restaurant, too, and she often drinks turtle soup.

She hasn’t heard of any dietary restrictions that need attention.

However, the elderly lady did mention her husband just got out of the hospital, and the doctor advised dietary precautions.

This made her wary of saying anything reckless.

Liu Yuqing glanced at Jiang Mo, whom the supervisor had assigned to guide her.

Jiang Mo was busy introducing dishes to customers and had no time to attend to her.

The other servers were all busy as well.

Liu Yuqing looked around and had to suggest, ”Ma’am, if it’s not urgent, I can go ask in the kitchen for you, how about that?”

The elderly lady nodded, ”Okay, but be quick, I don’t want the soup to get cold.”

Liu Yuqing: ”...”

Liu Yuqing had to jog over to the kitchen.

This was her first day at work, and she hadn’t been to the kitchen yet.

Thinking that she could soon see the place where her idol works made her a bit excited inside.

Liu Yuqing really admired Yao Shi.

When she inadvertently watched a cooking video with her sister, she had seen a documentary of Yao Shi cooking.

To this day, she remembers her first glance of Yao Shi standing in front of the kitchen counter flipping the pan.

That stance, that movement, was unbelievably cool!

In her mind, a renowned chef should be like Yao Shi!

Liu Yuqing jogged into the busy kitchen, feeling a rush of excitement.

She saw inside was bustling, with everyone occupied.

Several stoves fired up simultaneously, making the indoor temperature astonishingly high.

Near the door, a young chef was busy plating, with a chef with a stern expression speaking beside him.

And at the adjacent counter, Fu Yu, whom she had seen before, was facing sideways towards her.

Over his clean and new chef’s uniform was a very eye-catching light green floral apron.

As he flipped the pan, his arm tightened, revealing solid muscle lines faintly.

At the moment Liu Yuqing saw Fu Yu standing tall at the kitchen counter flipping the pan, she found it hard to look away.

His posture was so perfect, and Fu Yu’s features were quite handsome too.

Even with just a simple pan-flipping action, he made it look particularly pleasing to the eye.

Zhao Meng, having just finished guiding Sun Qingning on plating, looked up to see a pretty server standing at the kitchen door.

He had heard that there was a newcomer in the front hall, and it must be her.

Zhao Meng called out, ”Here to deliver an order?”

Liu Yuqing quickly approached, explaining, ”Hi, I’m the new server. My name is Liu Yuqing, and I’m looking for Chef Fu.”

Zhao Meng gave her a look, then turned his head and called out, ”Fu Yu!”

Fu Yu turned his head at the sound and saw Liu Yuqing coming over.

”What’s up?”

The kitchen was very noisy, so Liu Yuqing spoke loudly, ”The elderly lady who ordered turtle soup wants to know what ingredients are in the soup. Her husband just got out of the hospital, and the doctor listed some foods to avoid. She’s worried we might have mistakenly included them.”

Fu Yu was taken aback; wasn’t this hindsight? The soup was already cooked and packed, and now they mention dietary restrictions.

He quickly ran through his mind to make sure there were no irritating ingredients in the turtle soup before saying, ”Alright, you can tell her there’s mushroom, chicken, bamboo shoots, and ham in the soup. The seasonings include...”

Liu Yuqing quickly interrupted Fu Yu, ”Chef Fu, could you please repeat that? I’ll write it down.”

Fu Yu was already preparing to plate the dish.

Zhao Meng glanced at Liu Yuqing and said, ”Fu Yu, why don’t you head to the front hall with her, what’s left to cook? Let Xiaosun cover for you.”

Fu Yu nodded in agreement, ”Alright.”

He said to Liu Yuqing, ”Please wait for me a moment.”

Liu Yuqing responded quickly, ”Okay, Chef Fu.”

Fu Yu efficiently plated the cooked dish, and casually placed it on the serving counter.

Liu Yuqing instinctively took a look, and her eyes immediately lit up.

This dish looked incredibly beautiful!
