Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Why aren’t you wearing pants? It’s easier to walk and sit down to rest,” Cheng Yue glanced sideways at Shen Qiqi’s slender calves. He had never noticed before that this little girl really had grown up.

If she hadn’t dressed like this today, he would not have realized it.

His perception of her always stayed in the past, remembering the little girl who used to follow him around crying.

As Shen Qiqi walked, she fiddled with her straw and said slowly, ”I always had to run around with you back then, and it was inconvenient to wear skirts. So, I just kept wearing skirts. Eventually, I got used to it! But today’s different, I want you to remember me at my most beautiful. Even if we become strangers in the future...”

Cheng Yue fell silent, never realizing that Shen Qiqi didn’t wear skirts for that reason.

”We won’t be strangers.” Even if not lovers, they could be like siblings, Cheng Yue silently told himself.

”I hope so,” Shen Qiqi smiled bitterly, ”Let’s go, how about watching a movie? There’s a romance film showing today.”

”Okay,” Cheng Yue agreed.

”I also want to eat sunflower seeds and popcorn!”

”Sure!”

”And we need two bottles of soda!”

”As you wish!”

”Um...” Shen Qiqi raised her head, her eyes darting around, ”How about you peel the sunflower seeds for me and feed them to me? Don’t refuse, it’s what couples do.”

”As you wish. Everything you want!” Cheng Yue’s lips curved into a smile, ”You sure know how to act spoilt!”

As he finished speaking, tears welled up in Shen Qiqi’s eyes.

”What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Cheng Yue thought it was something he said, apologizing repeatedly, ”I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Don’t cry, if you don’t like what I said, I won’t say it.”

The more he said this, the more fiercely Shen Qiqi cried.

”I fear nothing more than a girl crying,” Cheng Yue said helplessly, watching Shen Qiqi’s face full of tears, makeup running. He quickly took out a handkerchief to gently wipe her tears, ”I didn’t want to upset you today. But it seems I’ve made you cry. If there’s something I said that you didn’t like, just tell me! I won’t say it in the future.”

”No, you didn’t make me angry,” Shen Qiqi looked at him through her tears, ”You’re so good to me! Why do you always indulge me? Even though I said to be a couple for a day, you have the right to refuse. Even couples can argue, it’s not prohibited!”

Only then did Cheng Yue realize that Shen Qiqi cried over this matter.

”You’re too easily moved. Besides, I didn’t do much.”

”But I’m still touched. This is already something incredibly precious to me,” Shen Qiqi choked up.

Watching her tears, at that moment, Cheng Yue felt his heart being fiercely tugged.

Yes, his heart ached for this silly girl.

”Stop crying, I don’t want people to see me walking around with a panda,” Cheng Yue advised, seeing Shen Qiqi’s tear-streaked face.

”You’re so mean!” Shen Qiqi broke into laughter in an instant, ”You’re actually calling me a panda.”

”Alright, I won’t laugh at you. But, you shouldn’t cry anymore, okay?”

”Alright!”

”Come on! I’ll take you to the movie,” Cheng Yue said.
