The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 379: Chapter 378: What Are They Doing

After some analysis, Fu Yu found that designing a set of medicinal diets specifically for improving and treating acne is not a simple matter.

If it were just dietary therapy, simply using medicinal and food ingredients for culinary coupling would be manageable.

But when it comes to psychological counseling and the customer’s conscious cooperation, it’s entirely different.

This way, there are many issues to consider.

One has to consider the pairing of ingredients and medicines, the choice of taste, design several dishes for a meal setup, and how to ensure the color, aroma, and taste are all exquisite during dining to make diners eager to eat and whet their appetite.

One must also consider moderation issues; overeating is not allowed, and dietary intake must be controlled.

Just then, a knocking sound suddenly came from outside. Before Zhang Zhen could answer, a woman’s voice came: ”Chef Zhang, are you in the room?”

Zhang Zhen quickly went out to greet the visitor, smiling as he said, ”Oh, Manager Li, come in, please.”

The front hall manager, Li Xintong, who came specifically to find someone, walked in upon hearing.

Once inside, she saw Fu Yu and Zhang Xueyao sitting and standing, quietly communicating, and looked at Zhang Zhen in surprise.

What is going on here?

Before she could speak, Zhang Zhen said softly, ”Just wait a moment, we’ll be done here soon.”

Li Xintong looked at Fu Yu in amazement, only to hear him ask gently, ”Is there anything you particularly dislike eating?”

Fu Yu carefully summarized all the medicinal dishes he had cooked and encountered in the teaching practice classroom, having roughly charted a direction in mind.

However, unlike other things, cooking requires communicating with customers about dietary restrictions and understanding their taste preferences before finalizing specific dishes.

Zhang Xueyao was obviously taken aback by the question and instinctively replied, ”Anything’s fine, I’m not picky about food.”

Fu Yu did not skip this step but reconfirmed: ”Are there any vegetables or fruits that you actually dislike the taste of? And in terms of taste, what do you like the most? Sweet? Salty? Or sweet and sour?”

After hesitating, Zhang Xueyao quietly said, ”I don’t really like eggplant, I’m not fond of onions either, and also ginger, cauliflower...”

Listing them one by one, she suddenly realized she might have said too much and quickly explained, ”But it’s just a slight dislike, I usually eat these, really, I’m not a picky eater.”

Fu Yu realized this young girl was really very well-behaved, afraid of causing trouble for others, and considerate enough to evoke a touch of sympathy.

Fu Yu reached out for a pen, usually accustomed to noting things in the back kitchen.

But after a search in his pocket, he realized he wasn’t wearing his chef’s uniform.

Zhang Zhen noticed and quickly inquired, ”Chef Fu, do you need anything?”

Fu Yu said, ”I need paper and a pen.”

Zhang Zhen hurriedly retrieved the items and helped move the coffee table closer to the sofa.

Fu Yu took the paper and pen, sat on the sofa, and began noting down diligently.

Zhang Zhen stayed by the side, looking ready for anything.

Li Xintong stood by, utterly dumbfounded, unable to believe the interaction between Zhang Zhen and Fu Yu.

What remarkable ability does Fu Yu have?

Zhang Zhen was so respectful towards him?

Li Xintong was the front manager of the music restaurant, usually managing banquet hall staff arrangements and customer reception work.

She rarely interacted with the back kitchen but knew Fu Yu was a chef brought in by the owner, Yao Shi, working part-time in the store.

She had thought the part-time job was through the owner’s connections, coming to the back kitchen to learn and improve culinary skills.

After all, Fu Yu was indeed too young, and unlike other positions, one cannot quickly establish oneself in the chef industry solely by talent.

But then she gradually heard that Fu Yu innovated dishes for the store and earned a bonus, and subsequently developed a new eight-plate and eight-bowl banquet.

More recently, he created a set of medicinally therapeutic banquet, causing a stir in the store due to the high pricing of 200,000 per course.

Li Xintong thus changed her dismissive attitude towards Fu Yu, feeling this person was undoubtedly a deep and hidden talent.

So presently, Zhang Zhen’s unusual actions piqued Li Xintong’s curiosity.

What is Fu Yu preparing to do?

Fu Yu immersed himself in recording Zhang Xueyao’s dietary preferences on paper.

He then listed various corresponding medicinal dishes below one by one.

Li Xintong couldn’t help but lean in and peek over.

They say one’s handwriting reflects one’s character.

Fu Yu is good-looking, and his writing is not bad either. Although not particularly styled, it was neat and clearly legible with large characters.

Standing by, Li Xintong could clearly see a series of dish names written on the paper.

Loquat Leaf Chrysanthemum Porridge?

Fruit and Vegetable Mung Bean Drink?

What’s this?

Innovative porridge and drinks?

No, it should be medicinal dishes, right?

But this Loquat Leaf Chrysanthemum Porridge, as the name suggests, should be porridge made from loquat leaves and chrysanthemum.

And this Fruit and Vegetable Mung Bean Drink might be a soup brewed from bitter melon, cucumber, apple, and the like with mung beans?

It sounds reasonable; they’re all things that clear heat and detoxify.

But this has a big difference from the expensive pricing of medicinal dishes, doesn’t it?

Zhang Zhen then came over to get a closer look, furrowed slightly.

These dishes really weren’t heard of before...not the usual items on restaurant menus.

Dried Shrimp Cabbage?

Purslane with Soybean Sprouts?

Can these really be cooked together?

Vinegar Ginger Papaya?

How would that taste?

After looking for a while, Zhang Zhen suddenly realized something and was enlightened!

Fu Yu is not a professional dermatologist.

It’s just that...

He is a chef but knows a bit about medicinal diets; how could he master such highly professional skin treatments?

Thinking of this, Zhang Zhen’s mind, previously overrun with hope, gradually became clear.

After all, medicinal diets are about eating, not pure medicine. Even doctors in hospitals can’t instantly cure skin diseases; expecting Fu Yu to achieve that through dietary therapy?

I was a bit too far-fetched...

Fu Yu wrote down a long list of dishes and then trimmed and added accordingly.

After a long time, he finally finalized the menu for the first course of the medicinal diet.

Fu Yu tentatively decided on four dishes, three porridges, three soups, one drink, one tea, and one paste.

Drinks and teas could be prepared on his end for Zhang Xueyao to take home and drink as water every day.

The medicinal paste could also be stewed and stored chilled.

This way, it would facilitate Zhang Xueyao’s long-term use to promote efficacy and would not disrupt her daily routine.

With the addition of a weekly dietary therapy, combined with daily tea consumption, Fu Yu felt the results would definitely be better.

Lastly, he cross-referenced the complete medicinal meal menu with a comprehensive list of food incompatibilities.

Once confirmed with no errors, after finalizing all dish selections, Fu Yu let out a heartfelt sigh of relief.
