The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 355: Chapter 354: Money Can’t Buy Foresight

Fu Yu finished speaking and looked at the host: ”However, to make the most authentic walnut buns, you certainly have to follow Teacher Qiu’s cooking methods. As for the improved version, it’s just to cater to a few people’s tastes. After all, whether it’s brown sugar or lard, if done well, the flavor is still very rich and fragrant.”

At this moment, the host was full of excitement: ”Exactly, you are absolutely right! Moreover, Teacher Qiu uses authentic mountain walnuts from the Yangbi Walnut Forest for her walnut buns, offering a uniquely rich walnut flavor.”

The surrounding school teachers, Qiu Jingxiu’s apprentices, and a group of interview and camera crew were all stunned.

They all came specifically to assist Qiu Jingxiu with this performance event, but... right now, this cooking show had clearly turned into a program with Fu Yu as the main character!

Qiu Jingxiu stood by with hardly any role to play.

She said she would provide guidance, but from start to finish, she merely stood by as a spectator.

Fu Yu answered questions with his mouth while his hands never paused their operation.

Soon, he completed kneading a plate of walnut buns.

He added water to the steamer, brought it to a boil on high heat, put in the walnut buns, and steamed them for 6 minutes on high heat.

When time was up, he turned off the heat, waited for 30 seconds, and quickly removed the lid. A plate of fragrant and lifelike walnut buns was ready to be served.

Fu Yu finished making the golden crisp meat and walnut buns.

Over on Gao Chao’s side, he felt relieved, finally completing the golden crisp meat.

As for the walnut buns?

To hell with the walnut buns!

He struggled to wipe the batter off his hands and walked off the stage with Fu Yu.

Leaving behind a group of eager spectators waiting for the host to bring down the cooked dishes, ready to take a close look at Chef Qiu’s signature dish, wondering how it achieves a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste.

Zhao Bingbing’s eyes sparkled, unable to help but exclaim: ”Fu Yu is so strong! Was his cooking skill always this good?”

Li Linfeng was also quite shocked on the inside, but in front of the crowd, he maintained his composure and nodded, saying: ”Absolutely! Otherwise, why would I recommend him to be on stage? You must not underestimate Fu Yu; he is the winner of this year’s Gold Chef first prize!”

A little distance away.

The apprentice and assistant who had followed Qiu Jingxiu from afar, in amazement, turned and asked: ”Principal Li, is this Chef Fu... also an outstanding graduate nurtured by your school? He’s really impressive! And he looks quite young, only graduated for a couple of years, right?”

Li He nodded: ”Yes, he just graduated last year and has only been interning for a year, and now he’s smoothly transitioned to a regular position at Qianlima.”

Chen Xinwei happily said: ”Fu Yu is truly excellent. Elder Dai praised him during the Gold Chef competition, and later he smoothly became an apprentice to Lady Liu’s descendant, Liu Yunong. I thought at the time that this young man had a limitless future!”

Li He was surprised: ”He actually apprenticed under Liu Yunong?”

Chen Xinwei was taken aback: ”Oh, you didn’t know about this?”

Li He helplessly said: ”I’ve been busy organizing the school anniversary lately, so I really haven’t been keeping up.”

Beside them, Qiu Jingxiu’s apprentice was somewhat shocked: ”He only just graduated a year ago? How is this possible?”

Chen Xinwei, seeing his shocked and unbelievable expression, sighed, feeling regret: ”When I watched him flawlessly complete three sets of ducks at the cooking competition, I felt almost the same way! If only he hadn’t already chosen to apprentice under Liu Yunong back then, I truly wanted to take him as my own apprentice!”

Li He, seeing this, smiled and reassured: ”Even without Liu Yunong, he has always had someone to personally guide him before!”

Chen Xinwei suddenly became interested and asked: ”Who?”

Li He: ”Fu Yu has always been under the head chef Zhao Meng at Qianlima, and the two are like master and apprentice. Moreover, Yao Shi, you know him, right? He also thinks highly of Fu Yu and often mentions him.”

Qiu Jingxiu’s apprentice suddenly remembered something and interjected: ”Yao Shi from Qianlima? I once saw the provincial TV show where Chef Yao praised a cook in the restaurant with the surname Fu, who had created several innovative dishes for the restaurant and was very excellent. Was he talking about this Chef Fu?”

Hearing this, Chen Xinwei felt even more regret!

If he had known earlier, he would have acted sooner!

When the municipal propaganda department staff contacted him about the apprenticeship ceremony, he never took it to heart.

If only he had been more attentive, even just looked at the appearance!

He would have surely selected Fu Yu!

Ah!

Such an outstanding young talent, so gifted, and with such good culinary skills!

The little pride he had back then was nothing compared to having a genius apprentice!

If only hindsight was for sale!

...

Fu Yu had just walked off the stage when he met Director Chen coming towards him.

Director Chen cheerfully said: ”Well done! This cooking performance was a great success!”

The next second, an electronic notification suddenly sounded in Fu Yu’s ear:

[Ding! NPC Director’s task: Successfully complete the cooking performance, accomplished smoothly, rewarded: one lucky spin on the prize wheel]

Fu Yu smiled, especially sincerely said: ”It wasn’t hard, I’m very willing to do things for the school.”

Director Chen smiled so wide that his mouth couldn’t close.

See, the difference in personality, really!

Fu Yu followed the staff to the dressing room.

He quickly changed clothes, and while no one was interrupting, he eagerly opted to claim his prize.

[Ding! Congratulations on obtaining: A walnut feast cooking course. The course will begin in ten seconds, now automatically exchanging for one teaching practice class key, consuming 4 skill points. The course is divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, with each level upgrade consuming 2 skill points.]

[Ding! Countdown to class start: 3...2...1...]

Fu Yu: ”!”

Wait!

Hold on!

How can this be forcefully imposed!

He hadn’t planned on taking a class!

[Teaching practice class has started: Walnut Feast Beginner Course: First Lesson, Main Dish]

...

The aroma of the Yangbi Walnut Chicken still lingered as Fu Yu successfully exited the teaching practice classroom.

In reality, it had been only a second, but in the classroom, it felt like an eternity!

Fu Yu now had a head full of various walnut-based pastries, desserts, dishes, and even soups and snacks.

Once you enter the classroom, you become deeply immersed.

Fu Yu realized profoundly that if he couldn’t meet the cooking level standards required by the system, he might be stuck in the teaching practice classroom forever.

Restraining his impulse to complain about the system’s previous versions, Fu Yu suddenly recalled something very important.

He quickly glanced over his attribute panel, then was shocked!

Damn!

Just learning one walnut feast cooking skill deducted 10 skill points from him!

This system is now utterly shameless!

This is practically daylight robbery!

Fu Yu clutched his chest, feeling extremely heartbroken!
