Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

The winter sky darkens early.

It is very cold in the mountains, so cold that your upper and lower teeth chatter against each other.

Outside, three or four men are keeping watch, including the man who abducted Yan Huan, who, years later, reappeared as this scar-faced old man.

They had built a fire and were roasting buns around it, discussing the future of Yan Huan.

”We need to find a buyer for that older girl as soon as possible tomorrow. We can’t delay any longer!”

”I’m afraid it won’t work right now; this girl has already caused us trouble. Didn’t the police go to the village to investigate? We were lucky to escape quickly, or we all would be caught.”

”But we can’t keep feeding them, can we? Especially that one who’s neither young nor old, she’s hard to deal with! Brother Liu, you didn’t plan well when you took this child.”

”If we can’t sell this little girl, I’ll send her to my brother. I’ll have him raise her for a few years, and when she’s older, she can marry his foolish son! Isn’t this a good plan?”

”Brother Liu, your vision is quite long-term.”

”Nonsense! If I didn’t think long-term, you all would have been caught already. This haul was pretty big, and I bet the police are hunting us down everywhere. Once we’re done with this, we’ll each go our separate ways! Let’s avoid contacting each other for the next two or three years. That way, everyone stays safe!”

”Alright! We’re following you to make money! We’ll listen to you!”

Yan Huan was terrified after hearing this. She didn’t want to grow up and marry some foolish boy.

”Did you hear? For now, you shouldn’t be in danger. But if you don’t escape, you’ll have to marry a foolish boy in the future! Remember, you must run away!”

”Okay!” Yan Huan clenched her little fists.

She secretly decided that as soon as her sister ran, she would find a chance to escape too.

It was not easy to run away in the mountains. If she waited until they were on the road, it wouldn’t be too late to escape. Her sister also said she wouldn’t be in danger for a while.

The commotion outside quieted down, and gradually the sounds of the traffickers’ snores filled the air.

This is the perfect time to escape.

The girl quietly opened the door and tiptoed out.

She didn’t dare to stop as she ran, feeling like the wind beneath her feet, desperately sprinting up the mountain.

But her luck was just that poor.

The traffickers needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and discovered the guard asleep. They hurriedly opened the temple door to check inside.

They found Yan Huan sleeping on the ground.

Next to Yan Huan was a rope cut with fragments of a broken bowl, and the person who had been tied up had escaped!

”Stop sleeping! Wake up! The bigger one escaped again! Go after her!”

In an instant, the traffickers were up, leaving one behind to watch Yan Huan, while the others pursued the older girl.

Yan Huan was extremely anxious and worried for her sister.

Unfortunately, the girl was caught and brought back again.

She was someone whose fate had already sentenced her to doom!

She was almost out of the mountains, but then she sprained her ankle, slowing her down considerably. And there was only one road from the mountains to the village.

She had to take that one road.

Soon, she was caught again and brought back.

However, this time, Yan Huan couldn’t see her sister enter again. Instead, she heard her sister’s cries and shouts outside the temple.
