Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

97: Chapter 97 No Room for Negotiation, Crisis in the Bear Kingdom.”No room for negotiation.” Bai Xuan smiled slyly.

Immediately following this, he attacked without warning, stepping toward Mikhailovsky with one foot.

It was as simple as stepping on an ant; Mikhailovsky, caught completely off guard, took the full force of the blow.

His entire body was driven into the ground, and the cold air invaded his body.

Seeing this scene, those Soldiers launched an attack, and a dense barrage of bullets and artillery shells rained down on Bai Xuan.

Bai Xuan flapped his wings, and a massive tornado mixed with ice swept up all the incoming shells, advancing at high speed; wherever it passed, everything was destroyed beyond recognition, and countless Soldiers and tanks were swept into it, shredded to pieces in a gruesome death.

At the same time, the tornado grew more intense, continuously expanding in size and range of attack.

Bai Xuan flapped his wings and delivered a sweeping leg strike; a hundred-zhang-long Ice Flying Blade swept across the army, while dense clusters of ice spikes condensed in the void, following closely behind to attack the Soldiers and mechanical weapons.

Fighter jets and helicopters in the air launched fierce attacks on Bai Xuan, but the strikes hit him squarely without causing any real damage.

[Extreme Cold Breath.] Bai Xuan unleashed his breath again; a terrifying beam of energy swept across the many fighter jets in the air, causing a continuous stream of them to crash and explode into fragments; in front of Bai Xuan, these war machines were like toys, possessing no ability to resist whatsoever.

Under Bai Xuan’s fierce offensive, the massive army was annihilated in less than twenty-five minutes.

Suddenly, scorching lava erupted from the ground, and flames shot straight into the sky as a figure flew out from underground—it was none other than Mikhailovsky.

”Beast, I will kill you!” Upon seeing the scene before him, Mikhailovsky’s eyes were bloodshot, and he was furious to the extreme.

A black dragon helmet and armor covered him, sealing Mikhailovsky tightly; the armor displayed flame patterns, and blue flames erupted from the thrusters behind him, with charging at its maximum as he released his full combat power.

This caused Mikhailovsky’s strength to climb steadily, reaching a level comparable to the Fourth Order, Ninth Stage; the long blade in his hand did the same, with energy surging out and flame patterns covering the blade, ready to strike like a ferocious beast.

This was an effect that could only be achieved with the addition of the long blade.

The kick Bai Xuan had dealt earlier caused significant damage to Mikhailovsky, but it was not fatal.

Bai Xuan was also aware that Mikhailovsky had not died, but he did not deliver a finishing blow, choosing instead to wait for him to release his full strength.

He wanted to see how powerful this suit of armor and weapon could be, and now it seemed truly shocking.

From the Fourth Order, First Stage, his combat power had climbed to the Fourth Order, Ninth Stage; Bai Xuan spoke with great interest:

”You shouldn’t be able to maintain this form for long.”

At the cost of his life and with such high-load consumption, Mikhailovsky could not hold on for long.

”It is enough to kill you.” After saying this, Mikhailovsky kicked off, launching himself like a flash of light toward Bai Xuan.

When he was less than a hundred meters from Bai Xuan, he leaped into the air, holding the blade with both hands, and slashed fiercely at Bai Xuan’s neck, looking determined to kill him; the long blade burned with raging fire, its temperature rising rapidly until the void twisted from the heat.

With a loud boom, such a terrifying strike failed to even break through Bai Xuan’s defense.

Mikhailovsky’s pupils constricted, and he looked incredulous; utilizing the thrusters to achieve Flight in the air, he slashed wildly at Bai Xuan, like a mosquito buzzing around Bai Xuan’s neck, with a flurry of blade lights and the accompanying loud clashing sounds.

But from beginning to end, he was unable to break through Bai Xuan’s defense, and Mikhailovsky began to doubt his own existence:

”How is this possible! How is this possible!”

Even if he just stood there and let him hit him, he couldn’t even break the defense, let alone harm a single hair on Bai Xuan.

”Forget it, I’m done playing with you.” Bai Xuan released his aura, pushing Mikhailovsky away, then grabbed him with his Eagle Claw, flapping his wings to fly into the air; as the Eagle Claw applied increasing force, the black dragon armor could not withstand the strength, continuously cracking and shattering until, in the end, Mikhailovsky and the long blade were all crushed into fragments and fell to the ground.

Bai Xuan continued to move forward, with no intention of stopping.

...

”Mikhailovsky is dead.” A bald old man wearing a military uniform with a Western sword at his waist slammed his palm heavily on the table; he was the Marshal of Bear Country, possessing a rank of the Third Order, Ninth Stage; despite his aged and frail appearance, his strength was formidable.

He ranked second on the Bear Country martial artist leaderboard, and at this moment, he was extremely furious, unable to believe that their dignified Bear Country had been pushed to such a desperate situation by a single ferocious beast.

”Marshal, this place is not suitable for a long stay; please leave here with us immediately.” A Lieutenant General, having learned that the front line had been wiped out again and that even Bear Country’s strongest, Mikhailovsky, had died, rushed into the command room, wanting to take the Marshal away from Bear Country and flee to another nation.

As long as the green hills remain, there’s no need to worry about firewood; although he really didn’t want to do this, in the current situation, leaving was the best course of action.

”No, this is our home. If even I leave, what will happen to the others? Just wait obediently for death? There must be another way; if all else fails, then... let’s perish together. If we can’t have a good life, they shouldn’t expect one either.”

The Marshal of Bear Country shook off the Lieutenant General’s hand, which was holding his arm, and clenched his fists, saying through gritted teeth.

His eyes revealed anger, and his hatred for Bai Xuan was written all over his face.

”You go now and negotiate with that beast; if it insists on destroying Bear Country, then we will surely drag the entire Far East Region, or even the whole world, down with us; at that time, no one will have it easy. Also, pull the other major powers into this; have the Dragon Country create a threat at the border, besiege Wei to rescue Zhao, and force that beast to retreat; otherwise, we will drag the whole world to the grave with us!”

The Marshal of Bear Country’s eyes were bloodshot; this was the best option left. Bear Country had the largest number of nuclear weapons in the world, and just in case, they had also produced a large number of mass-destruction nuclear weapons, specifically to have leverage for negotiations and to pull other countries into the conflict.

Otherwise, no one would have it easy; if Bear Country were to be destroyed, no one would survive, and the world would lose its meaning for existence.

Seeing the Marshal of Bear Country’s tough attitude, the Lieutenant General could only obey the order and carry it out: ”Understood, Marshal.”

With their status, they could be respected, enjoy wealth and honor, and be given important roles in any country they fled to; precisely because of this, many Bear Country Officers already had thoughts of fleeing, dragging their families along, taking valuable resources, and escaping Bear Country.

But the Marshal of Bear Country did not do so, choosing instead to fight to the bitter end.
