Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

87: Chapter 87: Handing Over Resources, the Barn Owl Seeks Refuge?Afterward, the Golden Eagle King submitted the spirit stones from this period to Bai Xuan.

The submission was supposed to happen once every three months, and only two and a half months had passed, leaving half a month until the deadline. However, the Golden Eagle King chose to submit them early, which was a sign of its recognition of Bai Xuan, or rather, its complete submission.

After all, Bai Xuan had eliminated their greatest rival, so submitting resources early was only proper.

In total, there were four thousand Low-Grade Spirit Stones, fifty Mid-Grade Spirit Stones, and two high-grade spirit stones.

”Take this high-grade spirit stone, cultivate well, and improve your own level and strength. By the way, if you encounter anything you cannot resolve, come find me for help at any time. Don’t just force your way through it and affect the development of your clan.”

Bai Xuan took out a Low-Grade Spirit Stone and gave it to the Golden Eagle King. The words that followed were also Bai Xuan’s true feelings; if they were wiped out, he would have to find other clans to collect spirit stones from, which would be time-consuming and laborious—something Bai Xuan did not want to see.

The Golden Eagle King initially declined a few times, but in the end, it couldn’t refuse Bai Xuan’s insistence and had no choice but to accept it: ”Thank you, Eagle King.”

”Do a good job; I have high hopes for you.” Bai Xuan laughed heartily.

”I will.” The Golden Eagle King nodded gently.

Afterward, Bai Xuan chatted with them for a while longer, asking if they needed him to eliminate those troublesome clans. Unexpectedly, the Golden Eagle King refused, stating that its own clan could handle them and there was no need to trouble Bai Xuan.

Bai Xuan did not insist. In any case, the largest lion had already been killed by him, and there were basically no other beast clans left that could threaten the Golden Eagle Clan. Since the Golden Eagle King was unwilling, Bai Xuan naturally wouldn’t intervene. Finally, Bai Xuan bade them farewell and flew away.

Now that resources were sufficient and there were no changes in the southwest for the time being, with the east bordering the sea and the north nearing the Arctic, Bai Xuan planned to wait until he reached the Fifth Tier before going to take a look.

After Bai Xuan left, the beasts of the Golden Eagle Clan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

To be honest, most of them were still very afraid of Bai Xuan. They didn’t know him very well, and coupled with his terrifying combat power, feeling afraid was perfectly normal.

”It finally left. What on earth did this guy grow up eating to be so strong?”

”You guys didn’t see it—the Eagle King casually made a few moves and easily killed the Horned Viper King in seconds. We were all stunned at the time; it was unbelievable!”

”It seems it is even more terrifying and powerful than we imagined.”

The Golden Eagle Clan began to discuss it, with some feeling worried about the future of the clan, fearing that if they accidentally displeased Bai Xuan, they would be wiped out.

”Jifeng, what is your opinion on that giant eagle now?” The aged eagle walked to the Golden Eagle King’s side and asked for its opinion.

”Perhaps following it isn’t a bad thing. Furthermore, it seems quite tolerant toward us. As long as we honestly submit our resources, it won’t do anything to us.” The Golden Eagle King gave a wry smile; it could only be said that there were pros and cons.

The pro was receiving Bai Xuan’s protection, making them safer.

The con was having to submit resources, meaning they needed to spend more time searching for them.

”That makes sense; we can only do this for now.” The old eagle nodded gently; this was a decent answer.

Having a clear understanding of one’s own strength and not resisting blindly—furthermore, Bai Xuan also provided them protection, which could be considered mutually beneficial. The old eagle agreed with this conclusion and approach.

Meanwhile, Bai Xuan returned to the central region.

To Bai Xuan’s surprise, a Third Tier flying beast had intruded here, bringing along a few Second Tier lions. They were currently in a standoff with Xiong Yan and the others, though no fighting had broken out.

Bai Xuan flew toward where they were.

”Leader Xiong, we do not have any ill intent; we have come to seek the Eagle King’s protection.”

A giant Barn Owl, similar in appearance to an owl, had snow-white feathers all over its body and a slender physique. It stood eight or nine meters tall, its sharp Eagle Claw gleaming, and its round eyes held not a trace of killing intent or malice. It stood on a large tree, staring at the Savage Bear Clan below.

There were other smaller Barn Owls standing on the branches, remaining silent, yet they did not lower their guard.

After all, this was Bai Xuan’s territory, so they dared not act recklessly. At the same time, the Savage Bear Clan was powerful, so they dared not lower their guard, lest they lose their lives here.

They did not know much about Bai Xuan. They had only learned of the situation here from other flying beasts, hearing that there was an incomparably powerful Eagle King in the central region who suppressed beasts with terrifying combat power, controlled the territory in the southwest and the central region, and even had the ability to challenge humans.

They were incredibly shocked by this. After careful consideration, they chose to come and seek refuge under Bai Xuan to obtain protection. There is strength in numbers, after all; to survive better, one must band together. To be precise, they had come seeking protection.

”The Eagle King hasn’t returned yet, so you will have to wait here for a while. By the way, don’t try any tricks, or don’t blame us for being impolite.”

Xiong Yan had a very high sense of territorial awareness. A Third Tier beast intruding here was naturally seen as a provocation; if it hadn’t been for this Third Tier Barn Owl stating it had come to seek refuge, it might have directly taken action to drive them away.

The Third Tier Barn Owl nodded gently: ”Rest assured, we are sincerely here to seek refuge and will not play any tricks.”

It possessed a Third Tier, Third Stage level. Its clan was located in the colder north, specifically in the Far East Region near the Arctic. The beasts of its clan all possessed the Ice Attribute. Upon learning that Bai Xuan belonged to the same raptor category and also possessed the Ice Attribute just like them, it wanted to seek refuge even more.

”That is best.” Xiong Yan retracted its aura and killing intent, its tone softening significantly. Seeing this scene, the other Savage Bears also retracted their aura. The tense atmosphere eased slightly.

”Are you from the northern region?” Xiong Yan asked.

”Yes, we are the Ice Barn Owl Clan from the northern region. Having heard that there is a powerful Eagle King in the central region, we have come here sincerely to seek refuge.” The Third Tier Barn Owl introduced itself.

”I see. I hope we can become friends, or partners.” Xiong Yan nodded gently. If the Barn Owls truly belonged to Bai Xuan, then they would be partners.

”I will do my utmost to fulfill that.” Seeing the atmosphere soften, the Barn Owl breathed a sigh of relief. Now, it only needed to wait for Bai Xuan to return for their allegiance to be successful.

”By the way, if I may be so bold as to ask, what kind of eagle is your Eagle King?” The Barn Owl finally could not suppress its curiosity and asked.

”As long as we perform our duties diligently, the Eagle King treats us quite well. The most important thing is protection. The current situation is tense, and we need a powerful beast to unite the many beasts to resist strong enemies together. Likewise, it will divide survival areas for each, trying to avoid conflict as much as possible. The only beast that can achieve this is the Eagle King.” Xiong Yan stated his opinion on Bai Xuan.
