Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

77: Chapter 77: The Benefits of a Strong Tone.”Cooperation is fine, but you must give fifty percent of your resources and follow my orders. However, under normal circumstances, I won’t issue orders unless something major happens. As for the fifty percent, that means handing over fifty percent of your tribe’s current resources plus fifty percent of all future gains, payable every thirty days.”

Upon hearing Bai Xuan’s words, the Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle was furious.

”Then what’s the difference between that and serving you? This is too much; we won’t accept it!”

”There is still a difference. By serving me, you only need to hand over forty percent of your resources, and I can provide help when you encounter danger, aiding you through difficult times. Cooperation doesn’t come with that privilege. Or rather, you’re paying to avoid disaster and preserve your lives.”

Bai Xuan smiled. It was either death or obedience; to stay alive, there were only these two choices.

”Is there really no room for negotiation?” The Gale Eagle King calmed its mind, suppressing the fury in its heart.

”None. How you choose is up to you. If you think I don’t have the strength, you’re welcome to come and try me.” Bai Xuan’s tone was firm.

He then looked at the Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle. This fellow was the loudest; if he didn’t teach it a lesson, it wouldn’t know who was in charge.

”By the way, didn’t you like to screech? Then go down and screech there.”

With that, the ice spikes behind him shot out in unison, wounding the Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle. However, the attack wasn’t fatal; this was only because Bai Xuan had shown mercy. If he had wanted it dead, the Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle would have been riddled with holes in the next second.

With its wings injured, the Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle was unable to maintain Flight and plummeted from the sky, letting out a series of ear-piercing screeches: ”Aaaargh!”

Finally, it crashed heavily onto the ground amidst a cloud of dust, its continuous screams indicating it hadn’t died.

After seeing Bai Xuan’s terrifying strength, the other Golden Eagles no longer dared to act up. Every one of them fell silent, lowering or turning their heads, not daring to look at Bai Xuan.

They were panicking internally. Even a Tier 3 Fierce Beast couldn’t last more than a few seconds in his hands; wouldn’t it be even easier for them to be defeated or even killed?

Seeing this, the Gale Eagle King could only swallow its pride and finally sighed.

”We are willing to serve you. Please, do not attack us further.”

The Golden Eagle tribe ultimately chose to compromise. Survival was more important than dignity. If they had even a fighting chance, they might have continued to negotiate, but they didn’t. Bai Xuan’s terrifying strength was enough to wipe them out dozens of times over.

”That’s more like it. Hand over forty percent of your resources, and from now on, hand over forty percent every three months. Likewise, if you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come to me at any time.”

Afterward, Bai Xuan gave them a few more instructions and gave them some feathers before letting them return. They were to bring forty percent of their resources to the central area to give to him in two hours. At the same time, Bai Xuan didn’t forget to give them a warning, telling them not to try any clever tricks, or they would face the consequences.

In the end, the Golden Eagle tribe left dejectedly. The Scarlet Flame Golden Eagle no longer dared to provoke Bai Xuan; from start to finish, it kept its head down, never making eye contact with him.

It was carried away by the Gale Eagle King, who gripped its wings as they flew off.

”Another capable subordinate gained,” Bai Xuan smiled.

As for loyalty, that could be seen later. As long as they were obedient for now and diligently collected resources for him, it would suffice.

Bai Xuan flew off, intending to finish everything in one go.

These fierce beasts were even easier to deal with than he had anticipated. The powerful tribes further back might take more time, but it shouldn’t be too long.

...

Meanwhile, the fierce beasts that had been driven away earlier had already arrived at the area Bai Xuan had designated and were waiting there.

”Deer King, that eagle wouldn’t happen to be unable to return, would it?”

The Water Scale Deer walked up to the Deer King and asked.

After all, he was facing dozens of Golden Eagles. In a real fight, it’s hard to fight against many; being a lone eagle would definitely put him at a disadvantage.

”Let’s wait and see.” The Deer King wasn’t in a hurry. If Bai Xuan didn’t return, they would just go about their own business and wouldn’t have to hand over any so-called resources.

But if he did return, they would gain a powerful backer. There were pros and cons.

”It’s the Eagle King! He’s back!”

”I didn’t expect the Eagle King to be so powerful that he could actually drive back dozens of Golden Eagles!”

”How do you know they were driven back?”

”Does that even need to be said? Those Golden Eagles aren’t exactly kind-hearted; they wouldn’t just let prey go easily. The only possibility is that they were driven back.”

”The Eagle King doesn’t seem to be injured at all.”

”That, I wouldn’t know.”

Before they evolved, they were herbivores and didn’t have much combat power. Even after evolving, they were still weaker than most predatory fierce beasts.

Because of this, they feared large birds of prey. This was also related to Flight; they couldn’t hit them, while a bird of prey’s diving attack was fatal.

The Deer King stepped forward. ”Eagle King, you’ve returned.”

”Yes. They have left and won’t attack you again. You can put your minds at ease.”

Bai Xuan landed on the ground and nodded slightly as he informed them of the situation.

This perfectly demonstrated Bai Xuan’s importance; the price was fair and honest.

It made them feel that it was well worth the cost.

”Thank you, Eagle King,” the Deer King said gratefully.

The other fierce beasts were the same, their voices ringing out in unison.

”By the way, from now on, you will live in this area. There are plenty of resources here. If you encounter any problems you can’t solve, you can come to me at any time. I’ll be in the central area.”

This area is located in the eastern part of the Siberia Region—the remaining one-third of the region. It is far from the North Pole and not as cold, with flowers, grass, mountains, and water. The powerful fierce beasts have mostly been cleared out by Bai Xuan, making it very suitable for their survival.

After finishing his instructions, Bai Xuan flew off to deal with the first tribe.

”I didn’t expect the Eagle King’s strength to be so great. It’s truly shocking. Perhaps following him won’t necessarily be a bad thing.”

The Water Scale Deer had been harboring dissatisfaction before, but now it seemed there might be benefits for them as well. It could be said to be a win-win situation.

”He should have already reached Tier 4, right?” the Deer King voiced the suspicion he had held from the beginning.

”Tier 4! How is that possible!” The Water Scale Deer was in disbelief.

”It’s just my guess.”

After the Deer King finished speaking, he went to attend to the matters of the beast nest.
