The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 359: Chapter 358: It’s Uncomfortable Not to Put on an Act

Fu Yu chuckled, ”Teacher Qiu is a special guest invited by the school for the performance. Earlier, he guided Chef Gao and me in cooking Golden Crispy Pork and Walnut Buns live for everyone.”

”This dish, Yangbi Walnut Chicken, is something I figured out how to make myself based on Teacher Qiu’s description.”

The reporter asked with interest, ”Can you really recreate a dish just from a description?”

Fu Yu chuckled slyly, ”Well, I managed to do it, and the color, aroma, and taste of this dish almost perfectly replicate Teacher Qiu’s Yangbi Walnut Chicken.”

Reporter: ”Is it because this dish is easy to cook?”

Fu Yu paused and then replied with a smile, ”I think it’s mainly because I have a solid foundation in cooking skills, which enhances my ability to grasp new dishes more easily.”

Reporter: ”So are you subtly praising yourself for being talented?”

Fu Yu smiled softly, ”To learn good cooking skills, talent is one thing, but having a good learning environment is the most crucial.”

”A master can lead the way, but self-cultivation is personal. First, the master must be an expert in culinary skills and able to teach others. Secondly, there needs to be a suitable practice environment in the form of practical cooking classes. Most importantly, there should be a systematic and standard learning tutorial.”

The reporter understood that Fu Yu was subtly promoting the school.

Today was originally the school celebration, and most of the crowd present were visiting students and their families.

This unique school celebration activity was a way to celebrate and also promote enrollment for the new semester.

Hence, the reporter cooperatively asked, ”Has Chef Fu graduated now?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”Yes, I graduated last year. Because of my excellent performance, I was awarded an internship by the school and am now working as a chef at Qianlima Restaurant, where I’ve successfully become a full-time employee.”

The reporter further inquired, ”Could you share some good methods and tips for honing culinary skills? Most of the audience present are new students and parents who are very interested in this topic.”

”Methods and tips for learning...,” Fu Yu thought for a moment and said, ”First, you need to build a solid foundation. Attending formal school training is still very necessary. For example, I honed my skills here and graduated with a strong set of cooking skills.”

In the audience, Principal Li, who was accompanying the leaders from the Education Bureau: ”!”

Fu Yu is totally advertising the school, isn’t he?!!

Director Chen’s eyes instantly sparkled!

Good boy!

Such a great performance!

The new students and their parents in the audience were evidently intrigued and excited by Fu Yu’s words, and they began to bombard him with questions.

”What is the best major to choose if you want to study cooking?”

”Which teacher has the highest teaching level?”

”Will all graduating students be guaranteed job placements?”

...

Fu Yu smiled and said, ”Now, I would like to invite our school’s Director Chen from the Academic Affairs Office to provide detailed answers for everyone.”

Director Chen was delighted and quickly cooperated to go on stage.

Fu Yu, having accomplished his task, swiftly left.

Gao Chao looked on in shock.

Whoa!

Is this for real?

Suddenly, he saw Fu Yu wink at him.

Fu Yu: Come on, let’s get off the stage.

Gao Chao looked at Fu Yu and involuntarily said, ”Okay, Chef Fu.”

He followed Fu Yu off the stage.

Gao Chao was a bit incredulous.

He realized, somewhat laggingly, that when faced with Fu Yu, he seemingly had a bit of a tendency to obey orders.

Realizing this.

Gao Chao was somewhat startled.

And a bit unwilling!

Why can’t I control myself and end up doing whatever Fu Yu says?

Gao Chao followed Fu Yu off the stage and changed clothes.

When they came out, Fu Yu casually said, ”Thanks for your hard work earlier. If it weren’t for your help, the cooking wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.”

Gao Chao: ”!”

He was praised by Fu Yu again!

Heh heh!

[Ding! You have gained +5 favorability from NPC Chef Gao Chao]

Director Chen came over at this point, smiling and saying, ”Great job, the performance just now was terrific!”

Fu Yu replied with a smile, ”Director Chen, you’re too kind.”

Director Chen also said to Gao Chao, ”Today, we really relied on you both, or else the school celebration wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.”

Gao Chao also smiled, ”Not at all, it was mainly Chef Fu who was amazing.”

Finished speaking, he turned his head to look at Fu Yu, waiting for Fu Yu to reciprocate the praise.

But then he heard Fu Yu say, ”Director Chen, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave now.”

Gao Chao: ”...”

Isn’t this the time to modestly smile and listen to Director Chen’s thankful praise, then say a few polite words to strengthen relationships a bit?

But...

He just said he was leaving. Such a good opportunity to stand out was just forfeited?

This left Gao Chao a bit awkwardly stuck there.

Pretending wasn’t right, but not pretending felt uncomfortable too.

Anyway, at least the cooking demonstration was handled!

Li Linfeng enthusiastically came up, greeted Director Chen and Gao Chao, then took Fu Yu away.

Director Chen had to accompany the principal to see off the leaders from the education bureau, so he also left in a hurry.

Gao Chao stood in place, watching a few people leave one after another.

Is this it?

”Hey! Hello!”

Gao Chao turned to the sound of a voice; it was two very pretty female students.

He hurriedly put on a friendly smile, ”Oh, hello.”

One of the female students shyly took a step forward, looking at Gao Chao.

Gao Chao’s heart skipped a beat as he looked at the pretty student...

Could it be, she was captivated by his performance on stage just now?

Thinking he was especially handsome!

And his cooking skills were excellent?

Is this a chance for them to strike up a conversation?

Oh wow... young girls today really are...

Gao Chao silently reached into his pocket for his phone.

He unlocked it.

Opened the WeChat page.

Found his QR code.

Maybe, just exchange contact details first...

The female student, with a mix of shyness and a sense of anticipation, said, ”Excuse me, have you seen Chef Fu? We admire him a lot and want to take a picture with him as a keepsake.”

Gao Chao: ”!”

The other female student added, ”You’re his assistant, right? Could you tell us Chef Fu’s contact information?”

The first female student quickly added, ”WeChat is fine too!”

Gao Chao: ”...”

What did I do wrong?

Why did it have to turn out this way!

I’ve clearly been on stage one more time than Fu Yu, delivering a ten-minute speech!

They call him Chef Fu with respect, yet I’m just the assistant?

Is the gap really because I stood behind him?

Gao Chao quickly put his phone back into his pocket.

No wonder people say long hair and short wisdom for women!

Can you not be so superficial!

I’m not that bad, okay?

I’m Che Yuhang’s final disciple!

The future manager of Zhongxiang Restaurant’s branch!

A rising star in the culinary world!

With boundless prospects, alright?

Gao Chao quietly held his chest where it ached slightly.

Can you not judge just by looks!

Gao Chao felt he couldn’t stay here any longer or he might be crushed by the disappointment!

Confidence is so important for a chef!

First, his cooking skills were outshone, and now even his looks were overshadowed...

Sigh.

His heart ached too much...
