Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

This request made Cheng Yue hesitate.

He was silent, contemplating.

”How about it? Just one day!” Shen Qiqi looked at him pitifully, her eyes full of pleading, ”Cheng Yue, just one day, okay? I’ve wanted to be your lover all my life. If you’ve decided not to be with me, at least give me one day to experience this feeling, so that I can remember it for a lifetime.”

In the future, she would at least have something to remember and cherish.

”Shen Qiqi, what kind of trick are you playing?” Cheng Yue squinted at her.

”No tricks. Cheng Yue, you should know best what kind of person I, Shen Qiqi, am. Even if I could play tricks on everyone, I would never play tricks on you!”

”Have you really decided to give up?” After pestering him for so many years, Shen Qiqi suddenly saying she wanted to give up was something he found hard to believe.

Shen Qiqi’s eyes welled up with tears: ”Do I have a choice?”

Cheng Yue was silent for a few seconds, then agreed: ”Alright! I agree. One day, twenty-four hours. But, being a couple for a day does not include kissing or that other thing.”

Shen Qiqi blushed: ”What are you thinking? Even if you were willing to do that, I wouldn’t! What I want is for you to look at me like you look at a lover, not always as a sister.”

”That, I can do.” Cheng Yue readily agreed.

”That’s great.” Shen Qiqi jumped for joy, like a child who had found a treasure, ”You go downstairs and wait for me! I’ll change my clothes and come down.”

”The date starts now?”

”Yes! Starting now.” Shen Qiqi couldn’t wait any longer, she was eager to start this incredibly ”special” day for her.

”Okay.” Cheng Yue looked down at the time and softly said, ”It’s nine in the morning now. From now until nine tomorrow morning!”

”Uh-huh.” Shen Qiqi nodded repeatedly, pushing Cheng Yue to the door, ”You go downstairs and wait for me! I’ll be right there!”

Cheng Yue nodded in agreement.

Shen Qiqi closed the door, tears slowly trickling down her cheeks.

She loved Cheng Yue so much, but she always found herself unable to have him.

Heaven must be blind, why couldn’t her Cheng Yue look at her more?

Shen Qiqi let out a deep sigh, wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes, and sat in front of the dressing mirror, trying her best to give herself a big smile: ”Just a day! Qiqi, cherish it! Twenty hours, and Cheng Yue is all yours!”

Cheng Yue waited downstairs for Shen Qiqi, listlessly flipping through a military magazine in his hands.

Half an hour had passed, why wasn’t she down yet?

Shen’s father came back to change his clothes before heading to the army for inspection, and saw Cheng Yue sitting at home, his face inevitably darkened: ”I heard from the Commander you’re going back to Nancheng today? Are you here to say goodbye to Qiqi?”

”Yes. I do intend to head back to Nancheng. However, today I’m not here to say goodbye to Qiqi, I and Qiqi...”

”Dad!” Before Cheng Yue could finish his sentence, Shen Qiqi appeared at the top of the stairs. She was wearing a white pleated skirt, red sandals on her feet, her long hair draped over her shoulders, looking very sweet and adorable.

She had put on makeup deliberately, looking delicate, with a touch of coquettish charm in her brows, very captivating.
