Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Your tears are so warm. You cried for me...” Shen Qiqi used all her strength to open her eyes slightly, ”Brother Cheng Yue, if there is a next life, will you marry me? I really... really... love... you...”

”There’s no need to wait for the next life! In this life, I will marry you! Haven’t you always wanted me to marry you? In this life, I will go and marry you, I want no one else!” Cheng Yue shouted loudly into her ear, fearing she might die.

Emergency room of the hospital.

An emergency surgery was being urgently conducted.

In the corridor outside, Shen’s mother clung to Shen’s father, crying uncontrollably: ”How did this happen? She was fine when she left this morning, and in the blink of an eye, we received a critical condition notice.”

”Don’t cry, our Qiqi will be alright!” Shen’s father, with eyes reddened, choked as he comforted his wife.

At this moment, not far away.

Cheng Nanfang was sternly questioning Cheng Yue about the accident.

”What happened? How did Qiqi get injured?”

”She was hurt because of me.” Cheng Yue stared blankly ahead, ”Blame me.”

”What did your Uncle Shen tell you? He told you to take good care of Qiqi, and this is how you care for her?” Cheng Nanfang held back his anger, seeing his son in this state, he almost wanted to use his belt to give him a beating.

”That car was meant to hit me.” The scene just now was still vivid in his mind, Cheng Yue painfully squatted on the ground and covered his eyes, ”I never thought, at such a moment, she would push me away.”

”Your Uncle Shen only has one daughter, if something were to happen to Qiqi, how would they go on living?”

”Old Cheng, don’t just scold the boy. Who could have predicted this would happen? This isn’t what Yuyu wanted to see!” Qi Siyuan couldn’t bear to listen any longer and interrupted.

”How am I going to face your Uncle Shen in the future?” Cheng Nanfang sighed in irritation, ”I dare not think about the days to come.”

While they were speaking, the door of the operating room opened, and the chief surgeon came out.

All the waiting people rushed over.

”How is she? How is Qiqi?” Shen’s father asked excitedly.

”Her life is saved. The leg injury is quite severe; she may never be able to stand again!” The doctor confirmed truthfully.

”Alright, alright! This is good! It’s much better than losing her life!” Tears welled up in Shen’s father’s eyes as he spoke repeatedly.

”Old Shen, I’m so sorry!” Cheng Nanfang said with heartfelt remorse, ”Qiqi ended up like this because of Cheng Yue...”

”Commander, don’t say anything.” Shen’s father quickly stopped Cheng Nanfang, ”Whatever happened was Qiqi’s choice. This is Qiqi’s fate. Don’t make it hard on the child...”

”My daughter...” Shen’s mother pounded her chest, suppressing all her dissatisfaction towards Cheng Yue.

After all, it was her daughter chasing after someone else’s son.

Even if the other party was not at fault, she was not comfortable in her heart.

”Alright! Stop crying, at least her life is saved! Even if she never stands again, it’s better than losing her life.”

”But how will she live the second half of her life?”

”At worst, we’ll take care of her for the rest of our lives!”

Cheng Yue watched the tear-streaked family of Uncle Shen, gritted his teeth for a long time, and finally made a decision in his heart.

...............

After passing the critical period, Shen Qiqi opened her eyes.

The room was illuminated with soft orange light, appearing tranquil and warm.

Cheng Yue, who had been keeping watch over her, seemed too tired, and had fallen asleep at her side, eyes closed.
