Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

70: Chapter 70: Kunwei, Chen Jue, Mission.Several fully armed helicopters were flying toward the central zone.

Logically speaking, this area was extremely dangerous, especially with the terrifying beast Bai Xuan there. Ever since Bai Xuan destroyed three warships last time, Bear Country bombers and fighter jets rarely entered here. If they had to conduct bombing raids, they would do so in coordinated operations; they would never come alone.

Yet now, they were piloting three helicopters into this place, which was baffling. Not to mention encountering Bai Xuan, even picking out a few second-tier aerial beasts would be a fatal blow to them, not to mention the long-range attacks from third-tier beasts. For a mere three helicopters to enter this area was still very dangerous.

”The journey here was truly perilous. Several times I thought I was done for, but fortunately, we made it through without any mishaps, and we’ve entered the central zone.”

A young man wearing a military uniform, named Cheng Kunwei, who was also a second-tier, sixth-stage martial artist from the Dragon Country, felt only a little cold in the face of such harsh conditions, without any other discomfort. This showed the strength of his physique, which was already capable of adapting to this environment.

Another young man with thick eyebrows and large eyes snorted coldly:

”Before we set out, our superiors already told us about the danger of this mission. If you were afraid, you shouldn’t have come. If you come, you must be mentally prepared and ready to die at any moment!”

”I was just saying that to lighten the mood, don’t take it so seriously.” Cheng Kunwei shrugged, feeling very helpless. It was just his personality; he wasn’t afraid of death.

The thick-browed man did not give Cheng Kunwei a pleasant look at all:

”Then please take this mission seriously!”

”Got it, got it, I will be very serious.”

Cheng Kunwei’s tone was perfunctory.

This mission was indeed very important and could not be taken lightly.

It was perfectly normal for the thick-browed man to say that.

”We’re almost at the destination, so let’s talk less.”

The captain held binoculars, looking at the scene below, and discovered that many beasts had spotted the helicopters. Several massive Earth Savage Bears were chasing in the direction of the helicopters, their expressions fierce, emitting waves of roars.

It was as if they were saying, ’Do not approach that place!’

”Everyone be careful, these Savage Bears are not simple.”

The captain’s expression was grave. These Savage Bears were indeed very difficult to deal with. They possessed immense strength and would throw rocks or trees at the helicopters, so they had to be three parts wary of them.

”Understood, Captain.” The helicopter pilot nodded slightly, his expression cold and unsmiling.

They would attack if necessary, but they would rather avoid it if they could. Their mission this time was not to start a war, and they did not want to provoke that giant eagle.

”The Far East Region is truly perilous!” the captain couldn’t help but exclaim.

The Far East Region was very large, and the territory of Bear Country was even larger, but there were few people to manage it. Now that a beast catastrophe had broken out, it was normal that they couldn’t control the Far East Region for the time being.

To change this situation, the permanent population in the West and the Siberia Region needed to be dealt with first, and only then could they solve the Far East Region.

As for the Dragon Country, because they had implemented countermeasures early on, the country was relatively safe. There were also many martial artists rising and being trained. He believed that before long, they would be able to completely solve the beast problem, and then it would be the border issue.

At the same time, there was good news: human military capabilities had greatly improved. After those scientists mastered spiritual energy, their levels increased, and their intelligence rose accordingly. Research was becoming smoother, and military technology was becoming more and more advanced.

”Captain, do you think that giant eagle is really here?”

Cheng Kunwei leaned in beside the captain and asked.

”Our superiors have already confirmed it; it is one hundred percent in this area.”

The captain replied confidently; satellite imagery would never be wrong.

”Why do you talk so much?” The thick-browed man, named Chen Jue, possessed a second-tier, seventh-stage level, which was considered upper-tier among Dragon Country martial artists.

Behind him were two meteor hammers, jet black in their entirety. These were weapons forged from special spiritual energy materials; whether in terms of lethality or hardness, they were terrifying. When infused with spiritual energy, they had unexpected effects.

They all had their own weapons, which were very heavy, weighing hundreds or even thousands of jin. Fortunately, these were military helicopters, which could carry such a large amount of weaponry.

”Do you have a problem with me? Why are you always targeting me?” Cheng Kunwei’s expression was displeased. This guy was always picking fights, which was very annoying. His good mood had been ruined by him.

”I’ll say it again: take this seriously and don’t drag us down.”

Chen Jue spoke with reason and evidence; otherwise, Cheng Kunwei wouldn’t have been so good-tempered, nor would he have any reason to get angry.

”Forget it, I won’t argue with you.” Cheng Kunwei stopped paying attention to Chen Jue.

He leaned against the window, looking at the situation below; it was snow-covered, with beasts running rampant.

Suddenly, Cheng Kunwei’s pupils constricted, and he shouted: ”Quick, dodge!”

They saw a huge cone-shaped rock spike flying at an extremely fast speed, attacking the helicopter in the sky.

”Damn it, what kind of monstrous strength is this?” Seeing this scene, the captain felt incredibly shocked. To throw such a large rock just like that—as expected of the Savage Bear Clan, their strength was truly terrifying!

”Is that the Bear King?” Cheng Kunwei pointed to the largest Earth Savage Bear in the distance. It was like a small mountain, standing up and roaring at the sky, the sound echoing through the clouds. Immediately afterward, it threw several more huge rock cones, attacking the helicopter.

This giant bear was none other than Xiong Yan. At this moment, it had already advanced to the third tier, having luckily had the opportunity to advance. Seeing helicopters intruding here, and appearing to approach Bai Xuan’s dwelling with a specific purpose, made it incredibly angry.

”It looks like it has already advanced to the third tier,” the captain replied.

”There are really more and more third-tier beasts now. That third-tier Siberian Tiger at the border poses a huge threat to the border; it even masters the lightning attribute, and its ability to project spiritual energy is used with such perfection...”

This was not the first time Cheng Kunwei had seen a third-tier beast. Previously, he had clashed with a third-tier beast in the Outer Hinggan Mountains, also known as Huzi, which was also the first time he had personally experienced the terror of a third-tier beast.

”Damned beast, if it weren’t for the mission, I would really like to shoot you dead,” Chen Jue said, looking at Xiong Yan, who was showing off its power below.

”How about I let you down there to fight it?” Cheng Kunwei said.

”Don’t make such jokes.” The captain patted Cheng Kunwei’s helmet and scolded him.

”I know,” Cheng Kunwei replied, looking aggrieved.

Seeing this scene, Chen Jue’s anger dissipated quite a bit. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly, with a hint of schadenfreude, as he just looked at Cheng Kunwei, the implication obvious.

”What are you laughing at?” Seeing this, Cheng Kunwei was furious.

”Did I laugh?”

”You aren’t mocking me?”

”You’re too sensitive. Why would I mock you?”
