Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

60: Chapter 60 Retreat? Frost Giant Eagle!Missiles and torpedoes flew out from the warships.

Colonel Shelby watched the scene before him nervously, afraid of missing any detail.

Just then, the walkie-talkie rang, and Colonel Shelby picked it up to answer:

”General, I’m a bit busy right now. If there’s something, let’s talk about it later.”

”Colonel Shelby, get back here immediately! That beast is not something you can handle! Don’t go provoking it!”

A deep voice came through the walkie-talkie, and the tone was urgent.

”General, you’re underestimating me, aren’t you? It’s just a Tier 3 octopus. We have three warships; what is there to be afraid of?”

Colonel Shelby frowned slightly. That Tier 3 octopus was indeed strong, but they possessed the terrifying combat power of three whole warships. Would they be afraid of a mere Tier 3 beast?

If it were any other country, they might feel afraid because of this.

But Bear Country was one of the Five Permanent Members, with a profound foundation and formidable combat power. It was even known as the fighting nation; how could it be afraid of a mere Tier 3 beast?

”That is not a Tier 3 beast, nor is it some octopus, but... the Frost Giant Eagle, which holds the prestigious name of being at the pinnacle of beasts!”

The General’s tone was anxious. They had used satellites to detect that it was a giant eagle, and coupled with their detailed investigations into beasts,

it was easy for them to find the background of that eagle; it was the Frost Giant Eagle that had escaped from Dragon Country! This was major news!

They dared not take it lightly. For the past few days, they had been tracking Bai Xuan’s whereabouts, only to later discover that Bai Xuan was flying at supersonic speeds toward the sea area. Then, he appeared in the sea area, and that massive slaughter of beasts was indeed the work of Bai Xuan!

”Why would that guy appear here?!” Colonel Shelby felt extremely surprised. He had heard of Bai Xuan’s situation; half a year ago, he had already reached the pinnacle of Mutated Creatures with terrifying strength, possessing excellent talent!

Who knows what level he has grown to now!

”The Frost Giant Eagle! Colonel, we should... leave here immediately.”

Military orders were like mountains. Sweat dripped from Ruokesifu’s forehead as he suggested.

Besides, it wasn’t even afraid of their most advanced torpedoes. How were they supposed to fight this? It was better to follow orders and leave quickly.

Colonel Shelby clenched his fists, hung up the walkie-talkie, and looked at the sea before him. After a moment of contemplation, he spoke resolutely:

”No! If this scourge is left alive, it will be a devastating blow to us! We must swear to nip it in the bud!”

”But... the General has already given the order. Disobeying military orders is a grave crime.” Ruokesifu quickly brought up the General to make Colonel Shelby change his mind.

”For the future of Bear Country, we are duty-bound. Furthermore, Dragon Country has a good saying: A general in the field is not bound by the orders of his sovereign.”

Colonel Shelby quoted the old saying from Dragon Country to refute him and convince Ruokesifu.

”This...” Ruokesifu sighed helplessly. He knew Colonel Shelby’s personality well; he was very stubborn. No matter what difficulties he faced, as long as he wanted to do something, he would absolutely do it.

Meanwhile, the three warships turned back, speeding as fast as they could. At the same time, missiles, naval guns, and other thermal weapons were kept ready at all times to deal with any danger that might arrive at any moment.

”Those old fogies, they really are getting more cowardly the older they get! I order you not to run! Bomb that beast to death for me!” Colonel Shelby’s emotions were very unstable as he used the walkie-talkie to order the officers and pilots of the other warships.

”Report, Colonel. This is the General’s order. Military orders are like mountains; we must obey the arrangement. Please understand, and I hope you can calm down. For the sake of the big picture and for your own safety, recklessness will only lead to meaningless sacrifice. I have finished what I wanted to say, and as for your order, Colonel... we cannot comply.”

After saying this, the other party hung up the walkie-talkie.

”Colonel Shelby, please don’t make things difficult for us. Please calm down; now is not the time. Dragon Country has another good saying: If one does not tolerate small things, one will spoil the great plan. I hope you can take this to heart.”

Ruokesifu also began to persuade him, while pouring a cup of coffee for Colonel Shelby to help him calm down.

Now they were still in danger; acting on impulse would only lead to meaningless sacrifice and destroy the entire army.

Just as they were rushing to return, a surge of ice suddenly shot out from the water, hitting the stern of the warship. The ice spread rapidly, and in a short while, one-third of the massive warship was frozen. The warship’s power was damaged, it was frozen solid and unable to sail, and the sea surface was also frozen as a result.

This warship was the main warship that Colonel Shelby was on!

The warship shook violently, and finally the power failed. Colonel Shelby looked at the screen and radar to check the situation and discovered that the stern had been frozen.

The other two warships stopped to check the situation.

”Oh no, our power system has failed!”

An anxious voice came from the bridge over the walkie-talkie!

”Can’t we blast away the ice on the surface and continue sailing!” Colonel Shelby asked anxiously.

”It is possible, but it will take quite a lot of time. There’s no time!”

Hearing this news, Colonel Shelby was furious and punched the steel plate:

”Enter combat mode!”

Meanwhile, a massive figure shot out of the water, splashing a huge amount of seawater!

Bai Xuan’s massive and domineering body came into their view!

”This... this... is just too terrifying!”

”Holy crap! How did this guy manage to hold its breath in the sea for so long? And how did he withstand our torpedoes!”

”Quick! Quick! Record it and send it to headquarters!”

”This guy’s wingspan must be forty or fifty meters! It’s as big as half of our warship!”

They were shocked by Bai Xuan’s massive body and the cold air, stunned and exclaiming continuously! Some were even so scared that they screamed instinctively!

”Attack!” Colonel Shelby shouted. Now, they had no choice but to fight with all their might.

”Colonel, you should leave here immediately and go to another warship!” Ruokesifu advised.

Colonel Shelby was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly. The two walked out of the command room and came outside. The other warship had already pulled up, and the distance was less than thirty meters.

Colonel Shelby grabbed the back of Ruokesifu’s clothes with one hand and leaped, jumping onto the deck of the other warship. The main warship aimed all its firepower at the behemoth in mid-air, and then most of the Soldiers ran out and took helicopters to the other warship.

Facing the incoming firepower, Bai Xuan let out a sharp, piercing eagle cry that resounded through the sky, expressing his anger.

Immediately after, a huge ice shield condensed and appeared in front of Bai Xuan’s massive body, blocking most of the firepower attacks for him.

Several targeting missiles changed direction, bypassed the ice shield, and attacked Bai Xuan from behind. Explosions followed one after another, the air was filled with smoke, and ice fragments fell.

Seeing this scene, Colonel Shelby said: ”It hit! I don’t believe he can withstand such terrifying and dense firepower!”

He believed that even if these attacks didn’t kill the giant eagle, they could at least severely injure it! It would lose its combat capability, and catching it alive would be even better!

A beast of this level had great research value!
