Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Dad—you’ve said this countless times!” Ning Chenyang crossed his arms and looked at him, twisting his head. ”Am I really that much trouble?”

”Yes.” Qin Jian looked down at the little guy with an educating tone, ”You keep causing me trouble every day! How many times has the kindergarten teacher called me this month?”

Every time he finished a meeting, he’d get a call—it was either about fighting with other kids or teasing the teacher.

What made him even more exasperated was that he actually took the car out for a drive!

”Alright, stop scolding him. What boy isn’t a bit naughty?” An Hao interjected.

”He almost got himself kidnapped.” Qin Jian still had lingering fear when mentioning this.

”No way! I actually spotted the old man’s plot long ago.”

”What use is spotting it? Can you rescue the other kids?” Qin Jian raised an eyebrow at the little guy talking back to him.

”I will. Just wait till I grow up a bit more, then I’ll be able to protect my friends.” Ning Chenyang declared confidently.

”Anyway, just stay out of trouble.” Qin Jian gave one last warning, ”If you cause any more trouble, see how I’ll deal with you.”

”Hmph.” Ning Chenyang stiffened his neck and walked out, pulling the door behind him.

”Don’t always scold him, it’s just a boy’s nature, being mischievous and combative! Stop threatening to deal with him. I do worry about him, you know.” An Hao said to Qin Jian.

”These two kids have great potential. Good iron must be forged well.”

”They are still children, you’ve got to pamper them a bit.”

”Girls get pampered! Boys shouldn’t be spoiled! Why didn’t you give me a daughter?”

”I’m too lazy to argue with you!” An Hao glared at him and grabbed her bag to head out.

”No, no, no! I was just saying.” Qin Jian quickly chased after her.

Ji Chuan and Yan Huan arrived first, and Feng Yuzhi happily came to greet them.

”Ji Chuan’s here! Come, sit down!”

”Dad, Mom! All these gifts are from Ji Chuan, he practically wanted to empty out the mall.” Yan Huan put down a bunch of bags she was carrying, ”Really wore me out.”

”Ji Chuan! Just come over; no need to bring so much stuff in the future.” Yan Luquan cheerfully patted Ji Chuan’s shoulder, ”As long as you’re good to Yan Huan, we’re very happy.”

”This is just a small token. I’m here today to ask Uncle and Aunt for a precious treasure.” Ji Chuan said with a smile.

”Treasure?” Feng Yuzhi was a bit stunned but soon understood, ”You mean Yan Huan?”

”Yes. Yan Huan finally agreed to be with me! I’m here to seek your approval.” Ji Chuan took the opportunity to make his intentions clear.

”What’s the rush!” Yan Huan said with a slightly embarrassed expression, ”I only agreed to be your girlfriend, not to marry you yet.”

”It’s only a matter of time. I’m just asking the elders in advance.” Ji Chuan laughed.

”We have no objections.” Feng Yuzhi was more than eager to see this happen, ”You know Huanhuan’s situation. Her health doesn’t allow her to leave Nancheng...”

”I understand. This time when Yan Huan went to Jiangning, my parents liked her a lot and know her situation. So, they said if Yan Huan can’t move to Jiangning in the future, they are willing to come to Nancheng and live with us.” Ji Chuan’s words dispelled all concerns at once.
