Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

100: Chapter 100: Extorting a sum of money, within three days.”Now it’s time to talk about compensation.”

Bai Xuan wanted to extort a fortune; he couldn’t just come for nothing.

Doing nothing would make the beast hearts unstable. Furthermore, the war with the Bear Country had killed many ferocious beasts. To recover their vitality, resources were essential. Bai Xuan wouldn’t pay for these resources himself, so it had to be the Bear Country and the Dragon Country. The Bear Country had already paid, so next was the Dragon Country.

”Compensation? Your Excellency Eagle King, our Dragon Country has not crossed the border to harm any ferocious beasts. How can you speak of compensation?” General Wang Zhuo took a deep breath and said, forcing himself to be brave.

Spirit stones and heavenly treasures were already expensive. Besides, they hadn’t fired a single shot or cannon at the beasts, so what compensation was there to talk about? If they gave this compensation, they would inevitably be nailed to the pillar of shame. This was something they were unwilling to see.

”Exactly, why should we pay you?” Shi Xiaoyue was immediately unhappy. This was simply a great humiliation. But if she had seen the situation with the Bear Country, she would know that Bai Xuan was already giving them face.

After all, the Bear Country had paid with both land and resources.

Bai Xuan’s eyes turned cold, and an invisible pressure of a Beast King enveloped them: ”Do you take me for a fool? Do you think I don’t know what you’ve done? Why was Major General Long Shaoyang in the Bear Country’s camp, and why did you assemble a large number of Soldiers and weapons to pressure the ferocious beasts on the border? I have already given you enough face; do not be ungrateful.”

If he hadn’t advanced to the Fifth Rank, all the ferocious beasts in the Far East Region would have long been slaughtered or enslaved. Now, they dared to turn around and ask why they should pay?

”Don’t speak.” General Wang Zhuo stopped Shi Xiaoyue from continuing. Looking at the behemoth in front of him, he smiled bitterly: ”What kind of compensation do you want?”

Little patience leads to great chaos. Now was not the time to fall out with Bai Xuan. There would be plenty of time in the future to wash away this shame. Before that, they had to preserve their strength and wait for an opportunity.

The ferocious beasts behind Bai Xuan stared at them fiercely, baring their fangs, looking as if they would pounce and tear them apart the moment Bai Xuan gave the order.

”Brother Bai, don’t waste your breath on them. Let’s just start fighting. We beasts are not afraid of them!” Hu Da glared at General Wang Zhuo, eager to start the war.

”Calm down.” Bai Xuan responded coldly.

Hearing this, Hu Da could only retreat and say nothing more.

”One price: thirty thousand Low-Grade Spirit Stones, three thousand Mid-Grade Spirit Stones, and three hundred high-grade spirit stones. If you don’t agree, I don’t mind breaking into the city and taking them myself.”

Bai Xuan’s tone was firm, leaving no room for negotiation.

”This is simply a lion’s opening its mouth; we cannot agree to this!” Shi Xiaoyue gritted her teeth in anger.

”Shut up.” This time, General Wang Zhuo was not as good-tempered as before and scolded her.

Wasn’t it chaotic enough already? If a real fight broke out, the best result would be them grabbing the resources and destroying the city walls and border, leaving the Dragon Country severely injured and the losses outweighing the gains.

And the worst result would be mutual destruction, leaving nothing behind. A gentleman’s revenge is not too late in ten years; only by staying calm can one go further.

”But...” Shi Xiaoyue wanted to say something else, but a Fourth Rank warrior next to her covered her mouth: ”My dear lady, say less. Isn’t this already chaotic enough?”

”Fine, I agree.” General Wang Zhuo sighed and finally chose to agree.

He knew what had happened in the Bear Country—fifty thousand Low-Grade Spirit Stones and so on. This was not a small amount. Coupled with the fact that the war had cost the Bear Country a lot of resources, financial, material, and human, causing them to fall from the top three countries to the bottom, General Wang Zhuo didn’t want the same thing to happen to the Dragon Country.

”Quite straightforward. Deliver the resources here within three days. Hu Da, you are responsible for transporting the resources to my side.”

Seeing General Wang Zhuo being so straightforward, Bai Xuan was satisfied. He nodded slightly, then turned to let Hu Da be responsible for transporting the resources to the central area, where he would distribute them.

”As you command.” Hu Da agreed without hesitation. Although this result was somewhat reluctant, it was acceptable.

After that, Bai Xuan talked with General Wang Zhuo for a few moments, then General Wang Zhuo had his people return to the city and close the steel gates.

”Everyone, disperse.” Bai Xuan looked at the dense crowd of ferocious beasts behind him and dismissed them.

Then he said to Brother Hei, Hu Da, and Mother Tiger: ”Brother Hei, Hu Da, Mother Tiger, let’s go somewhere else to talk.”

Just like that, Brother Hei led Bai Xuan and the others to a place suitable for conversation.

On the grass, Hu Da, Mother Tiger, Bai Xuan, and Brother Hei sat on the ground.

Bai Xuan explained the situation, his thoughts, and his arrangements to them.

He explained why he didn’t wipe out the Bear and Dragon countries to avoid gossip in the future.

Then came the arrangements. Now that the territory had expanded, ferocious beast groups had to migrate there to fully control the territory. For this reason, Bai Xuan planned to let Brother Hei and Tiger Cub go to the newly acquired territory in the west, and then go to the second and third battle lines to select some groups to arrange there, maximizing the use of resources.

Brother Hei agreed without hesitation. It had a good relationship with Tiger Cub, and it would be good to sit in the same territory. Tomorrow, it would take Tiger Cub’s forces and its own forces to migrate to the western region.

In this way, the resources for Hu Da and Mother Tiger at the first battle line would also increase, allowing them to grow faster.

”Hu Da, after three days, when the humans deliver the resources, you and Mother Tiger take three thousand Low-Grade Spirit Stones and three hundred Mid-Grade Spirit Stones each. How you distribute them is up to you.”

”Brother Hei, the resources for you and Tiger Cub are the same. Take your share from the resources sent by the Bear Country, and then send the rest to me.”

Bai Xuan distributed the resources: three thousand Low-Grade Spirit Stones and three thousand Mid-Grade Spirit Stones for each, enough for them to recover their vitality. Then he allocated the same resources to Xiong Yan, while other groups only got one-third of what Xiong Yan and the others received. Finally, everything else belonged to Bai Xuan.

”Now is the time to improve your strength, so don’t refuse.” Bai Xuan said first, seeing that they wanted to refuse.

”Since that’s the case, then thank you, Little Bai.” Mother Tiger hesitated for a moment, then thanked him.

”Thank you, Brother Bai.” Hu Da smiled and thanked him.

”In that case, Little Bai, I will respectfully accept.” Brother Hei said the same.

After chatting with them for a while, Bai Xuan flapped his wings and flew away.
