Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

91: Chapter 91: A month later, a border standoff.Bear Country High Command.

A Bear Country Officer stepped forward to report the situation:

”Report, General of the Bear Country, there are no longer any signs of life in the central zone.”

”Hmph, no matter how powerful the fierce beast is, it still couldn’t withstand nuclear weapons.”

The General of the Bear Country sneered; killing Bai Xuan made him very happy.

The mission was completed perfectly, and he would be remembered in history.

This battle would be widely publicized across the globe, and his name, the General of the Bear Country, would go down in history, earning eternal respect and becoming an example to follow.

One after another, the Bear Country Officers stepped forward to congratulate and cheer, celebrating the complete victory of the battle.

Next would be to defeat those fierce beast factions one by one; perhaps the Bear Country could return to its peak, regain its glory, and set its sights not just on Blue Star, but on the vast universe.

...

Far East Region, central zone.

Bai Xuan was hiding underground, covered in burns, but they were not fatal.

Bai Xuan could rely on the system to devour those nuclear materials, causing no harm to himself, while simultaneously concealing his aura; he hoped this would deceive everyone, making them believe he was dead so they would lower their guard.

Bai Xuan could also devote himself entirely to his advancement; the fifth rank was a major threshold, and during the advancement, he would constantly undergo metamorphosis, with his flesh and bones being recast, becoming increasingly powerful.

Bai Xuan slowly closed his eyes, quietly waiting for the advancement to end.

...

One month later.

The nuclear radiation in the central zone had not diminished in the slightest, making it unsuitable for fierce beasts to inhabit.

It had long since become a restricted zone; neither humans nor fierce beasts had entered.

Humans could enter while wearing protective suits, but the paths leading to the central zone were rampant with fierce beasts, both on land and in the sky; precisely because of this, they had not entered the nuclear radiation zone.

However, they did not lower their guard because of this; every so often, they would send reconnaissance aircraft into the Far East Region to scout the situation in the central zone. Every time it was the same—no signs of life were detected, and they would return the way they came.

On the border between the Bear Country and the Dragon Country, the situation was tense, with fierce beasts eyeing them covetously, looking as if they could start a fight at any moment. More weapons and Soldiers were being deployed to the border, maintaining constant vigilance, ready to welcome the arrival of a great war at any time.

The fierce beasts were the same; more and more gathered at the border to avoid being caught off guard, and the current fierce beasts were more united than before.

Their strength was also soaring, doing everything possible to improve their overall power.

The first line of the southern border was guarded by Hu Da, Hu Zi, Mother Tiger, and Xiao Hei.

In the forest, on a vast meadow, Hu Zi, Hu Da, and Xiao Hei gathered together to discuss important matters.

Xiao Hei informed Hu Zi and Hu Da about the situation it had scouted during this period:

”During this time, the humans have sent more and more armies, and there are many spirit beasts as well; I suspect that the time for the great war is not far off.”

In order to obtain this information, Xiao Hei’s clan had paid a heavy price; entering the city walls was a major difficulty. Once inside and discovered, they would face terrifying and precise firepower, resulting in countless casualties.

Afterward, they had to face various spirit beasts capable of Flight, making the mission even more difficult, and very few managed to survive and return.

Hu Da nodded slightly: ”It is much as we suspected. By the way, how is the situation in other places?”

Xiao Hei told them the news it had gathered from various regions during this time:

”At the Bear Country border, the Deer King and other western fierce beasts have already gathered and are standing by in battle array. The Golden Eagle King has also joined them, guarding the Bear Country border and standing in a standoff with the Bear Country; the situation is quite tense, looking as if a fight could break out at any moment.”

”As for the Savage Bear Clan that was pushed to the east, they have entered the weakest third battle line in the south, reached an agreement with the Rat King, and are in a standoff with the Dragon Country. The second battle line is guarded by the Black Bear clan, so there shouldn’t be too many problems there.”

During this time, Hu Zi had been observing the situation at the first battle line on the Dragon Country border; it was heavily guarded and standing by in battle array, and it also had to deal with some restless fierce beasts, which was quite tiring:

”I wonder how Brother Bai is doing.”

Xiao Hei shook its head gently: ”Fierce beasts cannot enter that area for the time being, so let’s wait and see. An auspicious beast has its own destiny; for now, we can only believe that Bai Xuan is still alive.”

If Bai Xuan were dead, the Far East Region would very likely be re-divided, with various beast kings emerging. It would be fine if they could coexist peacefully, each guarding their own area and surviving within their own territory, but the fear is that some might be restless, inciting internal strife to fight for other territories and weakening the strength of the Far East Region.

It is better to have a capable and powerful fierce beast to hold the fort.

”I hope so.” Hu Da nodded slightly.

Although that is what they said, surviving such a massive explosion would be very difficult.

For now, they can only believe that Bai Xuan is still alive; if there is still no movement, they will have to accept the reality.

Actually, they all know in their hearts that the probability of survival is infinitesimal.

...

Various thermal weapons were mounted on the Dragon Country border wall, along with some strange gun and artillery-type weapons, all guarded by Soldiers.

Behind the wall, a large number of Soldiers were training, sparring, and testing their speed, strength, and defense, all under the guidance of instructors. There were thermal weapons and cold weapons of all kinds, allowing them to choose what suited them best; now, weapons like swords, sabers, spears, axes, and halberds were all quite formidable.

This was also something that had regained its advantage after the resurgence of spiritual energy.

Some were even sparring with spirit beasts, or competing in strength, speed, and so on.

There were more and more martial artists, and spiritual artifacts, cultivation techniques, and medicinal pills were also keeping up.

Shi Xiaoyue was practicing swordsmanship; her movement was light and agile, her swordsmanship unpredictable, and she used her leg techniques in conjunction with her sword skills, hacking several dummies made of refined steel into pieces.

After finishing her practice, Shi Xiaoyue took out a towel to wipe the sweat from her face; the three-foot long sword she used was a weapon as ordinary as could be.

This was to train her control over the use of spiritual energy, precisely covering the blade with spiritual energy to achieve maximum damage with minimum energy.

She was also working hard to train her control of force, movement, and insight.

”Fu Fu, you are slacking off again.”

Seeing that Fu Fu was still eating bamboo and had no intention of exercising, Shi Xiaoyue walked up and said.
