The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 357: Chapter 356: More Than Just Knowing How to Cook

Director Chen was truly on the verge of losing his mind.

The leaders from the education department weren’t planning to stay long; they would leave right after watching the cooking performance.

When the leaders moved their lips, it meant those under them would have to hustle feverishly.

Since it’s a performance event, there certainly needs to be an audience.

Although the students and parents were still around, the program could not simply be a direct copy of what was planned.

Otherwise, if word got out, it wouldn’t sound good!

He had an urgent discussion with Chen Xinwei, and they decided to proceed with the performance according to the previous format.

As for the content of the performance...

The two of them were at a loss.

After all, Qiu Jingxiu’s promotional ad was still hanging on the stage!

Golden Crispy Meat and Walnut Buns definitely couldn’t be made.

Other than that, what else did Qiu Jingxiu excel at?

Chen Xinwei and Director Chen looked at each other and, in unison, said: ”Yangbi Walnut Chicken!”

...

Fu Yu quickly arrived at the stage.

Gao Chao was also called back at the same time.

Director Chen quickly and truthfully explained the situation to them.

”Although the leaders will leave after the performance, the entire process will be filmed, and then it will be broadcast on television.”

”We’ve already organized the audience, telling them it’s a thank-you performance to treat them once again to a cooking display.”

”Since the previous program was very successful and received positive feedback, we can quickly gather all the students and parents.”

”The stage is all set up, now there’s only one issue left: who among you knows how to cook Yangbi Walnut Chicken?”

Gao Chao shook his head: ”I’ve never made it.”

To be honest, he hadn’t even heard of a dish using both chicken and walnuts as ingredients before.

Director Chen was so anxious he was sweating on his nose.

At this time, Fu Yu suddenly said: ”I can give it a try. Though I’ve never made Yangbi Walnut Chicken, it should be similar to how Walnut Chicken is prepared, right?”

When previously questioned by Director Chen, Gao Chao panicked for the first time.

But now, hearing Fu Yu’s words, a sliver of hope emerged in Gao Chao’s heart.

Perhaps only he could do it?

Director Chen was overjoyed and quickly asked: ”Do you know how to make Walnut Chicken?”

More than just knowing!

I’ve practiced it 572 times in the teaching practice class, only then did I meet the system’s requirements for mastery.

You ask if I know how to make it?

Fu Yu nodded: ”Yes, although I’ve only made the regular Walnut Chicken, I’ve studied how Teacher Qiu innovatively cooks Yangbi Walnut Chicken. As long as the ingredients are similar, I think I can cook it.”

Hearing these words, Director Chen’s eyes immediately lit up!

Gao Chao, on the other hand, sighed in relief while feeling a burst of excitement.

Exactly!

It’s that feeling of安心 when someone steps up to handle things.

It was as if he had returned to the Defu Building, following his mentor.

Director Chen quickly asked: ”What ingredients do you need? I’ll have someone prepare them immediately.”

Fu Yu explained in detail: ”Yangbi walnuts, I’m not sure if Teacher Qiu’s previous supply has any left. Then there’s free-range chicken. If we don’t have Yangbi Walnut Chicken here, we should start with a free-range chicken, plus...”

Director Chen instructed someone to get everything ready according to Fu Yu’s needs.

Then, remembering something, he discussed with Fu Yu and Gao Chao: ”Here’s the thing, when I received news that the education department leaders were coming, it was already late, and the staff had removed all the cooking stations. There’s only one left now, it’s too late to set up another one.”

”I’m thinking, Chef Fu, since you know how to make Walnut Chicken, the cooking performance will be left to you. As for the assistant chef...”

At this moment, Gao Chao suddenly spoke up: ”I’ll be the assistant chef!”

Fu Yu looked at Gao Chao in surprise.

Gao Chao was full of excitement: ”Chef Fu, let me be your assistant!”

He truly wanted to watch Fu Yu cook up close.

When they were previously on stage together, he had been absolutely crushed by Fu Yu and was really curious about just how skilled Fu Yu was!

Fu Yu glanced at Gao Chao and then turned to Director Chen, saying: ”Director, let’s get ready to go on stage.”

Director Chen nodded: ”Alright, you guys go change your clothes first. I’ll get things organized here, and we’ll follow the previous process.”

Li He, hearing the news, was instantly relieved.

He quietly asked: ”Did Fu Yu say he can make Walnut Chicken?”

Director Chen nodded: ”Yes, Principal, today we’re really lucky to have Xiaofu! If it weren’t for him, I truly wouldn’t know how we would get through this!”

Li He mumbled to himself: ”Yeah... That’s right...

...

After changing clothes, Gao Chao followed Fu Yu out.

He didn’t know why, but though they hadn’t taken the stage yet, he suddenly felt a bit nervous.

It felt like he was influenced by the previous cooking performance on stage.

He seemed to have lost his confidence all of a sudden.

Seeing Fu Yu take the lead now, he felt relieved yet simultaneously had an indescribable sense of assurance.

It seemed like if Fu Yu said it was fine, then there really wouldn’t be any problem, no need to worry.

Gao Chao sighed, deciding to let things take their course. After all, the ship will right itself when it gets to the bridge.

Whatever Fu Yu instructed, he would just follow.

The students and parents were returning with the guidance of the staff.

The host took the stage and skillfully explained the upcoming cooking performance as a second round of culinary demonstration.

The audience was very cooperative.

On one hand, they knew the leaders from the education department were present, and journalists from the television station were filming. If lucky enough to be caught on camera, they could appear on TV.

On the other hand, the previous cooking performance was exceptionally impressive.

Those who had the chance to taste the Golden Crispy Meat and Walnut Buns genuinely felt they lived up to their reputation, very delicious.

Those who didn’t get to taste were becoming increasingly curious about what dish they would cook this time.

Fu Yu made some simple adjustments to the placement of the kitchen utensils and various seasonings.

When the host gave him a nod, he officially started cooking.

Yangbi Walnut Chicken is an innovative dish by Qiu Jingxiu, made from ”walnut grove free-range chicken,” which roams the mountains and trees, feeding on bugs and wild grasses under the walnut trees, and being reared on grains.

Each chicken is freshly slaughtered, cleaned, and chopped into pieces, then marinated with Tuodong supreme soy sauce to enhance the flavor and paired with walnut kernels to creatively cook the healthy ”Yangbi Walnut Chicken”!

It has a unique aroma of walnut kernels, soy sauce, and the fresh flavor of local walnut chicken. Tasty and nutritious, it is well-received.

Given the lack of these specific conditions, Fu Yu used local free-range chicken and regular walnuts.

Fu Yu cut the chicken into pieces, added a pinch of salt, 2-3 drops of soy sauce, a small spoon of starch, black pepper, and an egg white for marinating.

He cut green peppers into small cubes, minced garlic and ginger, broke walnut kernels into smaller pieces, and diced fatty pork into small chunks.
