The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 387: Chapter 386: Beyond Envy

The papaya had already been cooked until it was soft and mushy, making it very difficult to serve it whole.

Fu Yu used a flexible scraper from the pastry side, carefully peeling off the top layer of papaya slice.

At this moment, everyone’s attention was focused, thinking that Fu Yu was about to start plating!

But he didn’t!

After fully detaching the papaya slice, Fu Yu didn’t move it to a prepared plate.

What’s he planning to do?

Chef Lin couldn’t help but take two steps forward to get a closer look.

As he moved, a few people nearby hurriedly leaned in closer too.

At this moment, Yao Shi also looked at Fu Yu with a face full of surprise. The cooking was done, so why wasn’t he plating?

It’s not that Fu Yu didn’t want to plate it; this dish of Vinegar and Ginger Papaya wasn’t intended to be served today.

For the young girl Zhang Xueyao, a dish of Garlic Lotus Bletilla Stewed Carp, Scallop with Cabbage Hearts, along with a serving of Seaweed and Coix Seed Porridge was more than enough.

This Vinegar and Ginger Papaya and Loquat Leaf Paste were prepared for her to take home and consume in measured amounts daily.

Medicinal cuisine focuses on gradual nourishment and regulation from the inside out.

Since the conditions here don’t allow it, the opportunities must be created to make sure the young girl can consume detoxifying, swelling-reducing, anti-inflammatory, and softening medicinal cuisine daily.

How to properly store the prepared medicinal cuisine while ensuring aesthetic appeal becomes especially important!

Because medicinal cuisine is often made to be eaten immediately to ensure the texture and freshness of the ingredients, this creates a time constraint.

So, after much consideration, Fu Yu settled on the Vinegar and Ginger Papaya and Loquat Leaf Paste.

Both are simple to store and very effective in treating acne.

Tian Lei glanced at Fu Yu’s actions and couldn’t help but whisper, ”Chef Lin...why isn’t he plating it?”

Chef Lin calmly said, ”Didn’t you see the glass jars placed nearby? He must be preparing to preserve it.”

Such a simple comment made the few people nearby simultaneously show expressions of surprise.

Preserve?

Weren’t the glass jars meant for the Loquat Leaf Paste later on?

Why were they now going to be used for papaya?

The key issue was that the papaya was cooked until it was soft and mushy, making it very difficult to serve whole from the pot.

How would it be placed in the jar?

Chef Lin stopped talking and continued to focus on Fu Yu’s actions.

Since Fu Yu was making this arrangement, Chef Lin undoubtedly thought he must have a well-thought-out plan.

”Chef Zhang, please bring out the ice mold.”

Zhang Zhen hurried over to fetch the ice mold.

This was part of Fu Yu’s earlier instructions: Boil water, let it cool, and pour it into shallow soft silicone ice molds designed for making gelatin shapes.

Each compartment only had a thin layer of ice frozen, with a total of five molds.

”Pour the thin layer of ice out onto the long-handled spoon.”

Zhang Zhen followed the instructions.

After arranging the thin ice, Fu Yu carefully placed the papaya on it.

Then, he laid the glass jar on its side on the kitchen counter and used the long-handled spoon to place the thin ice along with the papaya into the jar.

Two slices of ginger were then placed on top of the papaya.

The remaining papaya was stacked in the transparent glass jar using the same method.

Looking at the neatly arranged layers of papaya slices in the glass jar,

It was simply a compulsive neat freak’s dream come true!

The two new chefs couldn’t help but exclaim ”Whoa!” in their minds.

Who would have thought it could be done this way?

Others showed equally astonished expressions.

”This method is brilliant! Master, couldn’t we also use this technique for plating?”

Though unable to immediately think of a specific dish that could apply this technique,

Tian Lei had this idea and promptly shared it with Chef Lin.

Chef Lin was taken aback, then nodded in satisfaction, looking at Tian Lei with a softer expression.

Tian Lei’s eyes lit up with excitement, his ears turning red.

Indeed, as long as he followed Chef Fu’s style, he wouldn’t go wrong!

After storing the Vinegar and Ginger Papaya, Fu Yu placed it in the refrigerator.

He personally accompanied the server to send the two dishes and porridge to the front hall.

Accompanying him were Yao Shi and the cameraman.

Zhang Xueyao was seated in a small private room they had prepared; she felt a bit nervous and excited, pacing back and forth, unable to sit still.

Until the door of the private room was knocked from outside, and the server entered with the steaming medicinal cuisine.

Zhang Xueyao quickly took her seat.

A large bowl of milky white fish soup, the whole fish perfectly situated in the bowl, without a single tear.

A dish resembling blooming flowers with a novel and unique presentation, visually appetizing.

And a small bowl of seemingly soft and delicious porridge, its subtle light green hue making it look refreshing and appealing.

Yao Shi entered with the cameraman.

Fu Yu followed closely behind.

The cameraman skillfully sought out the best angles, capturing each dish of the medicinal cuisine in sequence.

Yao Shi gently communicated with Zhang Xueyao, ”Yaoyao, just eat normally later; you don’t have to mind us here. We’ll take some photos for the shop’s publicity. Don’t worry, all photos will be retouched to ensure none of your personal information is exposed.”

Zhang Xueyao obediently nodded.

She genuinely wanted to cooperate, but in front of the camera, she couldn’t help but feel anxious and uneasy.

She tried hard to ignore the camera and focused on the medicinal cuisine.

”This one is Garlic Lotus Bletilla Stewed Carp, this dish is Scallop with Cabbage Hearts, and this one is Seaweed and Coix Seed Porridge.”

A bright male voice sounded.

Zhang Xueyao turned her head toward the sound to see the young, handsome chef smiling at her.

Her gaze paused briefly before she involuntarily shifted her eyes away.

”These dishes are all very effective in treating acne. Try them and see if they suit your taste.”

Without realizing it, Zhang Xueyao looked at the dishes before her.

So, this dish resembling blossoming flowers was called Scallop with Cabbage Hearts, beautifully presented to the point she hesitated to disturb it.

Redirecting her gaze, she picked up the spoon and ladled a scoop of soup first.

Upon entry, the fresh and savory flavor, initially carrying a slight bitterness, revealed a distinct sweetness after careful tasting, perfectly blending with the fish soup, complementing each other, leaving a lingering taste.

Finishing one scoop, she couldn’t help but scoop another, and another...

After drinking several mouthfuls, only then did she take up the chopsticks to pick up a piece of fish to taste.

So tender!

The fish melted on contact, encapsulated in rich soup; the taste was even more delightful.

This fish soup was truly delicious!

As she ate the fish and sipped the soup, Zhang Xueyao couldn’t help but glance at the yellow bloom on the side.

Scallop with Cabbage Hearts, just hearing the name promised a delicious flavor.

Fu Yu asked, ”How is it? Does the fish soup taste good?”

Zhang Xueyao nodded, ”It’s delicious!”

Fu Yu smiled, ”Try the Scallop with Cabbage Hearts too; it’s bound to be good.”

Zhang Xueyao slightly nodded.

Her stomach warmed by the fish soup, she felt more eager to eat.

Carefully, she used her chopsticks to pick a cabbage leaf, savoring it.

The cabbage heart, stewed together with scallops, not only retained its inherent sweetness but also absorbed the scallops’ savory taste, soft and delectable with an engaging flavor.

How could it taste this good?

Utterly delicious!

Once she came back to her senses, she realized half of the dish was already gone.
