Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Why don’t you just come clean? Maybe, I might consider changing today’s plan!” Meng Qingmei said.

Ji Chuan chuckled, ”Indeed, the older, the wiser! Since things have come to this, I won’t hide it anymore. Actually, I didn’t plan on hiding anything. Yan Huan, she is the woman I love! In the future, I intend to marry her as my wife! She’ll be your future daughter-in-law!”

”Why didn’t you say so earlier? We’ve been putting on an act for half the day.” Meng Qingmei had seen the unusual relationship between the two at first glance.

Besides, Ji Chuan is not someone who settles for less.

If she’s not someone he really likes, he wouldn’t bring her home.

”You think I wanted to act?!” Ji Chuan sighed deeply, ”But I had no choice. I’m trying to win over the heart of your future daughter-in-law, you know?”

”What do you mean by that?”

Ji Chuan shrugged, ”The mountain hasn’t been conquered yet.”

”She doesn’t want to?” Meng Qingmei hadn’t thought that her exceptional son would encounter such a challenging hurdle, ”Why doesn’t she want to? What’s this girl doing? You haven’t introduced her to me properly.”

”She’s a soldier. I just liked her the moment I saw her.” Ji Chuan scratched his head, feeling a bit agitated, ”It’s been several years, and only this year did I have a chance to get into her line of sight. I’ve been pursuing her, but she’s hesitating. If she doesn’t like me, she seems to like me just a little bit.”

”This girl likes you.” Meng Qingmei said confidently.

”Really?” Ji Chuan was overjoyed, ”Why are you so sure?”

”Because I’ve been through it.” The look and actions of someone in love are different; perhaps she’s restraining herself, but those with keen eyes will notice.

”Then her current state is that she doesn’t want to accept me.” Ji Chuan was troubled.

He doesn’t want to pressure Yan Huan.

But waiting for Yan Huan to take that step is very difficult.

The reason for her hesitation is really Cheng Yue.

The proud and somewhat playful Cheng Yue is a mountain she finds hard to surmount.

”Don’t worry. I’ll help you, help Yan Huan recognize her own heart.” Meng Qingmei already had a plan in mind.

”Mom, what are you going to do?”

Seeing her son’s nervous look, Meng Qingmei couldn’t help but laugh, ”You’ll see I’m not wrong. If I hadn’t used the matchmaking to pressure you earlier, you wouldn’t have told the truth. Rest assured, mom just wants to give you a push! Son, you’re not wrong in not wanting to force her to make a decision. But sometimes, if you don’t give the other party a little push, you won’t see how much they care.”

”You’re not going to...”

”That’s right. Let me give it a try. This is a win-win situation. I’ll explain things clearly on Xia Lin’s side, today’s meeting is set and can’t be canceled. If you want to see Yan Huan’s reaction, don’t stop me.” Meng Qingmei had it all figured out.

”Alright.” Ji Chuan was also looking forward to the moment Yan Huan opens her heart and throws herself into his embrace, ”By the way, are you satisfied with your daughter-in-law?”

”As long as my son has set his eyes on her, I’m satisfied! I trust your taste!” Meng Qingmei said.

”Okay then! Thanks, Mom. But don’t be too harsh!” Ji Chuan worried about a negative effect.

”Don’t worry! Look at how worried you are.”

The sound of washing and chopping vegetables came from the kitchen, where Ji Shuanglin’s elderly couple was busy preparing lunch.

Yan Huan was in the living room absentmindedly flipping through Ji Chuan’s childhood photo album, lost in thought. She admitted that this upcoming Xia Lin teacher brought her some troubles.
